I stayed at this motel for only one night when I was on my way from Miami to Michigan, I checked in late at night, I just needed a place to crash, because I was tired of driving and it was right off highway and the price was really cheap.

Cheap but old
Pulled in at 10pm to a parking lot full of squad cars. Office door locked and a police officer inside. They take a deposit for the key and remote. Inexpensive but very old decor.

Relaxing
My boyfriend and I were traveling through and needed somewhere to stay the night. The staff was friendly and the motel looked good. I would recommend this motel to others and I will be stoping there again.

Wow. Not what we were hoping for after 12 hours on the road. Pulled into 1st parking lot to a dark building, no windows, and one car. Decided that wasn't it. Drove on down a dark path to the actual motel. Another gentleman was checking in so we waited. Overheard his conversation with the check-in clerk who asked if he had any kids with him. The man said no and the clerk said that was good since they were going to be on the 2nd floor and that the ceiling and walls were NOT soundproof. (What an understatement. Paper-thin is more like it.) I got the impression not a lot of people make a reservation in advance as our check-in info was already on an index card. We filled in driver's license (?) and plate info and had to sign the back of the card. Weird. Then we had to pay a $5 deposit for the TV remote control + $2 for a room key. Couldn't have 2 keys. I booked this place because it had an indoor pool - which was outside under a glass/plastic dome and a sign on the desk saying the pool was NOT heated. No place to park near our room. (It was raining.) Went to get ice and paid .25 cents for that. Seriously? No plastic liner or lid. In the room - two extremely thin towels & wash cloths. No hand towels. Bug crawling on the desk, in my coffee cup in the morning, and took an insect in my suitcase on the rest of the journey.

Out Of Date Hotel.....
2 prong outlets! I had to call an request a 3 prong outlet connector to plug in my laptop, no blanket on bed, again had to call the office, had to put a cash deposit on the key, the remote....AND the 3 prong plug adapter! Oh, yeah, I had to walk back down to the office to get them as they couldn't bring them to me. It wasn't the hotels fault but the upstairs guests were tromping around like elephants until nearly 5am....needless to say I didn't get a good nights sleep.

Had 4 in room only receive 1 towel and 1 rag. Had to go to front office and ask for more both nights of stay. Air condition didn't work told office personal and was instructed that it would be fixed and wasn't. Pool never available. I would not recommend this hotel @ all to anyone not a good stay.

What you'd expect for the price
I stayed here because of its price. The hotel is a bit rundown, but very clean. Some of the other reviews are quite harsh, but the quality was what you'd expect for the price. The only complaint I had was the area the hotel was in. It seemed unsafe, and in fact I checked on my car outside periodically. But the parking lot is well lit, and it's a good cheap place to stay if that is what you are looking for. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Rooms are worn, mismatched furniture etc. But it's clean. Not enough towels, but the couple they did have were clean. Lot's of open space to walk or run with your dog.The only reason I would really go back is if I had a pet.

Very Nice for the price
For $40 this wasn't a bad place. Only complain was that I could here the people upstairs when they walked around but they were a little obeise. Staff was very friendly even gave me a $5 discount because I checked in so late. They only charge $5 for a pet which is awesome if your a pet owner like me.

It felt like we entered a time machine and went back 30 years. Had to put a $2 deposit for a real key and $5 if you wanted to use the remote. The walls were concrete blocks, my kid wouldn't take a shower without flip flops on. We thought the people above were coming through the ceiling at any minute. There were two police cars there when we arrived escorting someone out. Too many better options in the area to stay there again. Don't do it.

NOT NICE HOTEL RIGHT DOWN FROM STRIP CLUB
ON ARRIVAL I WANTED TO LEAVE, THE ROOM SMELLED BUT I ALWAYS BRING AIR FRESHENER WITH ME. WE WENT TO THE PARK FOR THE DAY AS WE ARE RETURNING TO OUR ROOM, WE COULD BARELY GET IN THE DRIVE WAY BECAUSE A TRUCK IS PARKED IN THE MIDDLE OF IT MAKING OUT. I HAD THREE KIDS WITH ME THAT WATCHED THIS WHILE WE GOT PASSED THEM. THEN AT THE ROOM WE HAD NO PARKING BECAUSE ABOUT FIVE PEOPLE ARE HANGING OUT SMOKING TALKING LOUD ETC. SO THEN WE GO IN THE ROOM TO GET OUT OF OUR WET THING AND GET READY FOR BED, AS SOON AS WE OPENED THE DOOR A ROACH WAS RUNNING ACROSS THE TV. OMG THEN WE TOOK OUR BATH AND THERE WAS NO VENTILATION AND THE BATHROOM SMELLED LIKE MOLDY.

