Contrary to what's advertised on Expedia, there is no front desk at this location. instead, it's managed by staff from another hotel. While these staff members were nice and friendly, their presence couldn't salvage our disastrous stay. We had no means of contacting onsite staff. The room was not only filthy but also emitted an unpleasant odor. It felt as though we were lodged in a repurposed storage space with low ceilings and a poorly designed layout. I couldn't even fit into the shower comfortably. The shuttered window opened to a duct chase, where bathroom exhaust from neighboring homes would waft in. The photos provided were misleading, the stairway depicted has nothing to do with the actual hotel entrance, which was located elsewhere.

Dirty- hairballs and beer bottles on the balcony, dust everywhere, dirty sheets. Also was supposed to have AC but it didn’t work so it was super uncomfortable. To make matters worse, no one works there so check in and out is on the 3rd floor of a different building a few blocks away in a super busy area so you have to drag your suitcases to and from this place to check in and out. Stay far far away.

The hotel does not have a reception desk which caused confusion as I was asked to check in at another hotel/branch which was about 4min walk from this hotel. Not far but confusing as this was communicated to me on the last day before check in. There was no info about wi-fi, since there wasn’t a reception at the hotel, I emailed the staff to ask about the wi-fi details and to date I haven’t heard back. Another hotel desk was kind enough to share the Wi fi details. The hotel is located close to Rialto bridge so the location is good, food places are nearby and the hotel is clean. The room size was fairly good but the bathroom was quite small. The absence of reception is a big turn off because you couldn’t communicate with the hotel staff and walking to another building for every query is an extra pain.

Hotel is in a very central location for exploring venice. The price is very cheap for central Venice but also reflects the fact the hotel has some compromises eg no lift to get luggage up to room, reception services provided from a different hotel and some sound proofing issues between rooms. Was fine for a night or two.

Dear Guest, thank you for your review. We are sorry that you only partially found your experience with us satisfactory. About the lift, Palazzo Lion Morosini is a XVIth Century Palace and its peculiar and unique structure does not allow, unfortunately, the possibility to have one to be installed. Best regards

We really enjoyed our Venice stay! The room was comfortable, the bathroom fully renovated, the location was ideal. The only challenge was the thin walls. We were kept awake and woken by our neighbours.

A complete dump. Rude staff. Stay away!
The staff was rude. They advertised as having AC but it does not (read other reviews!). Same with WiFi, basically non-existent. We were told to open the room coz they don’t want to turn on the AC so not surprisingly mosquito bites by the morning. The fridge in the room was also disgusting, wasn’t cleaned. We expected the place to be old because it is Venice, but this place was a complete dump for 300 Euros a night. When we complained about the AC, the guy got so aggressive. Stay away from this place! Read the other reviews and it appears they advertise things they have no intention of providing or will find any excuse why such things are not available or not working. I don’t understand why hotels.com allows this business to continue booking on their website with false advertising. This is 1 of 7 properties during our almost month-long trip. We had amazing stays at all others. But this one is just plain awful.

Mr. Bayot Perseus, a very clean person (our maid did not want to enter their room because she felt like throwing up for the dirt and rubbish they left !!) did not understand that the air conditioning with the temperature of 15/18 degrees does not work !!!It is true that we have inscribed it on the ad, but it is also written to us that we have heatingAnd, I tried to make him understand, but to no avail, that if he comes in August (EXAMPLE) we can't give him heating just because it is written in the ad !!The truth (lousy) is that this Bayot wanted the discount (he even made me call from Hotels.com !!)I advise against the whole world to host this personI can send his personal data to those who ask me

a warning to travellers that you may find yourself with broken air conditioning and no fan in the middle of a heatwave. a/c broke on the second night of my stay (temp was 33-35 degrees celsius) and had not been repaired by the seventh night of my stay, when i checked out. a fan was provided by night 5, but only after i requested one/asked for a partial refund (which was ultimately not issued, despite the manager saying we would discuss it further). since A/C was a priority factor in my deciding which hotel to rent, this was quite troubling. hotel amenities are very basic. although conveniently located, the neighbourhood is very crowded/noisy and the hotel did not provide a restful reprieve from the busy, hot streets.

