Nice hotel, an old building that was retrofitted to be a modern hotel. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice and clean with a large bathroom. Breakfast was very nice buffet style. There is a mall behind it with shopping, groceries and restaurants. US Embassy is a 20 minute walk. You can find pretty much anything you need in a short walk. The only problem was the noise. There was a party or something going on until 3 am. Quite unpleasant.

This hotel is a hidden gem. Hotel Karlaplan is located near Karlaplan, one of the premier addresses in the city of Stockholm. The hotel is not large, there is no fancy lobby, and the rooms and showers are small. But the location is supreme, the rooms are clean and well maintained, and they serve the same massive buffet breakfast as the top hotels in Stockholm. The staff, from the front desk to the kitchen, is outstanding. This is a small hotel, in a quiet residential area, a short walk from shopping and the metro station, where the staff will go the extra mile to make your stay perfect.

Basic room, was exactly what I paid for. Well located, staff were professional. good breakfast. Good value for money. Hotel didn't have much in terms of facility/lounge etc

Amazing little Hotel that’s close to everything
Great location, friendly staff, comfortable bed…. Hotel is a walking distance to Vasa museum, Nordic museum, shopping, great restaurants…..

Extremely dissapointing, not a 4 star hotel
Red carpet at the entrace, and here is where the 4 star experience starts and ends. Got a tiny room with child-size bed. I've never slept in such a tiny bed, too small for an adult male. Insufficient, old and chipped furniture. Paint and doors all over the hotel needs refreshing, bathroom needs urgent refreshing as well. Paper thick walls where you can hear everything the neighbors do and heavy doors that get slammed during the night. Rooms need soundproofing, as you will woke up several times during the night because of the neighbors and hallway noise. Breakfast is decent. Location is good. Cleaning is very good. However, my overall experience was bad. As a frequent traveler, I dont think I've had a most disappointing experience with another hotel. Not recommended for business trips and if you need silence to sleep well during the night. I got a 2-star experience for a 4-star price. I will not return to this hotel.

Swedish Surprise!
The hotel was located near the museum’s, shopping and restaurants. We were able to walk everywhere and, when we stayed in, the room was quite comfortable. We were also fortunate enough to have our own balcony.

Broken bed and zero customer service
The bed was broken and when I informed the staff about it, they just told me to contact the manager, but couldn't even bother writing down the contact information. They promised to forward my mail if I sent it to the hotel, but I never got a reply or anything. Not an excuse, nor any customer service. All in all, don't waste your money here. The room feels cheap for the high price that I paid. You can find much more affordable hotels with much higher standards than this one.

Small but perfect!
The room was tiny but the beds were very comfortable. The location is good - we were within a 20 minute walk from everywhere we wanted to be. The breakfast offered had a wide range of options, and even a garden to enjoy it in as well. A 24/7 coffee/tea/snack station that was always stocked. The staff couldnt do enough to make our stay great! I travel a lot and dont normally leave reviews but i just had to as i was so impressed by the experience.

Booked a single room. Pretty cheap but unacceptable for 3* hotel. Noisy (poor sound insulation), dirty (behind bed), poor bed & furniture and lack of ventilation (was in a basement without a window). Decent breakfast, if rather overrun. Check in efficient. This hotel could be so much better with a little effort by the owners and a refurb.

The pnly problem with the room was the lack of electrical outlets pn the one side of the bed. Thete was an outlet - well blocked for use by the pipes in the room.

Charmigt hotell med bra frukost
Vi gillade Hotel Karlaplan. Ett charmigt, gammaldags hotell med relativt enkla rum och väldigt trevlig frukostbuffé. Läget var dessutom perfekt för oss nära Karlaplan. Vi kommer gärna tillbaka.

Great Location however not what expected
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights from a recommendation from a friend. The good: the hotel staff at the front desk was very pleasant and nice location (walking distance to many things including restaurants). The not so good: the shower had no way to control water so after every shower the floor was soaked and slippery, the room was very tiny for a king bed, the housekeeping knocked on our door twice at 9 AM, and the last morning the breakfast made us very ill. Coming again, I would look at another hotel before booking here again. The location was excellent though and that was very important to us.

Very “Reasonable” Hotel
Everything is “reasonable” about this hotel. The price is reasonable, the location is reasonable, cleanliness is reasonable. For expensive Stockholm, this is a very reasonable hotel. It is not glamorous, but absolutely acceptable. I would stay here again and recommend it to my friends

Well situated with limited service
Well situated budget hotel in central Stockholm, good value for the location. However, absolutely not worthy of the 4 stars displayed by the entrance. No A/C, and even though situated in Northern Europe, almost impossible to sleep during our 7 nights in mid June 2021 because of the room temperature. For this reason, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS. Generally (with exceptions) fairly poor service level. Room in need of upgrade, with shower head in poor condition, and bathroom sink draining extremely slowly. Not attended to, even though we informed the reception already after the first night (out of 7). On the plus side, very good breakfast (warm and cold) included in our price, making the total price of our 4 bed room very reasonable.
