Great for a short stay
Great breakfast buffet, although no scrambled eggs - there's no bar, just vending machines on the top floor. It's like a "Pension" in DACH terms.

Very nice and cozy hotel, rooms are clean and nicely decorated/renovated, and everything is within walking distance. I would just suggest to ask for a room that isn’t near the stairs/elevator, because it can get slightly loud.

Damit wir Ihre Rechnung überprüfen können, senden Sie uns bitte ein Mailing mit Ihrer Rechnungskopie. Aufgrund des Klimaschutzes verzichten wir bewusst auf eine Installation einer Klimanlage in unserem Haus. Anwendung durchschnittlich 10 Tage im Jahr in unserer Region. Ja, aktuell haben wir Festspielzeit (Hochsaison) im Rheintal. Hier haben wir unsere Zimmerpreise allgemein um EUR 10,- erhöht. Sonnige Grüße aus Dornbirn

Nice hotel, unfortunately we had to be somewhere else at 8 am on sunday morning. Breakfast does not start before 8. We were offered breakfast to be delivered to our room the night before - not too great the following day.

Nice place to stay!!!
Clean and newly remodeled! Nice place! The room was quite comfortable and very modern as well as clean. The breakfast was adequate your typical german/austrian breakfast coldcuts bread and cheese with yogurt. I would have like some eggs and bacon or sausage but that is an american thing.

Excellent hotel
The hotel could have been 5 stars we thought. Roof top bar has great views and is cosy. Breakfast was really good. Rooms are really nicely decorated and look new. We had a lovely stay, would definitely come back and can highly recommend it here.

A comfortable and modern hotel
A very hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were modern, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. I will be looking forward to my next stay at Hotel Garni Sonne.

Terrible customer service
One of the worst experiences I've had at a hotel. I travel frequently and had booked this hotel for 3 nights for business. Smelly room, cobwebs and spiders on the deck, and no air conditioning so had to leave windows open, but there was noisy construction going on outside early every morning. Didn't sleep well at all. Complained to the front desk attendant, who was also the owner, who said "That's the way it is in Austria" and made no attempt to help or accommodate. He even charged us for the third night even though the situation was so bad that we had to leave. Any other hotel would have helped in some way. Was shocked at this response. Definitely wasn't worth it and certainly wouldn't recommend it.

really great service. I showed up late in the eve to check in and because the front desk closed down, they left the key for me on the desk. Very friendly - nice location. Overall - no complaints at all!

Could be better if it had air conditioner
The hotel is very nice, we were there for one night only, on our way to Germany. I made the reservation two hours only before the check in and when we arrived, the front desk was already closed. But there was a telephone and I called the manager and he gave all the instructions to check in myself! That was pretty nice. The only complain is the lack of air conditioner in the room. The rest was very good. Nice bed, nice shower and nice breakfast.

Fabulous find
Hotel Sonne was a fabulous find on our Expedia hotel search close to the Bodensee: Great rooftop, accommodating staff, delicious, plentiful breakfast, and super clean rooms with stylish glass shower.

Absolutely great
Nice and pleasant surroundings, friendly staff . Rooms are very clean. Wi-Fi is working perfectly. Parking place in front of the Hotel, breakfast plentiful. Bregenz is very close, so if you want you can drink coffe on the Bodensee. And you can get there for just 10 min. Overall rating 5

Good and clean but to expensive breakfast.
I come here already for many years, hotel is nice and clean, good bed and so on. Only big minor, last week I visisted the hotel again and for the first time the breakfast was not included, I was asked to pay 21 Euro if I wanted to join the breakfast, I eat only 1 breadroll and 1 or 2 cups of coffee, so I was pretty shocked about this that I skipped it. Sorry 21 Euro is far to high if you are not a bit eater, yes the buffet is OK that is clear, but from inclusive to an additional 21 Euro is to much.

Here we generally offer a very attractive surcharge for breakfast.We ask for your understanding that we do not count how many cups of coffee or bread rolls are taken from the buffet at breakfast. Here we simply have an all-inclusive price.Furthermore, our rooms are equipped with free coffee. We also offer a great selection of coffee to go. Für uns hat alles gepasst sauber, freundlich, Auswahl beim Frühstück, vielleicht eine Info wo was sich befindet beim Frühstück mehrere Räume. Aber alles frisch und gut. Zimmer neu renoviert. Weiter so.

Die Fotos haben mehr versprochen
Wir hatten zwei Comfort Einzelzimmer gebucht und uns auf die Zimmer von den gezeigten Fotos gefreut. Leider war eines davon anscheinend noch nicht renoviert und die Einrichtung entsprechend rustikal. Beim anderen Zimmer ging das Fenster direkt auf den Balkon des Nachbarzimmers. Bäder sehr klein. Die Zimmer waren super hellhörig, v.a. Nummer 15, wo das Bett direkt an der Wand zum Treppenaus stand - man kam sich vor, als würde die Treppe direkt durchs Zimmer führen, was nachts leider zu entsprechenden Schlafstörungen geführt hat. Pluspunkte für die stylishe Dachterrasse und das reichhaltige Frühstück, nochmal kommen würden wir trotzdem nicht.

Auch haben wir eine durchschnittliche Aufenthaltsdauer unserer Business Gäste von ca. ein bis zwei Tage. Aus diesem Grund sind unsere Badezimmer bei den klassischen Einbettzimmer nicht all zu groß. Sie haben bei Ihrer Buchung bewusst die günstigste Variante ausgewählt.Unsere Zimmer sind alle mit Schallschutzfenstern ausgestattet. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, alles sehr gepflegt und sauber. Das Frühstück bietet eine sehr große Auswahl. Die Aussicht auf die Berge ist traumhaft. Was uns persönlich gestört hat, ist die Zimmergestaltung. Das Bad hat keine richtige Tür, es sind nur Vorhänge da, die nach Belieben vor den Eingang oder die gläserne Dusche gezogen werden können. Das sieht natürlich stylisch aus, ist für Menschen die etwas mehr Wert auf Privatsphäre legen, nicht ganz so geeignet.