The pool was not heated. And when asked staff they said only during the winter months of December and January. Bedspread was dirty and stained. Bathroom shower ran continuously. It was horrible. And they advertise $24.99 it wasnt. Also it is located behind a strip club.. Never did I see that stated. I will never stay here again..

The hotel is worn. Could hear people upstairs, sheets barely fit on bed, pillows were flat, no soap or amenities. Had to pay for ice and required a deposit for remote and key. Walls in bathroom had recently been repaired very badly and the tub would move up and down when standing in shower. Will not be staying again.

Briarwood motel 2 night stay
For the amount of money per night it was very reasonable, the kids enjoyed the pool. Laundry facilities available . Staff was very friendly, we requested extra blankets which was not a problem . The ice would of been nice if it were free but .25 cents a small bucket was a little strange never stayed at a place where the ice had to be paid for. It was quiet and close to a lot of restaurants and Wild Adventures!! Yay But you get what you pay for and we just needed a place to sleep and dress for our two days at the theme park.

We Stayed Here Because It Was Cheap
And cheap is what we got. I don't know how they can call this a 2-star. It was at least 2 levels below a 1-star. Anyway this place is a dump. The biggest problem is the clientele they attract. Mostly out of town construction workers, some of who have second jobs at night like trying to sell drugs to the customers in the parking lot. Yeah, this happened to us. They charge you a deposit for the room key and the TV remote. That should tell you a lot about their patrons. The rooms are typical with not much in the way of amenities. The pillows are flat and there were only two per bed. Everything else was okay. The plumbing works and the AC works but not sure how it would do in the summertime. We were there on a warm day in January. If you're looking to save money and just looking for a place to sleep then this is your place. Just take precautions and secure your vehicle. One other thing, this place is located behind a strip club if you're into that sort of thing. If you're on a budget this is the best value in Valdosta.

My family and I stayed here for a night. It was Great for the price you pay. The gentleman in the front desk was very nice. We went to the local theme park so we weren't planning on staying in the room but to sleep. There is a strip club down the road but not right next door. You cant see it from the hotel. It wasn't immaculate but decent. I would sleep here again.

Avoid this place!
The alarm flags should have gone up as I turned down the access road. The motel sign is on the same sign as the strip joint. I get to the hotel and you need to deposit $5 for the TV remote! $2 for the room key! Then after entering the room I step out to be greeted by the Valdosta GA police department investigating a disturbance. They get called here at least 2 or 3 times a week. The police man told me to put a chair under the door knob. This is a hotel that should be taken off the Hotels.com site! DO NOT STAY HERE

Great Hotel for a lower income family !
The staff was understanding that we have twin 12 year olds so changed us to down stairs. A good idea and helped being i don't climb stairs well. The staff made sure our rooms were next to each other. and they gave us a refund for the return of the keys and channel changers. The staff was also very nice to the twins .

The staff at the front dest was very sweet and helpful, but the area in which this Hotel was in was a lil scary. There were alot of ppl there that look kind of suspicous if you know what I mean. It is an old Hotel that could use a good up keep cleaning and so fourth.

This motel is in need of an update. Everything is old and dirty.The charged a deposit on the room key and the remote control for the TV. There was no blanket on the bed,just the dirty, nasty bedspread.I never use the bedspreads while sleeping because they are never washed. They are used over and over again. I will never stay there again

It was different cause we had to use a key instead of a key card. But the sign said heated pool but it wasn't. It was easy on and off the highway. The motel is an old school motel which made it pretty cool.

EVER SEE THE MOVIE WRONG TURN
let me tell ya about this hotel. driving the road through some woods i started to think i was in the movie wrong turn.i was waiting for some deformed creature to jump out and kill me. The room was just as bad smelled of wet dog thought about looking under the bed but was scared of what i might find (maybe a head). But if you get bored there is a strip club right as you turn on to the road to the dead wood motel. So needless to say i will never stay here again.

Very tired lodging, badly in need of updates, including linens without holes!
I made this reservation based on a nominal, but not poor, rating this hotel received, and a low room rate. I was traveling with a pet, so an accommodation was expected. But this place is a dump! Filthy bed spread, no blanket, holes in the sheets, carpeting had that "sticky" feel. Need I go on? To give a further sense of the place, "guests" were required to leave a $2 refundable deposit for the room key! I thought my brother had been the king of finding "cheap" hotels, but I may have taken the lead after my Briarwood experience. Too many other lodging choices near by to select this one.