Amazing location in Venice
Really good location, with most tourist spots accessible within a 15 min walk or so. A 2 second walk to the Canal with a view of Rialto Bridge, which seemed to be a hotspot for people chilling out at night - a really good atmosphere Lots of stairs to get to the room with no elevator so bear in mind if you have difficulty walking Basic facilities and clean - does the job. It’s probably not the place if you plan to stay in the hotel more.

Great place in Venice.
This is a great hotel. The value for your money is outstanding. The room is clean and spacious. The location is phenomenal, as it is very close to the Rialto bridge. The staff is very friendly and responsive. The instructions on how to get to the property will be sent to you after you book. They are very good directions, and should take you right to it! The only thing lacking was the Wifi. It was very weak and you had to go into the hallway to use it. The hallway is very hot, but the rooms have more than adequate AC. I would definitely recommend it and would happily stay there again.

Dear anonymous, 200 euros the days of the opening of the Biennale... they are not many. How many people were you and how many nights do you stay?....we have not received any complaints so I don't understand why you didn't immediately tell the problems you had in reception... I think if it was really very dirty you wouldn't have slept but you would have gone to another hotel....I think it's just a question of price you put 1.....but perhaps a lower price than Venice the days of the Biennale could not be found.

Beautiful Hotel on the Grand Canal
We stayed in the family suite and loved our room which opened to a lovely balcony/patio through some french doors facing the Grand Canal. It was beautiful! There were two small tables and plenty of chairs to enjoy the view or share a nice breakfast. The beds were very comfortable. We were relieved that the room was air-conditioned and we slept so well. We were completely happy with our room. Note: the hotel staff strongly prefers to speak with you on the phone about when you will be arriving. They have to meet you and give you keys, instructions etc. Try to contact them the day before you arrive. Communicating via email or text didn't work, speaking to them in person is best.

Nice location, friendly staff, but painful WiFi
The location of this hotel was close to all the shopping and the Rialto bridge. The Hotel staff was very nice and accommodating. The room was very spacious and clean. The view out the windows was... well.... to some narrow water ways, which when you think about it... is the expected view in Venice! We could hear a Gondola passing through once in a while, not too loud at all. TWO issues we encountered. Be aware that there was no "Shower" stall in our room. There was hand held shower head, and a nicely over sized tub, but no shower walls or curtain. This is something you see in Europe less and less, but not unheard of. Since the tub was over sized, there was room to sit and...shower. We all worried we would send the shower into the room... we had to get used to using one hand to shower LOL..... Second problem was the WiFi. it was almost non existent. Each click took 30 seconds or more to respond, sometimes minutes. We had to set up our return transportation to the Airport and spent well over an hour trying to get it done.

Nice and affordable place to Stay
The room was big and nice! The staff was very nice and helpful. There is free breakfast like cereal and croissant with coffee but was good enough. I liked the place! But the bathtub was so small, I could not even stand in the tub. I almost fell a couple of times. Rooms are on the second floor, there are about 30 steps and no elevator. climbing with luggage was painful. One of the staff ladies helped us with one bag so that was really nice of her. So pack only what you can carry! Overall it's a nice place to stay. The nearest boat station is Rialto, but you need about 10 to 15 mins to reach the hotel with luggage.

Convenient
The rooms are nice and so is the staff. Breakfast was included and sufficient. The hotel can be hard to find, but they provide directions via email and it is properly located on Google Maps. My only problem is that the hallway/staircase has a terrible smell, presumably due to lack of ventilation and old carpeting. Our room smelled fine and was equipped with air conditioning.

