The staff person was super nice and extremely accommodating. Easy to check in and out. The breakfast/hot breakfast was terrific! One thing--the decor was really weird. It's a beautiful cabin-like atmosphere with a stone fireplace, but the "living room" has these weird art deco pictures of former presidents like Washington. Like they're bright colors, have blocks of colors over their faces and bodies. It's weird. There should be pictures of fishermen and women, Indigenous people, forests, lakes, etc.

Thank you Richard for your review of the AmericInn in Thief River Falls. You can almost never have enough trash you in a high traffic area, we can add another. When you say "need a better handicap room" that offers me no information on what you thought needing improving or what could be better. Feel free to come and discuss these ideas next time to stay with us!

The good: Comfortable bed, clean room with good water pressure and temp. The not so good: 30 minute wait to check in without acknowledgement while the single desk person was joking and flirting with one customer needing a reservation; both keys did not work on Day 2 resulting in having to carry everything back down the stairs (no elevator) to get a new key; and despite two conversations at the desk and the promise of leaving notes for the staff on the next day, a ‘mistake’ was made with my back-to-back reservations resulting in someone else being checked in and given access to my unserviced room and belongings while I wasn’t there. I only found out while chatting with the people given access who asked if ### was my room. I was never contacted by the manager about these issues as requested.

Did not get the room we paid for. They kept saying the reservation was changed and it was not. Bed was worn out. Hot tub was not very hot. Breakfast was very limited.

Couldn’t get into our room. Door handle wax broken. Front desk staff were not helpful. Rude. No socializing in the lobby. They control your breakfast by serving it to you. Will never stay there again.
