I've stay here a few times and would stay again. Rooms have always been very clean and staff has always been very courteous. It does seem as though ownership hasn't put much resource into updates/upkeep in quite some time and we got the impression that facility is probably understaffed at the moment.

The hotel smelled funny and was very dirty and every day I had to go get my cards fixed because they would deactivate and the person at the front desk did not know what they were doing

The staff was not helpful at check in. They watched as we took the incorrect elevator to our room. They seemed unaware of the dining options in the area. The hotel is dated but it was clean and quiet.

Right in the middle of town - the Hotel Mead has always been the top destination in Wisconsin Rapids. You can walk anywhere from the Hotel Mead. Adding the breakfast was a great add to help our decision in choosing the Hotel Mead. I do have to comment that the selection was decent but the hot food options were sometimes scarce but quickly replenished. The kitchen has promise but it is not there. Having a chef on staff should d give this hotel the upper hand in the breakfast area. The pool and hot tub area was nice and the fitness center was clean and offered a variety of work out options. The room was clean and accommodating. We had a suite which met our needs nicely. Overall the hotel is is very nice but could use some TLC. The lobby is gorgeous and the addition of the amazing massage chairs is an experience all need to experience ! The housekeeping staff was very helpful and for night staff at the front desk was very efficient upon our very late check in. We also brought our four legged children with us. Having this hotel as a pet friendly option pushed the Hotel Mead to the top of the list of places to stay in Wisconsin Rapids. I know we will return to this hotel next time we are in town. This is where I grew up so it will be a frequent stop.

Breakfast was not great, but it was ok. If people are load in the first floor atrium, you will hear it in your room (loudly). Bathroom needs update - peeling paint on ceiling, etc. Water pressure non-existent. Coffee was cold. Hotel was full and they didn't ever have enough pool towels.

I wish the pool was open until 11:00 pm. The staff was very nice and helpful. Very close to check out time 2/25/24, could not get keys to open the room The house keeping staff on the 4th floor was very helpful!

No one was there to check us in waited 10 minutes. Our room TV only had 5 channels shower handle was broken and fan didn't work. Whirlpool jets didn't work and water was barely warm. I will not be staying there again front desk was tild not accommodating at all

you could tell it’s either under new management or remodeling or something. Most of the spaces were like ghost towns. The ladies bedroom by the grand ballroom was smelly either old or just a bad odor. I just attended a VFW event this past weekend, February 2 &3. Two positive things, the housekeeping smiled and You could tell they are doing their job well because my room was clean and neat. The young lady that checked me in on February 2 was on it. She had a few late check-ins She was fast. Great customer service. Both her and the lady the next day we’re doing the best they can, with the over 100 attendees for this Veteran organization event. I was wondering where Management was no management in site besides them texting and waiting always for an answer. Maybe make one of the managers if not even one assistant or any manager can be present Such a nice big hotel. It’s lacking staff and lighting and I hope it could be saved. It’s a big area with lots of potential.

A Disappointment
It was a very poor experience. First of all, there was no blanket in the room, and it was 30 below windchill outside. I called for one, and they were not able to bring it to me, but rather, I had to go down in my coat and get it as I was already in my pajamas. They said if I waited a while they would bring it but I wanted to go to bed. Then, in the morning, my husband took a shower and the tub didn't drain at all, so there were 3 inches of water in the tub. We called, and there wasn't anyone to come and fix it, so I asked if I could go to another room to have a shower, and, even though they asked me to come and get the key for another room, they brought it up. After that, we wen t to the breakfast to find the room was freezing cold. There was no milk nor sugar for the cereal, which was the only appealing item, and the coffee was cold. The muffins and bread were very dry as they had been sitting out for hours in the open air. Finally, when I called to complain to hotels.com about this, they faked speaking with Hotel Mead's manager and told me they could do nothing to help me because they had already sent Hotel Mead the money so I needed to call the manager. When I called Hotel Mead to speak with a manager, I was told no one was there but that one would call me as soon as possible. I haven't received a call, and it's been over a week. What a disappointment.

The pool was freezing, the hot tub was down, the heat in our room didnt stop running, the hot water did not work, food could not be ordered over the phone and had to be done in person, the ATM was down and the breakfast was almost gone at 730am.

We ended up checking out with our family of four earlier than expected. Our room appeared to be fairly clean, but we quickly discovered dried human blood on the walls outside of our room. We also immediately noticed the elevators were in much need of a deep clean, broken ice machines, poor quality keycards and sensors, closed hotel kitchen, “safety” cones placed over hazardous screws right next to the pool. We used to love staying here, but will be staying elsewhere next time.

At check in the front desk person who checked me in was very unprofessional and disrespectful about the spelling of my last name. She also was 'dancing' around saying she had to use the bathroom. It was not a good first impression. there also was not good direction on how to get to my room. It was not an inviting experience. I will say however, there were a couple of other ladies in the area who were very nice and professional.

The did not have much for a restaurant outside of frozen pizzas and while I booked through Expedia they would not take off the tax and expedia said it was the hotel and they would not give a discount as I left due to a snowstorm ( I was traveling for work). In addition the lock on my door was broken. Front desk staff were polite but I never heard back regarding my tax exemption question.
