On the plus side: centrally located. And the maids were nice about giving us coffee pod refills. On the down side, there were $15/day amenity charges tacked onto the bill in addition to what we paid Expedia. The hotel is dirty and shabby. Our bathroom sink drain was partly clogged from the first moment of using it. There was visible dirt in the room and in the elevators. The ice machine on our floor didn’t work for our entire stay. The coffee machine in our room worked poorly — and required written instructions taped to the front to operate. The WiFi was spotty. At check out,I told the desk that the ice machine didn’t work and that the sink was plugged and they didn’t seem to care — nor did they offer a partial or complete refund of the amenity fee. I have stayed at worse hotels — but not for the price of Holiday Inn. I would never stay here again.

The staff was wonderful, the facility is well maintained, our room was clean and comfortable. The fifth time we’ve stayed there and it gets better each time.

This hotel is within walking distance from several great restaurants. It is clean, and the staff are professionals. I have stayed here twice in four months, and it is my go-to while in Sioux Falls now.

Great Hotel in downtown Sioux Falls
Great location for walking downtown. Easy access to the airport. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The food in the hotel restaurant "Verde" was excellent.

Drunk, more wasted, people everywhere. Huddled smokers by the front door. Not just once, but every time we entered/left. Food was expensive yet soggy flatbread sandwiches. Would have enjoyed McDonald’s more. The pool and area was so small that it was overflowing with drunks that wander over from the bar. Would not take family there again.

Good value, comfortable, somewhat rundown.
Relatively good value overall, but some areas seem rundown, although they were going through some renovations during my stay. The restaurant/bar area is pleasant. The gym has dumbbells and a decent 36# kettlebell. So, sufficient and better than just a treadmill and an elliptical. Bathroom walls have visible patches, quick fixes, a piece of the toilet tank had broken during my stay, which I promptly removed to avoid the constant water running. In reality, there is no measurable impact to my stay from this minor situation, but it is indicative of the failure to maintain and inspect on a more regular basis. Would I stay here again? Maybe? I haven't tried other hotels in the area, and perhaps I will next time I visit Sioux Falls. Only after comparing would I be able to assess whether this is a better option than others.

Downtown location
Good location for walking to downtown. Free parking. Free coffee in the lobby in the morning Our room did have a small balcony which we didn’t expect, too cold to be out but a nice surprise Trainees working the bar so service a little slow but nice people Our room did have an odd smell, faint but noticeable

Ok - but cramped bathroom with oddly placed toilet
Check in was good. Room was dated somewhat. Bathroom…very small, the toilet was off centered and about 6-8 inches from the wall making it an even smaller cramped space. Not sure how/who installs a toilet this way but not smart. I expect more from a Holiday Inn.

Mix up to start our trip
When we checked in and got to our room it was being cleaned and housekeeping told us to go and ask for a different room. We had already brought all of our stuff to the 8th floor. I went back down and luckily they could give us a room on the same floor. After that, things were great. We have stayed in this hotel before and love the location.

Hotel interior was nice but rooms were close to the elevator and it was very noisy. What about this party? There is a party outside or very loud hallway way into the night.
