Jade, (Assistant Manager) was courteous, accomodating and very helpful! From check-in to prep for an early morning check-out and various requests in between, she was my 'go-to' person. I appreciate her time and effort to making my stay go well.

I stayed here for one night. The location is a little out of town, although it looked easy to get to by bus and was actually a pleasant walk. The main problem with the location is that there aren't many restaurants nearby and most were closed by 8pm. The hotel does offer dinner, but bizarrely not at the weekend. The bed was comfy although narrow. The bathroom felt very cramped, but the shower was pleasant.

Only stayed here for work, but super hard to get Uber to show up, had to wait 30 min for a taxi, be advised if you do not have a car. property was very basic and clean.

This was a one night stop over on our holiday in Belgium and Holland. No evening meal in the hotel but found a great pub about 10 minutes walk away.

Great hotel friendly staff even though we are on covid19 room was clean and perfect staff was very friendly and helpful food was ok would stay again and highly recommend to anyone who wants a cheap hotel

The bastion hotel is amazing. The breakfast was good and the coffee machine is available every hour for guests! The staff is super friendly and English speakers. The only problem that I had was the mattress stiffness that was so soft that I am not used to it. Strongly recommended!

Quiet location, close to airport
I enjoyed my stay here for one night. Only a short 15 minute bus ride into Leiden Central. Breakfast and dinner here are pretty decent. They just run out of some ingredients at the end of the night. The hotel staff is a small group but they keep the hotel running very efficient.

Adequate hotel with good location
Booked this purely for its location close to Leiden Central and family. Nothing exceptional and rooms are perfectly fine however, there was no kettle in my room, the safe was faulty and on the one day no fresh towels were provided. I reported all this but it wasn't ever fixed so a bit disappointing in service.

Handy for the tulip gardens
Great. On busy road and close to motorway but had good nights sleep. Room had 2 chairs which made a pleasant change. No tourist leaflets for Amsterdam or maps which was disappointing. Waste bin not emptied every morning by cleaner.

Not near train station
The hotel is a 15 Euro taxi ride from the train station with no restaurants nearby. They don't tell you that you need to take bus number 20 or 21.The rooms are over priced given how basic they are.

Great choice of for a Hotel in Leiden.
I have stayed at the Bastion for the past few weeks and have advance bookings for the next two weeks. My stay has been most enjoyable, with very friendly and helpful staff, the chef, Michael, is very good at his profession. I have never been dissappointed with any aspect of my stay at the Bastion, all in all, no complaints.

A good hotel, in a convenient situation
We needed a moderately priced hotel, with ease of access, parking and a restaurant, within a reasonable distance of the Keukenhof Gardens and Delft. The Bastion hotel fitted all these requirements. We enjoyed a very pleasant stay.

Worst hotel in the planet
I've been traveling for 20 years and this hotel just ranked #1 in my worst hotels ever. The corridor stinks, it smells to alcohol, smoke and sweat. The beds are the smallest beds of the planet, and there is no way that you open the bathroom door to let it ventilate a little bit. Service is unfriendly, it is far from Amsterdam and far from EYE institute (if you see it in their PR lists). They charge 14 euros for an old fruit, lousy coffee, no napkin, no silverware breakfast. Find something in the city, Stay away from this hole.
