Top Craignure Hotel Reviews

The Great Western Hotel
6/10 Okay
"Very old hotel and it shows. The room was actually nice enough but the floor creaked with every step. The place was probably something in its day, but now it just looks old. And for the price I can get a Hilton hotel. Location is good and the view was great. Could not check in until 3, no exceptions. Also, it was cool when we were there and the steam heat did not seem to be adjustable. The windows allowed cold air to infiltrate because they are old. Not impressed."

The Whisky Vaults
10/10 Excellent
"If you love whisky or not this is the place to stay. The outside appearance does not do this accommodation justice. A very clean and comfortable room, if small ( we were in room 7). The staff were all extremely friendly and welcoming. The bar staff have excellent whisky knowledge. The bar food was also very good. We would definitely stay again."

Brander Lodge Hotel
6/10 Okay
"Breakfast was very good, with a good selection and full Scottish freshly cooked."

The Kelvin Hotel
6/10 Okay
"It is a small hotel (you could call it a large B&B) right in the Oban harbor. There is a pay and display parking lot right across the street - £7.50 for 24 hours. The ferry terminal is right behind the parking lot but you can't walk across the train track so you have to go around the block. Lots of stores and bars nearby and the disilois a short walk away. It has a small bar open in the afternoon and evening, and a small dining area for continental breakfast (not included - buy it the night before at the bar). For check in you'll find an envelope with the key on the small table by the entrance. For check out, you leave the key in the same place. Staff was very friendly. Now the catch - the building is old in and out and it shows. Though they keep it clean, it won't look like new. If I remember well, the price was reasonable and this is probably why. All room are upstairs (1 or 2 floors up) so if you have problems carrying luggage up a steep winding stair, this may not be for you."

The Ranald Hotel
8/10 Good
"Clean comfortable room great bed and shower. Walking distance to restaurants. Only negative would be having to haul luggage up the stairs."

Corran House Guest House & Hostel
4/10 Poor
"It was a very basic accommodation with one bed and one chair and shared washrooms. I felt like I was in a cell"

Ardtorna
10/10 Excellent
"Good communication before arrival to ascertain our arrival time so that someone was there to welcome us. Parking was easy and the annex / lodge we were given was an upgrade which was welcome. Breakfast was spot on with local fresh ingredients "

The Isle of Mull Hotel and Spa
8/10 Good
"Lovely room with fantastic views. Really enjoyed the spa. Bed a bit too soft, but great to have bathrobes included. Restaurant pricey but mains were good. Disappointed by desserts. Awful experience in the Sea Deck bar - service was dreadful and food mediocre. Most tables at knee level so not ideal for dining. Breakfast decent but nothing special - buffet only. Apart from the service in the bar, staff were great and we enjoyed our stay"

The Royal Hotel
6/10 Okay
"Great location, friendly helpful staff, nice breakfast. But, terribly dated and tired."
