I'm a super cheap traveler and found this hotel very middle of the road. Thought it was a little pricey for the conditions and amenities, but I guess that comes with the cost of SF. Only note was the parking was kinda stressful- wasn't guaranteed a space after a day of driving around town, and the service was not my favorite. The door/roomkey situation was really bad, the key isn't easy to use- and the staff member wasn't thrilled they had to show me how to get it to work. Otherwise a very average stay!

I liked the free parking and WIFI and closeness to UCSF
The light fixtures are old and mattress not the best.
For the price it has got good value
No towels, no toiletpaper, no soap, no notjing when I arrived. Had work to do so I returned very late, still nothing. Wasted tired fell asleep. Woke to maid barging in without knocking with the towels, startled the hell out of me, lNOT pleasent. Next night, a weekend night, people partying stomping above me, and slamming doors all night, awful.
Easy check in, staff is ice and helpful.
Super easy to get to marina area. Presidio, Golden gate bridge, Palace of fine arts all close by.

Beds were uncomfortable and the room smelled heavily of smoke with a perfume over it. The elevators did not work. Apart from that, the room was very nice for the time we stayed and parking is included. Area is very convenient!

I was assigned a smoking room which was not clear when I booked the room. The front desk person told me I could change rooms in the morning after my first night, but when I returned in the morning I was told there were no non-smoking rooms available. The room key was really hard to use and I never figured it out — had to have someone else help me every time I wanted to enter my room. Bed was comfortable but cleanliness was not great. Great location.

The nightly price was below average and we were on a budget trip. The mattress however was hard and made having a good sleep difficult.
Never got room service. The ac worked well but there is no fan mode to help drown out city sound at night. It's in a great location though, and is inexpensive. Overall, it was worth it for what it is.
Very old motel, the socket near the bed does not work, the key to enter the room stops working by itself, the elevator can get stuck, the transport is noisy around the clock, cleaning is only upon request! in general, you can stay for 2-3 days if there is no other option! upon check-in, I had to pay another $100, as I understood for booking through the Expedia app, and another $100 deposit!
First off the staff was rude. No greeting or farewell. Night stand by the bed was sticky, there was hair on one of the beds. There was no light bulbs on 2 of the wall lights. Another head ache was getting the tv to work. You have to do multiple steps just to turn the tv on. We just left the tv on all day and night because it was such a hassle. I do have to admit the bed was comfortable though. In all you get what you pay for. It was a cheap price but so was the quality of the room. I won’t stay here again.

Bus stop right outside motel. Our suite the beds were worn out and uncomfortable. But staff, location was great.
The WiFi was weak and unstable. Only the bedside lamp works in the rooms so at night the rooms are very dim- I changed rooms so I'm sure it's not just an issue with my initial room.

First positive; free parking for one vehicle, considering how expensive parking is that alone is great. Second, they had a family room which is big and roomy. Has 2 tvs, fridge and microwave. Bad is doors dont have extra locks like the chain or bolt, and the furniture is very worn and mattress is non existent. Like sleeping on coils. But was quiet overall and affordable
Being on Lombard Street provides easy access to the waterfront. The location also has many dining options. The front desk staff were very courteous and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. Enough soap and towels were provided.
I think the room service was lacking with making the bed. I also thought the room did not have enough lights. I’m a student and it is difficult for me to do work in a dark environment. Overall I still had a positive experience and would recommend the motel to anyone visiting the area.
The location was the positive point, but the facility itself is old & tired. Rooms were small and very basic & for the price not really value for money at all. Staff made you feel not welcoming and just going through motions.
Bed comfortable another positive. Towels small, shower flow pretty average.
The manager changes every couple hours and they pretend to be absolutely exhausted every time you ask for something simple. I received 3 cards for my room that were not functional and the manager couldn’t use them, but would come back with the next and refused to speak to me. The TV didn’t work and the remote burned my leg, because they tape the batteries in; furthermore, at multiple times during the night I heard people banging on the door saying, “I know you’re in there…” with various swear words. Over and over I tried to call the front desk for help, they did not answer.
I can say that the manager microwaved a cup noodles that I bought from a gas station on my way into town. But, he did not speak English.
In the morning someone offered to sell me—I quote—“anything I needed for my stay.”
He was not a tenant and threw up as I walked away.
Genuinely the worst place I have ever staid in my entire life and it was absurd the lack of care they had.
Promptly at 11am they unlocked my dead-bolted door and yelled at me to get out… yelled.
Do not ever bring a family member or loved one here. Pay the extra few bills for a hotel room a mere block away.

I’ve stayed before and came back for another week. Management and staff are all be nice, friendly and accommodating. Located in a great area Safe! And it’s also a quiet neighborhood. Close to everything. Just a small bus ride , Lyft or walk for Sure! Next time I go back I will be staying at the Surf ! John
