Lovely setting in old palace with nicely modernized rooms. The pool, however, was NOT easily accessible. It required climbing down (and then up) over 5-stories of garden stairs and then walking 100 yards to the "free-fire zone" pool -- totally in full sun -- where there were no tables, chairs, lounges, nor umbrellas.
When we abandoned our effort to take that miserable hike, the staff failed to inform us nor offer to open a "hidden" gate so we could drive down the hill to the pool. It was an extremely hot day and we really wanted a swim. When we later learned of the one other option to get down to the pool, they were closing it and the staff just shrugged and said "oh well". Pool hours were too limited -- 11am until 8 pm -- considering they did not have any staff on duty there.
As we found in most Parador hotels, staff are not ready to offer options nor think creatively to solve minor problems. They seem to be on the job just to process you through your stay.
