The property lies about their listing. It was false advertising with a bait & switch. We booked our stay there based on ONE image the property had in their Expedia listing.
I spoke with management & they said Expedia must have added the image because it is not one of theirs on their website. She further said they do not have any canal views. This was 3 lies to my face, so management “apologized” but her apology consisted of these lies:
1. Properties list their listings on Expedia, add a description, set their prices & add their own images. (As I recall)
2. The image IS on their website. I looked after we left on the train (I have screen records of everything if they delete after this to validate my statements).
3. They do have Canal views because more than one of their website images show them. (I would guess it’s the apartment opposite us as it would overlook the canal based on where it is in the building.)
I think they use this image to trick customers into booking & once they are there it is too late.
Management offered us a complimentary breakfast as an olive leaf (breakfast has dried crusty scrambled eggs which looked gross I would NOT pay to eat there but the view was very nice) & claims she will be looking into the matter with Expedia for further help.
We would NOT have booked this stay if that image had not been in the gallery of 5 images for it. That image was our SOLE reason for booking. We feel scammed & taken advantage of & I feel we should get a full refund.
