We’re happy to make this our base for two nights exploring SF. It was in a clean, accessible area. We arrived later (8 pm or so) on a Friday and there were still a few parking spots available but they are first come, first served. The guarded parking was a relief to us and the front desk was so helpful with helping us use public transport and map details.

I really enjoyed my stay. The rooms were very comfortable and nicely decorated. The dining options were amazing. We ate at the Wooden Spoon, the Kitchen Story, the Mediterranee, Le Marais… I will come back!

Loved our stay at Becks. In town visiting and wanted to be near the Castro district. This was a great choice. Rooms were clean and appeared to be recently renovated. The bed was super comfortable and the shower was awesome, large and choice of rainfall shower head or hand held shower head. Also had a nice outdoor patio area with background music. Our room had a refrigerator and coffee maker with Pete’s coffee sugar and coffee mate creamer (nice touch). The motel is located within walking distance to several bars and restaurants. Also has free parking which is hard to find. The parking lot was large and could accommodate quite a few cars. We felt safe in the area and at the motel. The only con (which wasn’t a problem for us) may be the traffic noise and/or the sound from the room next to you, the walls are thin and TV/conversation/traffic noise can be heard. I thought the ear plugs located in the bathroom was a nice touch. None of the sound was an issue for our stay. If needing a stay near the Castro I totally recommend Becks and I will be staying there my next visit.

Fun place to stay. Great neighborhood, hotel felt safe. Not quiet so be aware. Parking is first come first serve and difficult for large vehicles. Would definitely stay again. I would recommend hooks on wall in sink room.

Super clean, meticulously maintained retro motel !
This is my second time staying at Becks Motor Lodge. What I love most about the hotel is the location and the comfortable, contemporary and bright guest rooms. A top notch, tasteful renovation with a retro flair. Other commendable pros include: free, parking in a very safe and partially secured parking area, concrete construction, guest laundry and an expansive sun deck although I didn’t use it. Areas of improvement, although nothing too significant that would lower their rating include: wasn’t able to find a single garbage can anywhere except for my room which forced me to have to leave garbage outside, an Unnecessarily, complicated and stressful check-in where the lady wouldn’t accept my debit card because it lacks my name (most Canadian debit cards are like this). Although the water pressure was fine, max temperature still isn’t hot enough. Guests should also be able to choose between AC and heat (it’s my understanding select modes are locked. But why?). All in all, another great experience and should I come back to SF again, I’ll definitely be staying here!

We'd love to see you again soon! Glad you enjoyed your stay. Couple mentions: I'm sorry that the check in was complicated, we try to make it as evident as possible that we only accept credit/debit cards with your name and matching ID. We have found that this method protects from fraudulent card usage. You are able to chose between heat and AC in your room. We have simplified the system so you just use the up or down arrow to control the temp. It is not "locked," apologies that there was issues with this. We'll check your room for hot water temp, thanks for letting us know.

We were very impressed with the renovation, very clean, linens and bedding were very nice and comfortable. On site parking was safe and convenient. Overall a very good option for a safe and affordable stay.

A great place to stay. The Castro is a great neighborhood with lots of food and pub options, all at a close walking distance. The free parking was great. The area felt safe. The hotel was clean and the reception staff was nice. Will be back for sure.

Great first night stay
We had a great one night stay and hopefully will return for a longer stay. Great location and the hotel has great security for their guest which I greatly appreciate! The heater in the room worked great. There is a port for all your tech gadgets and even wireless charging. Only recommendation would be to have a couple more pillows in the room and I wish they were a little firmer. Other than that we had a great stay and would recommend!!!

Good find with free parking and very reasonable rates, decent neighborhood and pretty clean room and property. It is definitely a no frills place, but if you are looking for a reasonably priced place to stay in SF (which is very hard to do) it fits the bill. Towels are very thin and not in the best shape, bed was hard. There was also an odd smell in the hall and in the room.

We stayed for 10 days. The staff was always very friendly and accommodating. Was in a very good area for tourists; very accessible to transit and good variety of shops in the neighbourhood. I recommend The Wooden Spoon for breakfast or brunch, just a block down Market st. Would come back again.
