Very close to the center of town; a few hundred feet from the plaza in front of the cathedrale, and about a ten minute walk from the Vieux Marche/Jeanne d'Arc church. Rouen is small, so you can walk anywhere from this hotel in a short time. No parking available, but a lot is nearby for about 9 Euros a night. Staff is very friendly, a French national who speaks excellent English (lived in the US for awhile) and his wife, a charming woman whose eastern tastes are evident in the lobby decor. Steep stairs, peeling wallpaper in the hallways, but the rooms are clean. The main complaint is the noisiness, which is the price for being centrally located: two bars/nightclubs close by with loud voices lasting until about 1 AM. Closing the windows blocks the noise, but then it's warm (at least in the summer). Excellent big breakfast...big cups of coffee, granola, cheese, jambon, croissants, etc...if you're not interested in walking to the boulangerie for a baguette. As long as you're a heavy sleeper, this is a fine and inexpensive place. Nice for my family as well, since we had two separate beds for my big teenage daughter and son.
