The staff is great, location is very convenient, however, our room on the first floor was completely rundown and in unacceptable condition. Peeling and chipped bathroom tile and paint, stains on walls and floor, no shower curtain or glass to prevent water from soaking the floor. It was worse than anywhere I have ever encountered, not acceptable outside of a third world country. Renovated rooms on the second floor are very nice. I cannot recommend this hotel unless you are able to ensure that your room has been renovated.
What an amazing hotel, the decor, the breakfast, the staff, the view from room 104 the one with the balcony over looking the canal, amazing.
Perfectly situated near the main canal, train, taxi and bus station.

We stayed at the Gardena Hotel for 2 nights in October and loved it! The room was very clean and is a good size (we had the room with the balcony). It’s located right off the Grand Canal, and is walkable to a lot of shops, restaurants, and is a 5 minute walk to the bus/taxi station (Piazzale Roma) and the main train station (enezia San Lucia). The staff is very friendly and professional. We would definitely stay again!
