The bathroom was dirty, mold in shower around tub & ceiling. Sink fell off the wall when I turned the water on and shattered on the floor. Miss hitting my feet by inches. Toilet was dirty with black growth in bowl. Staff was behind locked door with a doorbell for contact.

Fountain Inn van Wert michigan
Online representation very misleading regarding room size, cleanliness, and overall motel appearance. Small room so crowded that could hardly walk between furniture. Cables strung along walls for tv, very difficult to locate outlets for phones, one small wafer soap for both shower and sink. Hand towel grossly stained air conditioner condenser so loud when kicked in awoke from sleep and then so loud and vibrated .. the longest night ever. Very very overpriced and owner would not compensate anything!!

We didn’t even stay here! It was smelly, rooms weren’t clean and the owner was more interested in her phone than waiting on us!

For $100 the night. Disappointing. The room was not very clean. Fortunately the bedding was clean. Everything felt “less than” clean. Sink was dirty and had hair. Bathtub the same. Everything needed a really good scrubbing. Three police officers showed up and arrested the guy in the room next door. Not sure what that was all about. For $100!! Wouldn’t stay there again.

Don't ever go here! They charged an extra $5 because there were 2 of us. The room smelled smokey, the curtain rod was bent so the drape didn't cover the window, the blanket had holes in it, the mattress was poor, there was only one small bar of soap and no shampoo, just conditioner, the ceiling tiles were loose, and the TV only got one snowy channel.

Not a good place to stay
The room was one of the worst we have stayed in. The bathroom had a step up to it. The sink was so low it was hard to use. The hotel should probably be leveled. I hate to rate one this bad but it is bad. The people taking care of it were quite helpful though , so that was one good thing.

Other places we stayed on this trip were more convenient. The room was too crowded for two people and the price $105.66 which we paid was too much for the condition of the room.

Too expensive for a dated and somewhat run-down property. The manager / staff was nice and easy to work with. The cost for a night's stay was not clear. I had signed up as one guest, but almost got charged for two. Also, they asked for an additional $5 to pay by credit card, so I paid cash. It took a lot of time to get hot water to the room. There were cobwebs on the ceiling. The manager did not mention anything about non-smoking rooms.

Owner right on premises, all the rooms are very clean. No noise, smoking, or pets policy. There’s a lot of us that like that. Inexpensive and a great value on a budget.

I’m a Construction worker, 50 and reserved. I look for the best value I can find. This place is remarkable, it’s on Main Street Smalltown, USA. Right next to park, local coffee shops, and small town stores. They have a sign up, “Smoke free, Pet free, Noise free!” I’ll stay here any time I’m in a 100 mile radius!

Horrible!!!!! Service was questionable...not prfessional at all... dirtiest place ive ever seen. Nothing was cleaned. Nobody to complain to. Nothing worked. Blood stains in bathroom. Hair everywhere ! Stive didnt even work. Wish I could get refund

In the heart of town
The location is excellent as it is in the heart of Van Wert. The staff was friendly. The room was clean, but the furnishings are very dated, but comfortable enough. However, the space is tight. There are no amenities except for cable.

Fountain Inn
This is a family run motel, very friendly and hospitable. The building is very old and could use some renovation but everything worked and was clean. I went to Vanwert for the harvest moon festival and friends, just a few blocks down on Main Street, so I just needed a place to stay after. I enjoyed my time there. I would definitely stay again. The prices were reasonable, nothing fancy.

Needs an inspection!!
We had 3 rooms. One room bathroom sink was clogged. Between the mattress & bedsprings were a pair of jeans (not ours-we check for bedbugs). There were pubic hairs in all 3 showersfrom previous guests & Extension cords for lamps & no plugs for electronics or curling iron. I would not recommend this hotel.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Appallingly bad. Surprise $5 charge added for using credit card (is that even legal?) and was overpriced to begin with. Rude clerk. Room REEKED of mildew (and now all my clothes do too). Not given the room that we reserved. Everything in terrible disrepair. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.

Clean no frills facility. Room was a bit crowded as it appeared the owners tried to ensure the furniture would meet all expectations. I was disappointed to find there was no coffee maker in the room, but there was a refrigerator and a microwave
