Bathroom was down the hall. They do have ensuite rooms, but there was a significant price increase. Overall enjoyed a unique country accommodation experience. Continental breakfast was included.

Relaxing stay at Bischoff. Good location.
Good stay at Bischoff Hotel on business trip. Old style hotel with refurbished rooms which were comfortable. Owner Andrew was an excellent host. Meal was very good. Small town Waratah was scenic and easy to walk around.

Really a wonderful stay. It was extremely cold out but we were lively and snug inside. The owners are perfect hosts in both friendliness and standards. It was no trouble for our included breakfast to be an hour early so we could get to our next remote stay in good time. Would recommend it completely

The owner and staff super friendly, a quaint old fashioned pub. The shared bathroom and kitchen allowed for friendly banter with other guests.

Lovely stay, pub was very lively when we went. Staff were enthusiastic and helpful. Had to use the shared bathrooms but they were very clean. Small town but food in the pub was great and affordable. Was quiet at night, good opportunities to view wildlife (playptus, ducks, wallabies etc) in nearby parkland.

I assume you gave us such a poor rating because we wouldn't refund you for changing your plans. Many others love their stay at the Bischoff Hotel and have a great time here meeting other people and enjoying our home cooked meals, excellent range of Tasmanian drinks and warm, comfy beds.

Freezing cold and the room heater totally inadequate. Electric blanket only worked on one side and this seemed known to staff. The menu was chicken parmigiana or a burger. Staff were nice and friendly but the facility is very run down.

Very quaint old pub. Traditionally appointed room (stayed in the ensuite room) but very very swish for that olde world style. The bed was SUPER comfy and the little ensuite was lovely. (Brilliant shower) The staff were really lovely and helpful, old fashioned yummy pub meal.

Thank you Mark. We hope to see you again. You must have missed our red meat items on the menu. We have house-made beef burgers, steak sandwiches and warm asian beef salad as standard menu items. We also have beef lasagna, scotch steak and roast beef or lamb specials on different days of the week. We hope you get to enjoy one of these next time :)

Absolutely fabulous owners very clean rooms but I do love a toilet and shower in my room But overall great food and hospitality from the owners I’d go back

Great old pub, room with no ensuite was maybe a bit dear but it was a special weekend in Waratah so we didnt mind.

Pleasantly surprised of how clean, tidy and comfortable this very old hotel was. The staff were friendly and helpful. The common room/kitchenette was a lovely space to make breakfast. The people of Waratah clearly take pride in their town and enjoyed visiting this township

We stayed here for 2 nights as a base for exploring Cradle Mountain and the surrounding areas. We stayed in the Spa Suite, which was a large room with everything you needed and a GREAT spa tub to soak in after a cold day outside - this is definitely a well-worth perk of the room. A continental breakfast of tea + coffee, cereal, fresh milk and OJ is provided each morning to enjoy in your room at your leisure. A small fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave and bathrobes all come with the spa suite. The bed was so comfy, with electric blankets to keep warm (these were appreciated as even though there is a heater in the room, it didn’t warm up beyond 17-18 degrees). Something that could have made a difference to the overall welcome would be to have the heater already on for guests arriving, as the room was a very chilly 13 degrees when we checked in. The town is quaint with a small service station the only place to pick up select groceries, and the Bischoff Hotel the only pub in town. Thank God they do food as well as they do!! We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and drinks both nights we stayed there. Check out their website for menus. A quirky cafe is a few doors down for a mid-morning coffee. Overall, a great stay and will definitely be back again. Make sure to do the Waratah Bush Walk down to the old Power Station when in town. The pub can provide a map and set of instructions to guide you - allow 1.5hrs roughly to complete! And try catch the platypus in the creeks :)
