Fairly clean, bathroom and beds ok. Aircon is good but a little loud. No outdoor pool but a nice indoor pool. Gym is sparse but it’ll do. Laundry facilities good. Staff a little slow in replacing fire alarm battery so we had to change rooms. Breakfast left much to be desired. No waffles or pancakes. No bacon ever only sausage. No milk for cereal on my last day. Bananas on my first day and none the rest of the time, and only stale apples. No other fruits. No fresh oatmeal. Very sparse. Coffee, decaf coffee, and teas pretty good and available 24 hours.

The AC mounted above my bed leaked on me. No water pressure and no hot water. I was able to move to a room more towards the front of building and AC and Shower were fine. In subsequent stay the AC would not stay running and room was warm. Have stayed there several times in the past without issue. Seems to have gone downhill in the last few years. Also, front desk guy wreaked of marijuana...

I am so very sorry for all of the issue that you had during your stay here with us. We are working very hard to make improvements with our boilers to eliminate the hot water issue we are experiencing. I will look into the a/c issues and apologize that you had to grow through having to be leaked on by a/c and be moved from your room. I will also be looking into the issue with my Guest Service Representative as this is not the appropriate behavior for my staff. I hope you will give us another chance in the future after I have had some time to work through these issues.

We have just had our pool heater fixed and are waiting for the health inspector to come and check the water to make sure all of the chemicals are set right. We charge deposits to help us recover the cost of any damages that occur to our rooms, terry or linen. We keep photo evidence of any charges that we determine are necessary to bring our rooms back up to quality. Once we have determined the cost of the damage we determine if we are going to keep part or all of a guest's deposit. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you may have.

We basically checked in, went to our room and decided to bail. The room was outdated and felt unclean. Bedding was the only good thing in that it seemed clean. The room had a sliding door that opened to knee high grass and weeds and the area around the hotel felt sketchy!! We had to sacrifice the cost of the room and I feel mislead by Expedia.

When making the reservation the description in Hotel website is misleading, breakfast very limited, not very safe around the hotel, spoke to the staff to let them know the Tv wasn't working and they told they will fixed it but they never did, the indoor pool was never open and neither the outdoor pool, they gave me 2 keys for the room but one of them wasn't working and staff was mia most of the time and also the ac wasn't working properly so it was really hot. Never going back to the hotel unless they improve their service.

I am not sure why staff did not get your tv repaired for you and that your ac was not working. I assure you that I will look into this matter immediately. I will also apologize for our pool not being open. We are currently waiting on a part for the pool heater so that we may put the indoor pool back in service. Although the weather has been warmer lately, it is still to soon to be opening the outdoor pool here in Indiana. After memorial day we hope that the outdoor pool will have had plenty of time to warm up.

A bit noisy (fridge and heater). Bath all one room so couldn't awkward for two people at a time. Easy check in and out. Convenient to main road but didn't hear room noises.

We had two rooms here, one for myself and my partner, and one for my parents. One of the rooms was inside the building, with an indoor corridor. It was quite nice and felt much safer than the other room, which was more like a motel room, where the door to the room led out to the parking lot. The rooms themselves were very clean and nicely appointed with refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. However, one of the rooms did not have hot water in the morning. The manager explained that was because the hotel was fully booked and that there would be more hot water in about an hour once the boilers refilled. I think a hotel should have hot water for all of its rooms at all times or something is wrong with the infrastructure. The complimentary breakfast is adequate but nothing special. I think this hotel is decent for its price point, particularly due to the friendliness of the staff and its cleanliness.

Not Recommended. They kept my $100 deposit after I tipped them $50 and blamed it on ‘stained sheets’. I’ve been staying at hotels for 20+ years and have NEVER lost a deposit or had management hang up on me when I call to ask about them keeping my deposit. Was even threatened by staff that they would report me for harassment bc i kept calling to ask about them keeping deposit and instead of an explanation they just repeatedly hung up on me. the hotel also very outdated and the pool doors leading outside were kept locked by an actual bicycle lock. carpet looks 20+ years old & we were the only guests they had on a weekend and they still pushed their only customer away for life. nobody available at front desk during stay bc staff outside smoking cigarettes and vaping in the lobby nonstop. there are many hotels to choose from in the area so avoid the Clover.

Thank you for taking the time to submit a review. It is standard policy for hotels to collect a deposit. The Clover Hotel keeps the deposit after a room has been checked after a guest has checked out and damage to the room or its contents have been discovered. When you checked out, both rooms that you had rented were inspected. You received your deposit back for the room you rented that did not have damage. The hotel kept the deposit for the room that you held your party in and was found to have large red stains on the carpet and the bed. We have images of the damage saved to your folio and I would be more than happy to view them with you and have a discussion about the events of the evening and your party. These events include such things as setting off confetti crackers in the pool room (causing damage to our pool) and hallways. This is a very large expense for the hotel as well as having to treat the carpet in the room for stains. I am aware that the staff has spoken to you about this repeatedly and this is your third negative review that you have posted. I apologize that you are upset about us keeping your deposit, but it is necessary for us to recoup some of the money we lost repairing the damages that you and your guests created.

OUTDATED, DIRTY & MANAGERS KEPT OUR DEPOSIT
all around terrible experience at the Clover. the hotel overall needs major renovation or a complete tear down and rebuild. also the managers are very rude and unprofessional in dealing with their guests. Upon checkout, the manager went to review our room (which I have NEVER had happen at ANY hotel, ever) then the manager was very rude in telling us that they would not refund our $100 deposit and blamed it on ‘stained sheets’. sheets which were stained before we even checked into the room in question. We tipped the night gal $50.00 for being helpful and accommodating because she was working alone all night and seemed like she needed more help but had we known the manager was going to keep our $100 incidental deposit we for sure would not have tipped the night shift worker or stayed there to begin with. I have stayed at hotels all across the country for over 20 years and this was the only time I have ever had hotel management ‘check’ our room while we were checking out of the hotel and then instantly tell us they were keeping our deposit! The manager started accusing us of staining their sheets and he said the room was dirty! hello it is a HOTEL and it is your housekeepers job to clean rooms after guests check out! the whole hotel was very dirty, carpet at least 20 years old they used a bicycle lock to lock the pool doors & the key card setup they have is so old that they don’t even unlock doors half the time. AVOID the Clover hotel & read reviews they keep EVERYONES DEPOSIT!

Deposits have become a very important part of our business as it is our way of paying for expensive cleaning services to get a room back to rentable condition. It is common practice for the Front Desk Manager or Front Desk Associate to check a room before returning a deposit, to ensure that the room is left in good condition. If the room is not in acceptable condition such as damage to the room or its contents, then we are required to keep the deposit to pay for extra cleaning services. When guests have parties on premises and drinks and food get spilled damaging the bedding and carpet this is a situation where we need extra cleaning services to remove the stains from the carpet and to replace the stained linen. Upon checkout the Front Desk Associate or Front Desk manager will take photos of any damages to the room and its contents and attach them to the guest's folio. This is our way of assuring that guests are not being charged if they in fact did not cause any damage to the room.
