we enjoyed the central location and walking distance to Union Square, China town, financial district, etc. Staff was friendly. Workout area was pretty good - 2 treadmills not working and lots of people wanting to use them.

Perfect hotel in perfect location

Posted 04-Dec-2014
Location: Middle of the financial district on a cable car line. Walking distance to Chinatown, Little Italy, the wharf.
Stayed for four nights. Staff was fantastic, competent, and quick to handle any questions or issues. Location is excellent, far enough from the touristy stuff to be out of the way, but close enough that those areas are in walking distance. Will stay again.

Lobby is beautiful but basic rooms disappointing

Posted 30-Nov-2014
Pros: Beautiful lobby, door attendants, ample outlets for tech gadgets on your room.
Cons: Free wi-fi, full explanation of what is complimentary in your room and what is not, clean the rooms more thoroughly.
The lobby of this hotel is very nice, however the niceness ends there. The negative: Our room was not clean. There was a comb full of hair, and bottle caps stuck between our mattress and the head board. I found it because I always check every hotel I stay at for bedbugs. There were also a pair of false eyelashes on the floor next to the bed. Makes me wonder if they vacuum at all. Everything in the room costs money to consume. Two bottles of water 7.50 each! 15.00 for water? Drinking glasses were next to the bathroom sink, not wrapped in plastic, not very sanitary. Be aware that in this day and age they charge for the basic necessity of wi-fi, 14.95 a day. TV remote did not work unless you were literally 2 inches from the TV. And this is the second time we have stayed here and both times the room was not very clean and TV remote did not work well. The only reason we stayed again was that I got an excellent deal so we thought we would give it a second chance. I won't stay here again. They have a shower curtain in the bathroom which is very "Best Western" looking. Something else very disgusting was that there were long black hairs found on our pillow cases when we opened the bed to check it. The positive: Room air conditioning was quiet and they must have put an air freshener in it because it smelled good whenever it came on. There are also ample plug outlets for all your gadgets

Decent hotel

Posted 29-Nov-2014
Hotel was nice for the price. Location was not great for getting to the tourist attractions, seems better for business travelers. Staff was somewhat nice, but not informative on restaurants to take kids to within walking distance.

Security was rude

Posted 28-Nov-2014
Cons: see above
Location: Nothing was open on the weekend that was in walking distance.
A small group (3) of us were visiting the San Francisco area from the Washington, DC area for a 49ers football game. The hotel allowed pets- which wasn't a problem. We heard a dog barking next door...again not a problem. Since we were on east cost time we were up around 4am. A knock on the door came and it was security demanding that we open the door. We refused because we were startled and unsure why he would be knocking on our door. He again demanded that we open the door. He proceeded to tell us that there was a complaint with our noise level. There was no television on and no radio on...just the occupants talking. I would think that a hotel of this caliber and price would have a different approach to addressing a noise level aside from sending a rude security officer. This security guard was beyond rude and we asked to be moved since apparently the occupants with the dog were bothered. The security guard was rude and disrespectful and his approach and demeanor was uncalled for. We will not visit the Omni Hotel again.

San Fran hotel review

Posted 26-Nov-2014
Amazing city, pretty good hotel. I was surprised to see this ranked #2 on trip advisor considering there wasn't really anything amazing, but there was nothing bad to report either. It's in the heart of the financial district so I recommend for business but maybe not so much for pleasure. It has a cable car right out front which is cool, no store in the hotel, one restaurant/bar which was pretty good. It was about a 25 min walk down to the piers which is where all the touristy action is. Good place, not great but definitely not bad either.

San Francisco Stay

Posted 16-Nov-2014
Pros: Great staff
Cons: The Beds
Location: Great restaurants around the area bring lots of cab money.
The wife and I visited San Fran for a week and had a great stay. We did stay at the Omni hotel in the financial district. The hotel was really nice the rooms were large and the staff was amazing and very accommodating. The one issue we had was the BEDS. They were horrible. They had no support and I tried to upgrade the room to a memory foam mattress, not an option all beds are the same. We were moved to the fifth floor were they were trying out new beds and the staff put plywood under are mattress and it helped. The first night sleep was horrible and better after we switched rooms. The Omni isn't a cheap hotel and would have gladly paid an extra hundred a night for memory foam it just wasn't a option.
