This hotel is great for location and one of the main reasons why we chose this hotel, it is 1-2 minutes away from West Nanjing Station and there are also restaurants and drinks stores and a 7 Eleven Newsagent nearby the hotel. When we arrived to the hotel we found the room not so clean and there are signs of rust found in the bathroom.
The room is small and cosy, but the beds are very hard so if you prefer a soft bed, this hotel is not for you. As we preferred a soft bed we were disappointed and we used an extra duvet supplied in the room to soften the bed a bit. Most of the facilities were in the room except Wi-Fi can only be accessed in the lobby area.
In terms of friendliness of staff, they do speak some English and they were helpful in arranging a taxi to pick us up from the hotel to the airport. Expect to spend about 70-80 CNY getting to Shanghai Airport (Hongqiao) Terminal 2. The breakfast served was limited in range and did not taste very nice (although I have never seen chicken nuggets in a breakfast buffet before) and breakfast is covered for one person a day, so if you travel with someone and want to have breakfast with them in the hotel there is a 58 CNY charge for each additional person.
To be honest, I feel that there were some good points of the hotel, but there could be some improvements, such as better breakfast range and having softer beds.
