Everybody on staff was helpful and friendly. They helped us solve problems with our plans - which is important, because the wild and unspoiled character that makes Big Sur so wonderful can also make logistics complicated sometimes. Second thing - the food at the restaurant was terrific!

It was raining cats and dogs but this was a safe haven to shelter. The girl on the front desk was super friendly, the room was clean and warm. Everything is a bit dated but it didn’t matter. It was cost and had a comfortable bed. My room overlooked the car park but was huge.

Staff were very friendly and the restaurant served very good food. Although they seemed understaffed, each staff worked very hard to cover the shortage so I didn’t mind waiting. I would definitely go back there again!

This property is on my “will return” list. The room was very clean and comfortable in every way. The onsite store and restaurant are very convenient. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. It’s a just great place to stay on a coastal trip, very close to Hearst Castle. Of course, the location is gorgeous and we enjoyed the patio with beautiful views.

We stayed in the en suite house not realizing there was shared common space but our suite was completely self contained and fantastically beautiful. Highly recommend it. Restaurant food was ok. A bit bland but so what. Fantastic, friendly staff.

We love coming to Ragged Point Inn. The rooms are always comfortable. We love to come here to relax and decompress from our jobs. Also, it’s nice to have the restaurant and coffee bar. Walking around the grounds is very relaxing and beautiful. We bring our little dog and he has a great time too! The only negative thing I have to say is that room L6 is right beside housekeeping, and it can be a little noisy at times with the staff talking, only if we have the windows open.

Very professional, pleasant desk and restaurant staff. Absolutely beautiful location and vistas. It appeared many non-guests were exploring the grounds and hiking trail down to the shoreline. Wi-Fi did work. Rooms could use updated carpeting and shower heads. Overall, a must-stay.

Excellent location, friendly staff, clean rooms, a bit high on price, but there is nothing else anywhere close and it's amazing. The overall property is well cared for, but also a bit worn. Not bad, you can just tell they are suffering from the closure of 1, and lack of funds to do improvements, etc. I love this place and hope it gets more business soon!

The room was older than it looked in photos. Having said that, the location on the cliffs is really beautiful, and the grounds are nice to walk around on. We got to the inn at night just after the restaurant had closed (had been driving for hours and had nothing to eat, arriving later than we expected). The restaurant had just closed and the kitchen staff was SO HELPFUL and prepared takeout food for us. We really appreciated that. All of the staff were kind and helpful. It really is a beautiful location.

Think twice and call about details before booking!
I once stayed here in 2014 an upstairs room. I found the grounds enjoyable and the stay was a work stay, where I spent a great deal of time alone, working. I really liked it. However this time I was with my girlfriend and I found the stay not as I once experienced it. We were 1 hour early and unable to check-in There isn't any air conditioning, and our ground floor room was heated during the day by the sun and a fan was inadequate, even at night because the only way to introduce outside cool air was to open the sliding door all night. The smell of cat feces was prevalent from the porch facing the view. We were told not to let any cats in our room as part of the checkin. That should have been a tip as to our expectations. The staff was polite but offered little empathy when pushed back on regarding check-in times, cat crap smell. The restaurant is a shadow of what I remember, and for a seaside resort, has but one fish on the menu - We went to Cambria for dinner. Overall I won't stay there again, although it's a beautiful place to stay, the service I take for granted at other hotels doesn't seem to exist at the staff level at this place. I am sad to report.

Would not hesitate to stay hear again, views from the room of the coast and ocean are incredible, and the sunsets from the deck on the property are a must to experience.
