Stopped here as it was "near" (an hour away) to the Eagle's Nest which we were visiting the following day and one if the more reasonably priced hotels available at short notice (€148). Hotel setting is lovely, parking our car opposite by the park in which we had our evening meal from a Steak House restaurant on the corner. Room was large, clean, quite dated but fit the style of the hotel which is over 100 years old. Good choice of breakfast in the morning. No negatives to call really, definately recommend.

Comfortable and convenient
Great hotel, central to the town ( anout 5 minutes walk to the main square), but quiet giving a restful night. Private and secure parking is available at no extra cost which is a significant benefit, particukarly for motorcycles. Easy to find and would highly recommend. Didn't use the restaurant so cannot comment; good continental breakfast available with convenient hours. Unsure of when the bar/ restaurant was open, but I'm sure if you asked reception they would let you know. We were staying in March which is really off-season.

A comfortable stay
Is a nice budget and cozy hotel. The staff was friendly and the bed was comfortable. The building is historical and has a good charm to it. I do not have any complaints. They could eventually slightly mordernize the interiors at least the guest rooms.

Quaint hotel, great service, good value
We were passing through the area, and stayed one night at the Parkhotel. It’s a quaint German hotel. The two floor room had lots of space, and included a kitchen and living quarters. Breakfast in the morning was great (buffet included). Great and happy service (unlike a few other hotels in Germany), all spoke English. Good value. Location is in the center of town, within walking distance of many restaurants.

Very nice hotel in Traunstein !
Second time around at this hotel. Great place to stay for a couple of nights in a quiet, relaxing sorrounding. Very nice staff and very good breakfast buffet. Convenient parking and close to everything in this very nice town.

Very nice hotel in beautiful Traunstein
The hotel is right next to the park and is very easy to access and park. The staff is very friendly and nice. The room was OK, small in size but with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The breakfast is very good and the restaurant very cozy. Great option for a fair price!

Will visit again!
Second visit to this hotel. Great service as before, fantastic buffet breakfast and beer garden. The hotel has a good menu for evening meals too. We were informed we had a family suite, and we were all surprised and delighted to find we had been given the "residenz", a suite with mezzanine bedroom and it's own kitchen. Some of the fixtures and fittings are a little tired but this didn't detract from our enjoyment of the visit. We will definitely visit again next year. Traunstein is a great base for visiting Lake Chiemsee, the alps are 20 minutes away by bus, Salzburg is 30 minutes by train.

Nice hotel in heart of dpwntown
We stayed here for. 2 nights recently. Parking was a problem but everything else was great. Breakfast was good and our room was very clean. Would recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel in great location.
Very nice hotel in a great location. The room was huge and comfortable with big windows overlooking the park. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking was conveniently located just out the front door. Great breakfast! There is a little wear and tear but the hotel is pretty old and everything else made up for it!

Get the lake view room!
Beautiful location and view! There is no air conditioning, so it could get hot in the summer. The hotel staff was very helpful, breakfast was delicious, and service was great! The downtown is easy to get to. Very good espresso machine in the room, too!

Green and Peaceful
The peaceful area across from park was welcome after a long travel day. Within walking distance of train station and old town center. Friendly staff and wonderful breakfast in lovely restaurant.

Quaint hotel
We wanted to stay near Salzburg and found this gem because of the price. Although it was 20 km away, it was 25-30 euro cheaper. It was a very pretty and quaint hotel out of the 1920s (that is a positive). The restaurant and breakfast were great. The wifi was free and was the fastest we had in Europe anywhere by a long shot. Definitely worth the short drive to Salzburg or Berchtesgarden.

The stay was good and comfortable, the hotel is in the center of the city but it's an old fashioned building. Very large rooms, sitting rooms, work desk, two televisions. Again, an old hotel. Free parking, open and garage. Good restaurant.

Friendly atmosphere very good service.
Location excellent, atmosphere very congenial. Cannot think of anything negative to say but we would have welcomed tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Also, in spite of Euro News being included in TV choice there was no English speaking channel available on the TV amongst the 20 or so channels. I would have thought that with satellite availability plus the international use of English, at least the BBC or CNN should be added to the choice of TV channels.

Das Frühstück war gut, das Zimmer in die Jahre gekommen und eher erschreckend. Auch wenn ich ein Einzelzimmer gebucht habe, weiß ich nicht, wann ich das letzte Mal in einem Kinderbett geschlafen habe. Teppichboden überall, Billig-Möbel, Dusche mit hohem Einstieg, Bad ohne Fenster. Das Zimmer - ein Schlauch. Ein Hotel, das in die Jahre gekommen ist. Und in dem wenig renoviert wurde und wird. Charme einer alten und vergessenen Zeit.

Wir haben im Rahmen einer Radtour leider nur eine Übernachtung gehabt, aber wir haben ein upgrade bekommen. Darüber haben wir uns sehr gefreut. Ansonsten war alles andere auch klasse, so dass wir sicherlich wieder kommen werden.
