Yes indeed high water was a problem but it is only the time of an exceptionnal high tide that happened last time in 1966! The full moon and the very strong scirocco winds create this incredible event. you lived a quite extraordinary event but there is no risk. It can happen in November. Now the streets are dry again and the city clean with shops, retaurants , supermarkets open. We look forward to seing you and your Parents again and please let everyone know that Venice is dry now! Dear Guest, we thank you for your kind review and we are glad that you enjoyed Venice and our hotel area!... As you saw it is a very nice area, very central but far from the mess of the touristic area , full of small bars and restourants and tipycal venitian shops... Regarding air-conditioning we are sorry for you, unfortunately you arrived in one of the hotest period for Venice, but our hotel has not air conditioning system as wrote clearly in all our descriptions, we have just fans in the rooms on summer, and normally it is anough...... like the television system .... we have not in the rooms. Our it is a 1 star small and familiar hotel and we have not theese ameneties so if are looking for this you must to choose another one.... We try to do every days the best we can for give to our special guests a very warm welcome and a pleasant stay with our very clean rooms a the very nice location... Our small familiar hotel of only 10 rooms is located in a very charming area but not close to the water but just inside a tipycal venitian street ! The position is optimal because we are out of the tourist mess but only 10 minutes walking far from the main attractions here... Our historical building is at the corner street so not all our rooms are vith view on the street (as the big part of all the hotels here in Venice) but all our rooms are very clean and confortable and different prices following the size and the view... so if you wish to have street view: .... just ask for it !... there are only a small difference on th price...
