We LOVED Haus Arenberg. The views were fantastic, breakfast was plentiful and the room and property were incredibly charming. I will absolutely stay here again if my travels bring me back to Salzburg.

Cozy and comfortable with excellent breakfast..
We spent 5 days at this place on a leisure trip to Salzburg. The property is very nice and comfortable. The owners and staff are very welcoming and helpful. Eager to help and provide all information needed to make your stay comfortable. The breakfast spread is limited but more than sufficient and excellent in terms of quality. The place is a bit of a walk from the city center and on a uphill gradient. So best to take a taxi when arriving and departing with luggage. For normal sightseeing days days its quite ok to walk to the city center and back to hotel. Also no possibility to get lunch or dinner at the hotel...so these meals should be had out before you return to the hotel at the end of the day. Highly recommended...

I was quite excited to visit this hotel as on line it looked really great, on arrival it matched the pictures a converted house to a hotel, i presume We were given a lower floor room which meant loosing a little of the magnificent views of the surrounding mountains, the room was a little disappointing , had i been a big person the bathroom facilities would have been a problem, the toilets position in conjunction with the shower gave no room, also little privacy The washbasin was difficult to keep the water in when using it The sleeping area was clean and comfortable with plenty of space for clothing TV was well positioned for viewing Nice terrace but it was winter do we did not take advantage of it Breakfast, there was a good selection of meats, cereal, cold meats and cakes etc however hot food was spars and depended who was serving as to whether you got what you order and sometimes a long wait, however the room had a great view very clean comfortable The Hotel is situated a little way from the centre of the city but a pleasant walk of 15/20 minutes Salzburg is a must place to visit Overall disappointed

Complementary water in fridge, toiletries in bathroom, which if you flying with just hand luggage is a bonus, staff and owners couldn't do enough for you, lovely breakfast, recommend the omelette! Fantastic place, 10 mins walk to town centre, up hill coming back! Ate in restaurant recommended by hotel, lovely food and excellent service.

Beautiful property, especially the breakfast area and garden. Free parking, very nice breakfast, lovely staff. A bit of a hike into the city and no air conditioning, but it cooled down at night with windows open (there are screens). Rooms have balconies with beautiful views. Beautiful garden.

We booked a Triple room at this hotel for 2 ppl only because we needed a room with a king bed, as we were unable to sleep in a small bed. Triple room was the only available with a king bed. When we arrived we were checked in to 2 connected rooms in the basement. There was no word about 2 connected rooms and about the basement on our Expedia confirmation letter or on the hotel description (we would never book such a terrible room and would never pay extra for a connected room!). We felt like there was something wrong with the entire reservation/check in process and we were not given a room we had booked. However, the hotel owner stated that no other rooms were available and they were fully booked. Another issue happened during the check out process. There are no in-room safes at this hotel, so we had to leave our passports and valets at the "hotel's safe" = gave them to the hotel owner at the reception, which was a big mistake. Upon check out they could not find our passports and valets. It took about 30 min for a receptionist to locate them by checking all offices, calling the hotel owner (she was out of the hotel at that time), her husband and his girlfriend. We were about to call the police and could only guess where they kept our passports and valets and who could have an excess to all of it. Be careful when you book this hotel. They posted a photo of their best room on Expedia, but I assume that all guests who booked through Expedia are checked in to basement rooms.

More of a bed and breakfast than a hotel. Bellman, receptionist, concierge, housekeeper were all the same person. However, they were friendly and the breakfast was good. Just not what we expected.

Good for Salzburg area.
The host charged us an extra day, but due to my wife's help, got fixed. Family run place. The breakfast was not included and I didn't know that until checkout, though it was very good and probably worth the price. Salzburg is pricey and compared to other places this was a nice place to stay. Free parking was great. It's about a 20min walk to the main town.

Charming hotel
My husband and I were very happy with our stay at Haus Arenberg. The hotel is just across the river from old town Salzburg and in a lovely residential area. When we arrived the owner was so jolly and helpful. We felt truly welcome. Our room was spacious, clean and the bed was comfortable. I love the two duvets so my hubby can't steal my blanket ;) Also the breakfast was very tasty and I loved that the hosts would cook us eggs to our liking in addition to the wonderful buffet. Thank you for a great stay.

This hotel Hays is located 20 minutes from staatbruck bridge , the entrance to the Salzburg old city which contains almost all touristic locations . The hotel location is also in the old town of Salzburg , in a very quite.neighborhood , you can park you car just near the hotel . Inside the hotel The overall appearance is very nice And the rooms are very comfortable With a balcony to a beautiful garden . The breakfast is a very rich buffet and everyone can find what he likes to eat .

Staff were not as friendly as other hotels during our trip. Hotel does not have a restaurant or food available, except breakfast. You have to walk to the downtown to find food. Rooms were nice, yet bathrooms were very small and tight. No air-conditioning in room and room was in lower level with no airflow when windows were opened. Hotel was difficult to find via GPS due to one way streets. Overall nice hotel close to old town. Walked to old town and shopping was easy.

Nice hotel, if a tad out of the way.
We had a five day stay and used a taxi most of the time as the hotel is in a quiet ( but staggering nice ) residential area and the walk into "town" gets a bit wearing after a while. The room was spotless however the "bathroom" area was quite small but this the usual trade off for a city centre hotel. Overall a very pleasant hotel.

A very charming B/B. The staff were friendly, helpful and made you feel like you were a part of the family. The view was gorgeous and the breakfast in the morning was a gorgeous buffet of breads, meats, cheeses, yoghurt and eggs cooked to order. Will definitely return. Parking is limited so make sure and let them know if you're driving.

This hotel was nice and the staff was great, however the breakfast was not a good experience. The plates and serving dishes were not all clean. Many of the tea pots was dirty, so you had to look closely not to grab and add water and tea to a pot that was not clean. Plates and other items were dirty as well.

I highly recommend Haus Arenberg. Our room for three was spacious, comfortable, and very clean. We were able to leave our car there and walk 15-20 minutes to the Old Town. The breakfast was delicious and the hosts were very accommodating. Minutes after we got there, she arranged a Sound of Music tour for us with Panorama Tours and they came to pick us up.

Our triple room was nothing like the triple room shown on the Haus Arenberg section of hotels.com. Instead of a broad alpine view from a balcony and a tall window + door combination, our room was beneath the breakfast cafeteria with a view of bushes and tree limbs ten feet or so from rather short windows with high sills. The floor of our room was below the outside grade. We had ordinary mattresses instead of Select Comfort. Sounds of breakfast traffic above the room began around 7 am. The room was large and had an excellent bathroom. Breakfast was excellent. We should have been advised before booking that our triple room could be so different from the one shown online.

The proprietor was so welcoming. The place was incredibly spotless; everything shined. The bath looked brand new! Equipped with everything one would want. Breakfast was wonderful with many choices from a assorted breads, yogurt, fruit, veggies. Meats, cheeses, smoothies and eggs to order

The hotel is a little off the beaten path and for me too far to pull my luggage from the bus stop. The hotel was nice, stuck in a residential neighborhood. The staff was superb and went above and beyond to fix us breakfast before the normal breakfast hours, due to our flight. The distance from the town and that there is no air conditioning is a draw back.
