The hotel is very nice however value for the price is not there. We were one of two guests total which should indicate to management that maybe price is too high. Property is farther from centro but is literally only hotel allowing dogs for an extra cost. The staff was really great and included breakfast was amazing.

The people on the back of the La casona has a rooster so he starts making this noise since 2:00 am till 12:00 pm so don’t let you sleep at all they give you something for your ears so you can not hear anything but still hear 😏

We loved this small hotel. Each room is individually decorated and unique. The breakfast was simple but wonderful and set us up for a day of exploring. The staff was attentive; we lacked for nothing. We found the bed a bit uncomfortable, too hard for our taste, but we managed. They brought us ice and stem wine glasses on request. We will definitely stay again.

We had a delightful stay, the hotel caters to all your romantic needs. Firewood for fireplace daily,nespresso machine for great espresso coffe, amazing breakfast options by Alfonso and all is included in the price. Great excursion options to see.

What a lovely experience staying at Hotel La Casona. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was nicely arranged and I enjoyed my balcony setup overlooking Tapalpa centro in the distance.

Comfortable and very authentic feeling. The only cons are that not everything listed on Expedia ( such as a pool and breakfast buffet) actually exist, and rage WiFi is non-functional in most rooms because of thick stone walls.

Uniquely decorated rooms, very pretty. Wood for fireplace which we used, cozy and warm and romantic, also candles. Good shower (water pressure, hot water). Super nice house keeper and front desk service. All in all a really nice experience and we would stay there again.

This is a very unique property with rooms decorated with various themes. We were assigned to an angels theme and a Huichol one... we enjoyed the premises very much

Wonderful night in Tapalpa at la Casona Hotel..
We found the Hotel Casona to be very comfortable. It’s is a bit of a walk to the center but that made it nice for sleeping in the very comfortable beds...very quiet. Each of the 20+ room had different whimsical decorative themes...very fun.

Lovely hotel right outside a lively town
This is a lovely, well-maintained, and comfortable hotel a few minutes outside of downtown Tapalpa. This keeps the noise level down, as Tapalpa is definitely a lively town, but with several parties going on in the area, the noise level is still relatively high. Also, while the rooms are very spacious and comfortable, and appear the be solidly built, you can still hear everything that goes on outside of the room, so if guests come home late at night (or early morning), the door and windows do nothing to keep out their voices. Having said that, it is a lovely hotel, with very friendly staff, and an amazing breakfast, and I would definitely stay here again. Perfect if you want to get away from it all. And if you want to tour around the area, the reception desk will make all the arrangements for you.

Hello, good day, it is a little disconcerting to read this, because one of the characteristics of this hotel is precisely hospitality, it is interesting to read this after the experience of us as service providers, because there are some demands of the Guests that is difficult to meet, how to let the pet loose in the hotel, close the front door of the entrance to allow the pet has freedom, make room changes at the last minute or allow our staff to receive a bad treatment. Tapalpa is a magical and peaceful town, its people also and it is characterized by that, I regret that there are places that are not for certain demands, however we know that your family was very happy, due to the survey they answered at Sunday breakfast and they express precisely the opposite, we are sorry that their personal perception has been the opposite. Regards!

Nice hotel
Hotel is about 5 min walk to downtown-if you visit when you see fire station and ambulance post make a left and go about a block before you cross bridge make another left and that will take you to la casona,. Instead of going into town and getting lost I will stay here, room is good cold but confortable. It has a fireplace in case you want stay warm. Everybody was attentive.breakfas was good 9-11am

Go, it will heal your soul.
A wonderful welcome. Even the roadworks, which are now finished, did not diminish the joy of being there. A truly healing and happy place. The rooms are all different but all equally wonderful. Elevation is abou 7K feet so the fireplace lit at night and giving a bit of warmth all the way to dawn is most welcome.

Nice Hotel
The hotel is quaint and is in good condition. The room was quite comfortable and very clean. The staff were friendly and very polite. After check-in the manager accompanied us to our room to make sure that we found it to be satisfactory. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood and is located about a 10 or 15 minute walk from El Centro which is perfect for those of us who enjoy walking. i would definitely stay there again.

Very clean and quiet hotel ran by a family.
We were there as a couple, for two nights. Lovely. The only draw back was that the wood was not dry enough so we were unable to build a long lasting fire. I did not give a 5 on room cleanliness due to damaged wood around the doors. But it added to the charm. We had an espresso machine in the room and we loved that. The room was very clean.We had plenty of blankets which made it heavy for us since we are not used to living in a cold area. The hotel is located in a residential area, not the best but the hotel is lovely. Great decorations, very Mexican, a wonderful breakfast offered in the morning. During the day we travelled all around visiting various sites. We do recommend this hotel if you want to be away from the center of town.

We arrived by bus only to discover the one taxi in town was not answering the phone and when we called the hotel they rudely insisted that there is always a taxi at the taxi stand, so we had to walk 10 blocks or so with our luggage, ( which we had a lot of because we were travelling with a baby and the hotel does not provide baby cribs) suffice to say we did not get off to a good start. however the room was nice the hotel offered a filling breakfast and hand made soaps, each room has fireplace with wood laid out for a fire. If I every end you going back to Tapalpa I would consider staying here again

Quaint and rustic, old and lovely
While we loved the hotel and the staff we almost froze to death. When the fire went out at night, no numbers of blankets could keep us warm. While we are used to cold weather coming from Canada, our homes are all heated. In this town no one has heated homes. I would recommend coming in the spring or summer when it doesn't get so cold at nights. Also, that rooster right outside our window starts in at 4:00 a.m., impressing my husband no end!!

We'll be back!
Great from start to finish. It was our second time there and will return again. A remarkably restful and welcoming atmosphere in this family run (try the Rosca cake) for breakfast. We had one baked on the morning we were leaving and got huge ooohs ahs and yums back home.

We liked everything they provided. The hotel is a little hard to find the first time. Be sure to call ahead to get the direction or get a map for it once you are in the town. The city is beautiful. The road around it needed work. The toll road from Guadalajara made the trip much easier.

Es un lugar tranquilo y el personal es como de la familia, siempre están atentos a las necesidades. Su desayuno incluido es muy rico. Las habitaciones y el baño son suficientes. Lo mejor de allí es el trato del personal.
