Near mrt and bus station
The uncle which is incharge on the 4th floor is not open for opinions or feedbacks from customers.. we weren't able to sleep well because the room smells like durian.. And about the shower rooms, maybe it's better if you put a note on the door of the shower stating that it is under repair or out of order.. Maybe your property will gain or attract more travellers if you maintain it properly.because as I have the notice the reception area is very tidy/clean and friendly atmosphere but the rooms are so disgusting. I am sorry for the word. We did not expect it. The total opposite of the pictures that are shown in expedia. I did not get my moneys worth. It is more like a 10 dollar per day accomodation.

worst hostel
Horrible hostel. Went to use the washroom and there was a rat running around, the sheets in the room had blood on them, you could hear EVERYTHING in the rooms next door so you can't sleep (there was a baby crying all night and people's phones and alarms were going off all night), we were told there would be breakfast but there was none, the beds were disgusting. I complained in the morning and the manager has agreed to give me a refund via hotels.com.

Absolute No No, unclean & stinking rooms
The room had a terrible stink, too small, smelly bathrooms, no facilities such as TV etc, highly cramped rooms. Hotel must do something and should not befool the tourists. Overall a terrible experience.

VERY BAD !!
The hotel is JUST Dirty... it smelt terrible... the only good thing is the location.. the TV didnt work, the jaccuzzy was bad and it did not has a BBQ...

ITS INCREDIBLY DIRTY
Very bad... The place smells terrible!!! and it was all dirty... Beds hard and pillows made with something like sand inside.... The TV did not work on común area and the jacuzzi either... It does not has a BBQ... Not feel like a hostel vibe The only good thing it the location... Near the metro and bus stop But I would never come back... It's the worth place I have been...

Its my first visit in singapore,this hostel is accesable in all transportation,affordable food in a nearby places and malls, the hostel is quite clean and comfortable.Im sure ill be back again to stay in mercury backpackers hostel!tnx for the experience!

Room reserved not available. Room we got just sprayed for bed bugs and chemicals too bad to stay. Had to switch hotels. Also blood on wall from squashed bed bugs. Hotels.com very helpful

There were a lot of bed bugs so make sure to have your sheets changed and choose the top bed. The mainstay indian (lady) who is also a guest is kind of rude and her stuff are all over the place and the room with her really smells bad amd she confronted me one time for turning off the aircon which i did not. Good thing that you can smoke downstairs or at fire exit. Bathrooms are not that clean and super hot. There are no free soap and shampoo. The website states that they serve breakfast but when i got there they said they dont anymore so it added to my expenses. The receptionist is very accommodating. No lift so i had to carry my luggage to the third floor. There was also a drunk guy one night sleeping at the common area.

In desperate need of maintenance
This place is pretty bad. The rooms are not clean, bathrooms are usable but not clean. The "rooftop Jacuzzi" is absolutely filthy, and I would consider it unusable. To add to that, the place isnt exceptionally cheap either. Can probably find better, look around.

Family vacation
Remember that this is a hostel and not a full service hotel. The room or rooms in our case because we booked the family room. Composed of 4 bunk beds slept our family of 7 quite comfortably. The showersettings and washroomsee which were shared were clean and organized well enough that we never really had to wait for using with the other guests. There is no longer free breakfast but the location was across the street from a 24 hour mall where you can taste the delights of Asia or for you not so adventurous a McDonald's and Burger King was also close by. The mrt was a 5 minute walk as well as a bus stop close by. Enjoyed our stay. Kudos to the staff. The front desk is not manned 24 hours but you can still use your pass key to get in after 8 pm. Would recommend this hotel to any budget concious traveller.

Good location, but tiny room and unclean
Convenient location, but room was tiny and not very clean, and neither was the bathrooms. There were no signs for escape routes in an emergency and the room had no windows. Walls were pretty thin, so you could hear other guests.

Lovely staff, but cramped and dirty.
Dirty rooms with bed bugs, and not a great experience to stay in. You get what you pay for to be honest! It's worth paying slightly more not to get infested with bed bugs to be perfectly honest. But the staff were very friendly, helpful and tolerant!

Worst hotel for stay at singapore with a premium
Very bad experience of stay @such price. A suffocatingly smallest & darkest room at 4th floor without lift inside another room with absolutely no room service. No space to move,keep luggage,No tv, even no mirror, dirty room. Dim light, common two toilets outside for 10 rooms. Entrance through another room with 6 other foreigners. Bitter & bad experience. Recommend never stay for anybody. Not expected such hotel room from hotels.com. My room no was 431 and my total money was waste. My hard earned money just robbed. These rooms none will stay if even available free.

not what i expected
This backpackers was not advertised correctly. The roof top terrace is run down, with the deck all broken and unable to be used. The 1 useable table setting had fish drying on it so couldnt be used. We had to walk through another room to get to ours and then lock ours with a key.....a very serious fire hazard and didn't allow any privacy for the other people. Breakfast was white toast with marmalade, not even milk or sugar to add to coffee! alll pillows needed replacing, must have been years old, with permanent divets where others had put their heads Bunk beds were not well maintained.....we were worried about them breaking under my 14 year olds weight (all rickety with splits in the timber and the top bunk rails definately not safe)

Hostel in good position.
Staff were great; location great; showers good; info good; Internet available great. We arrived of the overnight bus and were allowed to take our bags in and rest a bit at 0530 before starting our day. A shelf or two in the rooms would make a world of difference. It is a backpackers if you remember this then your stay will be what you expect.

