The Bolton is tough to review. Very eclectic - wasn't quite my cup of tea but others may love it. The 70's vibe is alive and well here. Intentional - I think. Just look carefully at the photos and decide if it's for you.

Room was very very noisy with doors banging shut from very early morning Room 208A Seemed to be a door cleaners were using but wouldnt stay again and have to put up with that. Hotel and staff were all good but in the end of the day I arrived late and was banking on a good nights sleep which i didn't get.

The Bolton was the perfect place for our stay. An easy walk to the Wellington Stadium, waterfront restaurants and trains. The room is was spacious and quite with views towards to hills.

I organised a birthday lunch, most people were from out of town so we all stayed there. The organisation was painless, they were so helpful and communication was excellent. On the day it was perfect and the food was exceptional. They were so helpful in every aspect of the weekend, would highly recommend them and would certainly only every stay there again in Wellington

A high quality hotel in a great location. Excellent staff, great restaurant, quiet room, it was very good. The only area for improvement would be the bed, which was too soft.

Quiet and comfortable. Excellent friendly service. Good room service meal options if you want to hide away. Good quality toilet paper too! I know that's a weird thing to mention but most hotels have pretty average loo paper.

Very helpful staff. Easy parking, concierge takes and fetches car from Wilson car park opposite hotel. Concierge increased temperature setting in our room, as for us 19° was too low. 5min walk to waterfront.

Very convenient CBD location, especially to the train station. Clean, well appointed suite. Courteous staff. There is no secured luggage storage if you arrive before your room is ready. The washer/dryer is a single unit. It will take up to 3 hours to wash and dry a small load of laundry.

A luxurious stay at The Bolton. We had a King Suite which had many amenities including a kitchenette and washer/dryer. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The location is perfect for walking to the harbor and botanic gardens. One of the nicest places we have ever stayed,

Very enjoyable stay. Room was very clean, modern, quiet and comfortable . The premier room had some basic cooking facilities inc a small fridge which was very handy. The views were lovely from the room were lovely and found the hotel to be quiet, couldn’t hear anything from neighbouring rooms. The hotel is set up from the CBD, so recommend checking the flattest route to walk back to the hotel. There is a flat route if you walk via Lambton Quay but still need to navigate a number of stairs to get back to hotel. There are a few coffee shops near by but most of the restaurants do sit within the cbd, which is a 15 to 30 min walk depending on where you are going. I didn’t use any of the facilities, inc restaurant or gym so cannot comment on these. I would stay again.

We always recommend the mostly flat walk along Lambton Quay to the Cable Car, this takes guests to the top of the neighbouring Botanic Gardens and it's a lovely downhill walk back to the hotel. Nice location, easy walking distance to everything you want to visit. Nice hotel, great beds. Dont plan to eat outside hotel in evenings. Since it is Government area, it is deserted and everything closed after 8

Updated , quiet and good location
We stayed in an updated one bedroom suite and enjoyed the modern room and space. The location was convenient for exploring the city. The blackout blinds are the best we have ever had. Make sure you set an alarm! The ac never seemed to want to cool down during the day but seemed to work fine at night but never reached the desired temperature of 21 even by morning.
