We requested an early Check In and this was not possible. Secondly at the time of the Check In One of the Rooms we had booked was not ready. The Bathroom in the Main Bedroom was Not Cleaned Properly. The Sleeper Couch was not made when we requested it to be made. The Complimentary Food was not served as promised. There were numerous Service Level Problems.

The hotel was not up to standard. I had a quarter of a roll for toilet paper. Which is disgusting in my opinion. Its practically been used so much. Then they dont have individual use shampoo, lotion and body wash. It is in mass bottles, atrached in the bathroom & to the sink. This is so sketchy. What if other guests put stuff in there amd i have to now use it. This i would expect from a 2 star. To save costs. Not a reputable brand like the Hilton, a 4 star hotel!!

The hotel is very cold and staff very direct, and unwelcoming The room service, don’t pick up, so does housekeeping. U have to resort to calling front desk for assistance. Took the housekeeping 3 hours to bring me a camp cot. No breakfast to the room, via room service!!! Omg, how can u not have room service. Further to that, you have to pay for your parking. r50 a day! Rip off! What do u get as a guest? Nothing but free bottle water ? For Hilton group, I was disappointed ! Hope you use this to better your service

Great hotel to use as a base
The hotel staff are excellent. Very professional and extremely well presented. It is conveniently located with many eateries around. Very comfortable bedding and rooms in general. My only negative was the dinner I had the one night - the fish was extremely dry and no mushy peas as advertised. But other than that I will definitely stay there again.

I booked an overnight stay at the Hilton on a DBB basis, which also happened to be on our daughter's birthday. I phoned the hotel and told them we would be having the dinner to celebrate the birthday. I can not thank Vanessa Stanley and Mtho enough for the way they took care of us. They really made the day so special. The inclusive dinner is very limited but the food was cooked beautifully and the portions way more than we could eat. My son loved the kids check in counter and all the welcome games. Its really a nice touch. The family rooms are two interleading rooms which is great coz then each room has it's own bathroom and the rooms have privacy.

Fabulous hotel, fabulous location, fabulous staff and fabulous service. Perhaps would be nice to include an indoor pool - or at least a shade over the pool - Durban sun is blistering so couldn't make the most of it. But all in all a great holiday.

A few tweaks and it would be perfect
Everyone is very helpful and goes out of their way to assist, which is such a nice change for South African service levels! I was a little disappointed with breakfast - paying for a barista Cappucino feels ridiculous with the price for a room. I also don't expect unflavoured scrambled eggs loaded with milk, or to wait in a queue for toast - consider another toast station? Please also ensure the pool stays clean and that there are more umbrellas and seats set up so people can lounge - this was not because of social distancing as there was more than enough space. There could be at least 4 more set up on the other sides of the pool. Thanks to housekeeping - what an excellent job and the porter lady in the lift who took our towel back to the pool - the service and attitudes are lovely!