Clean and well connected stopover option in Singap
Stopped over in singapore for a few days and this was a convenient place to stay. Close to metro stop and bus stop to take you into the city centre. Staff were friendly. Beds were clean, showers were ok. Only a few rooms on each floor so never had to wait for shower or toilet. Very nice roof garden and jacuzzi although I didn't have the chance to use either. Would probably stay here again if I needed somewhere for a short stay.

Not to shabby for a hostel
When I first arrived, I was surprised that my reservation was cancelled by some mistake, so I immediately contacted hotels.com to solve this problem, the staff were cooperative, Zarina to be exact, she helped us thru this problem as she acted accordingly, over room was quite clean, comfy, has this nice camping feeling. breakfast is your average typical toasted bread with butter/jam, but thats for the best, too much options may confuse you. staff are really nice, manager is abit gloomy but hes nice, since it's my first time here, I had to ask for directions,Frances, an old man receptionist was kind enough to give me clear instructions of how to get to anywhere, even if hes not sure about the place location, he goes up the computer and explains to you in a clear way, easy to understand. This hostel's location is also great, you may reach the MRT station real fast, lots of tasty restaurants, some bars around, and a really great tourism office called JJ Holiday, which is right next the church & Buddha relic, they have discounted tickets for most of the attractions around Singapore & Sentosa. like for example, Universal studios tickets at ticket booth is for 74$, at their office its for 70$, not much of a discount but saves couple of bucks & queue time. Overall this hostel is really one of its kind, don't expect a 5 stars services, but might get up to that point someday. *****Highly recommended for friends / families / groups traveling together

Smelly Room & Unfriendly Staffs
I have stay at this hostel 2 years ago and I felt it is really comfortable, clean, friendly staffs and great location. That's why I am come back to visit this hostel for this December'2014 stay. However, I am very disappointed with the room and the attitude of the staff for this visit. I won't be coming back to this hostel anymore and won't recommended to my friends in future. I am disappointed because in the website, there are clearly stated that there are female dorm and I have booking for 2 whole rooms and stated that I only want female dorms but when I check-in, I being told that in our 2nd floor there are few rooms have occupied by males. I have required the staff that I only wants female rooms but she have informed me that 3rd & 4th floor for female dorms have been fully occupied. Then, I have no choice but to stay at 2nd floor. However, when all the washrooms have been occupied at 2nd floor, few of us decided to take bath at 3rd and 4th floor. But, when we went up to there, we are saw that few rooms of the floor also occupied by males. At that time, we was very angry and felt like being cheated. Why the website stated that there are female dorms but in fact there are no exist??? Then, the rooms that we stay also very smelly. The bed and pillow which stated in website equal to 4-5 star hotel also is a lie. I think the bed & pillow in the 3 star hotel also much more better than this. Overall, I won't be visiting to this hostel anymore.

I got 2 bunkbeds for 4, room was very clean and comfortable.. But the toilet not so clean at all. But overall it's good. Btw it's my 2nd time on this hotel :)

nice location
Close to MRT makes it easy to get anywhere. The WiFi was a bit dodgy but worked most of the time. Don't expect too much of the breakfast included it's just some toast with jam or butter and instant coffee.

Great place to stay if you're on a budget Stayed here for one night and felt comfortable, very modern and clean for a backpackers Has a rooftop spa, free breakfast and electronic lockers which were very useful!

이런 호텔은 리스트에서 빼야합니다. 청결도 최악이고 쓰레기통이 이보다는 깨끗하고 향기로울 겁니다. 불결하고 악취에 어둡고, 사진만 보고 예약하고 갔다가 기절하고, 나왔습니다, 취소도 안되고 돈만 날렸습니다. 사진에 현혹되지 않게 사진 내려주시고 이런호텔은 삭제해서 다른 피해자가 나오지 않도록 해주세요.

Mgkn kamarnya tergolong sempit namanya jg hostel utk Backpacker tapi Jika anda hanya butuh tempat untuk beristirahat dan menyimpan barang ini sangat membantu karena tempatnya sangat strategis dekat dengan MRT Lavender, sekaligus tempat makan enak, jalan kaki sebentar 5 menit bahkan dekat bandara saat mau pulang dengan barang-barang bisa pakai MRT, so SANGAT SAYA REKOMENDASIKAN krn kepraktisannya, bahkan bisa titip barang meski sudah cek out (dalam rangka penghematan)