Less Impressive hotel on a good location.
The stay was with my wife, daughter and myself. We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. The location of the hotel was good. The hotel had little space to enter with poor sized lobby. Then no lift made it difficult to walk the long stairs (specially when you have bags). Staff was good, spoke English, but did not knew anything about other locations. We were surprised when she was not aware where exactly the hotel was located in the map. There were mosquitoes, hence we took proper care of those. Coming to breakfast, the staff was very choosy. You can have only one croissant. Juice was pathetic. It was not a fresh juice. Coffee machine did not produce good coffee or milk.

Eh, so-so
This little hotel could be a gem in the right hands. How did I not know there was NO elevator and that our bathroom was not en suite? The room looked like it was furnished at a second hand store, but it was large, we had a fridge, and is on the Grand Canal. The staff is nice, especially the maid who helped me with my bag. Overall, not bad, but not great either.

Old Venice Charm
If you want to feel old Venice charm, look no further. This room was huge, had a gorgeous set back balcony looking onto the grand canal. We had only one night, but could have happily stayed a week. The only draw back was a tiny bathroom for a family of five and many flights of steps, I think the kids counted over 60, but who cares. It really set the tone for Venice charm. The highest ceilings I've ever seen so it doesn't get hot, aircon small but it's ok. Charming.

Lion Morosini Palace Review
The hotel is hard to find, but the instructions online for finding it were excellent. Hotel is old and worn. I had 2 rooms - 1 bathroom extremely small and smelled - the other bathroom was large with a tub that did not have a shower curtain. Needless to say the bathroom got wet when we showered. We only stayed 1 night and it was okay, but I would try to find a different place if we visit Venice again. Hotel staff was very nice and accommodating.

Overall good value in the off season.
I would say the Lion Morosini Palace is classic small Venician hotel tucked away around the corner (i.e. make sure you locate on a map before hand and read their directions). The rooms were clean and comfortable. A bit noisy if the windows are open or other talking in the adjacent room. The tub was funky and hard to stand in with one's feet together. No view. Very helpful and accommodating staff and a central location.

First time in Venice
Hotel is centrally located, close to Rialto Bridge. We paid $184 dollars/night. Very, very difficult to find (but then every small hotel in Venice is the same. You need to ask and ask for directions from shop around. Close to water and there is a Tavern a few step from hotel, good ambiance. Caution with shower, very small 2' x 4', but floor has a slide shape & slippery. My small feet did not fit on the end of slide section (seriously). Be careful especially if difficult balancing. Breakfast average continental. Yes I would stay there again, price Ok based on location. Staff very good. Wi-Fi Ok.

We stayed in Venice for the last three days of our holiday, at this hotel. It was a short distance from the Riolto Bridge right on the canal. The room was acceptable. The staff member was helpful and friendly The room was on the first floor, but we had to climb 40 steps with our bags as there was no elevator. Our host helped with our bags, she had no problem with this( I believe she had much practice). The location was fantastic!

Although the English was not great by the staff, every employee that we encountered tried very hard to accommodate us and they did! Hotel was easier to find then people suggested but looking where it is on a map before you arrive, definitely will help. The room was a little outdated for American Standards but was very spacious. The bathroom was tiny as it was hard to fit in shower. All in all, great stay, and would recommend this hotel to friends, and would stay at it again.

This hotel is quite tired. Centrally located but extremely hard to find. We spent a lot of time researching exactly where this hotel was located and still had problems finding it. At one time I'm sure this really was a palace but over time it's been chopped up and the rooms are now all "jury rigged" to fit the space. If you stay here watch out for the 40 or so steps to the rooms.

Good stay in central area of Venice
The hotel is in a very busy and central part of the city. It was easy to get anywhere from the hotel. The management was pleasant and helpful. The dock outside the hotel was wonderful and lots of people came to get a drink at the restaurant directly in the hotel building and sit on the dock to view the wonderful sights of Venice. It was a little difficult to find, but with google maps I found it with no mistakes. I think everything except the largest hotels would be a little hard to find as you have to go down small alleyways to reach a lot of places and these aren't necessarily marked you just have to get used to using them.
