A little bit of a wait checking in. Room was small with queen size bed but we got to upgrade to larger room with king bed and a very quiet, clean room. Staff was accommodating and friendly. We would recommend this hotel to friends going to SF Ballet like we did and it is only a 10 minute walk to Opera House and Symphony and Asia Art Museum. Great place to stay for cultural events around Civic Center. Lot of homeless people outside but, this is the Tenderloin district and we didn't feel too uncomfortable.

If you want to pay only $90/night like I did then you have to accept the condition of the hotel. Rooms are small, washrooms are very small and don't have a sink. 3 washrooms are shared by many rooms (they have private washrooms for higher prices). The shower is also very small. For the breakfast expect only a coffee and a donut. The bed is old, shaking and noising. For the WIFI you have to go to the lobbies because the signal doesn't reach upstairs.
If you're looking only for a place to sleep to during your stay or looking to discover San Francisco with lower budgets, then you may find this place ok for you. Check the hotel prices!!!
The location is central few steps from the BART station, the Muni light train and few blocks from the Powell St. line of the cable car. There are LOTS of homeless in the area but they seem friendly.

This is a new little inn. It is shared bathrooms and showers but has a sink in the room. It is very safe as you need a key to come in to the building. They have cameras everywhere. Very clean. There is one person in charge which also lives in the inn and he is very friendly and helpful. They offer free internet which is very fast. Free continental breakfast between 7 and 10am. However, it is located above a bar which makes it very noisy at night. My husband and I are heavy sleepers and were very tired after walking around the city but if you are a light sleeper I wouldn't recommend staying here.

Rooms are microscopic but have everything you'd need, unless you need space. Shared shower - not much of an issue; shared bathroom - not much of an issue. Not terribly soundproof but wasn't a problem until the weekend. Staff was wonderful, helpful, welcoming, kind. Suuuuper cute place. Historic with modern flair. No 80s art or bedding.

Had a nice time spending a 3 day weekend in San Francisco. It was our first time there and found this hotel to be at a convenient location and good price. Ricky at the front desk was very helpful and made good recommendations. Clean hotel room with free parking, hbo, mini fridge, and microwave which we found to be nice perks.

Great hotel- nicely designed and good quality overall.
We stayed in the rooms on the outside/downstairs, beside the car park. It was very quiet and much more convenient than staying in the main hotel.
The area is very good. It's a 10 min walk to union square and Westfield centre. Very close to market for buses and trams. There are a fair few crazies around mission/7th but that's to be expected when you are up around that end of town. Never had a problem at all with anyone- all very friendly and I felt safe even at night.
We used the facilities in the sister hotel across the road- laundry, really good and really quick and only $2/3 for a big load.
