Novotel Suva Lami Bay

"Overall, a very pleasant experience staying at Novotel. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, even offering late check out, uninitiated by me, at no extra cost. I would definitely pay the extra for the second floor rooms (deluxe room and above). The increase in price is relatively minor, and the privacy and views from your balcony is well worth it. I would be wary of the restaurant, however. I ordered pasta that had a broken, oily sauce, and a creme brulee that was obviously baked and not actually brulee (no crispy sugar crust which is, let's be honest, at least 50 percent of that dish), and the custard was lumpy. That being said, I was genuinely pleased with my experience and, if I ever end up in Fiji again, this will be my go-to hotel choice (I'll just order delivery from another establishment). Pros: Excellent, friendly service. Lovely view. Very quiet and serene. Nice pool and lounging decks Beautiful lobby, bar, and restraunt. Cons: Generally clean, but I did see a dead cockroach in the hallway that was there for both nights and all three of my days at the hotel. Makes me a bit concerned about general cleanliness. There were a couple of broken things in the room, but nothing I couldn't live with. The food is suspect. I wouldn't order anything beyond basic sandwiches and such."

"The room itself was great and the kitchen was well equipped. The staff were super friendly. Our room had a balcony with great views of the surrounding areas. The hotel's location was convenient for our trip as its walking distance from the centre of Suva town, which was great for shopping and places to eat."

"The on night duty staff was making a lot of noise making video call and talking that loud. staff bring there kids at the work place when we try to have a rest they have been making a lot of noise and running around the area, so we couldn’t rest well."

"The staff was always friendly and engaging but the service wise at the bars and restaurants was slow. It takes ages before they will reach out and offer a drink or food menu. The hotel doesnt provide any tours and doesn’t collaborate with the travel agencies to offer such services. They dont have any entertainment either, it feels like you stay in the retirement community. 🙃 It is centrally located within the walking distance to the major institutions and downtown area."

"Very good hotel and location. Parking is secure. Hotel rooms are clean. Temp in the room was 16 Deg C and the thermostat did not work. The bath is nice but the water seeps below the shoeer glass all across the bath. The door security chain lock is installed incorrectly. When you open the door, the chain comes off. Basic maintenance i s lacking."

"No hot water and the shower head holder is broken and keeps coming off. The room smelled musty on arrival. There was water under the bed and under the bedside table. I stood on it when I got out of bed. Lighting was very poor in the room and the room is so outdated"
