Small comfortable and enjoyable stay near bus stop
At first I was disappointed that I didn't get a small couch as shown in the photos (a comfortable chair/couch is a priority of mine) but the small desk worked fine. I just put a pillow on the hard chair for a little bit of comfort. Otherwise all was great. Loved the slanted windows and fresh air coming in and large bathroom. Ice was already in the freezer which is something I also enjoy. The close bus stop also was convenient when I was tired of walking 2 miles to and back from down town (I walk 5-15 miles a day on vacation and this was the end of a 150 miles walked/hiking trip).

Nice but noisy
This is a great hotel spoilt by the horrendous traffic noise outside. Not helped by even the buses going past faster than the speed limit. The rooms are ok and functional, our cheapest one was ok and functional but basic. Everything clean and tidy and capable of ‘a bit of self catering’.

This was a little further from Old Town than was ideal, but it was sooo reasonably priced and who couldn't use the extra exercise? It was clean and exactly what we needed

Too noisy, bad bed but clean.
Road noise was horrible, I barely slept. I don’t think they were very busy, yet we had a room on the first level on the side road. We heard it all, motorbikes, Cirens, garbage truck with flashing lights, buses. I don’t know why they didn’t put us on the other side of the building. Ruined my stay. On the other hand , the place was clean and the internet worked well. One more complaint. My bed was really uncomfortable, the Mattress was fine, but the structure was bent , my sleep was horrible. I know the price wasn’t very much but I expect a good bed and quiet.

A small cozy place to stay in. There is a small kitchen beside you. However, we got the budget apartment which is located at the top with the roof where the space is limited, we are not able to open the window to keep the room ventilated. Luckily they provide a fan as a remedy. Nevertheless, I feel this place is nice for budget traveller who is driving as there is free parking and public transport is accessible to the city center. There is also grocery stores nearby.

Misrepensentation as being an apartment. Just a very small hotel room with a hot plate, microwave and fridge. Really noisy due to heavy traffic on road beside hotel. Grossly over priced. Look else for a better place to get some rest.

Away from town but with good local transportation
The apartment-hotel was quite satisfactory. It was a bit dusty cos' u can feel the dirt while walking barefooted in it. The heating up of the stove was quite slow. There's no kitchen hood so need to open the window while cooking. The bed is a bit noisy too. Other than that, the place is quite satisfactory with good local buses to go to around Salzburg town using the Salzburg card. U can go skiing at Faistenau or Hintersee by using the no. 150/155 buses with nearby ski set's rental. U can also use the free shuttle for touring/skiing activities (ask the hotel's receptionist for more info).

Bit tired needs a make iver
Very tired it needs a refurbish. Bed horrendously noisy squeeky just when sitting on it. Wifi shocking too. Staff very friendly and heloful.

Nice place to stay. Grocery close. We walked to Vienna State Opera so close enough. We could have walked from train station, but my friends had heavy luggage. The room has a separate bedroom and a single bed in the kitchen/sitting room.

Lovely Hotel, No.23 Bus from main Station stops nearby.. Buy Tickets from Driver or Tabak Stores (cheaper). About 10 mins out of the central town, nothing much local but several Buses travel regularly into centre of Town. Nice place to stay (IKEA Style), can cook own meals if wanted, basic Kitchen, but most things there. Friendly staff and extremely helpful!!

The property is 15min by bus from the train station so be prepared to spend 1 hour each day as waiting time for the bus can be up to 30min. No one answer the phone after the reception closed so if you lose the key to the main entrance, good luck. And you have to carry your luggage up to your room as there is no lift. My room was actually an attic so is cramp as the ceiling height is low; and the room is very very cramp. Does not feel comfortable staying here although reception is very polite. Not worth the money and travelling time.

Close to town, but not in the mayhem
Took a taxi from the train station to the hotel as that walk was a little more than we wished to tackle. Simple and quick check in and we're happy to find a small grocery store a three minute walk away. Beds were comfy, a real quiet area, nice hot shower with pressure, and conveniently located. We walked to the town each day and it took us about 15-20 minutes as the walk is so ice we took a lot of photo opportunities.

Excellent location. Bus stops are right up the street. Buses come every 10-15 minutes. FYI buy a 24 bus pass from the driver. It's way cheaper than a one way ticket. The receptionist was delightful. She knew every location in detail and was very happy to answer questions and draw directions on maps. Consider the Salzburg card if you're staying for a few days and want to see all the sites. There is no elevator. The rooms don't have air conditioning but there are multiple windows. However, the apartments are on a very busy, traffic filled street that does not get quiet, ever. The street noise and neighborhood noise really decreased our enjoyment during our stay. The shower head was broken and had weak water pressure. Overall, it was good for the price. Staying downtown was more expensive!

Nice but not that close to the City Center
We stayed at the Ante Portas in August. It was dangerously hot in Salzburg that week (very unusual for this area) and there was no air conditioning. We were on the 3rd floor with only 2 sky lights which offered little to no breeze at night. They did provide a fan which helped a little. The owners did offer to move us to a lower floor but we declined thinking it would cool off. We should have accepted as it just got hotter each day. I booked a double room and it was extremely small. There was barely room to lay my suitcase on the floor opened. The bed (2 twin beds in a single frame) was ok. The room had a kitchenette. Take heed, they leave you a note telling you that they will charge you extra if you leave anything out of place in the kitchenette. There is a sink, a 2 burner cooktop and a small fridge plus a few dishes in the cabinet. We didn't use anything in the kitchen because I suppose with the kitchen warning that they rely on guests to clean it and that bothered me. On the positive side the room and the bathroom were clean. The people at reception were very nice and they leave a really nice packet of information. It's not that close to the city center, but there is the #4 bus that is close. We used the bus only one day because we had to wait about 30 minutes for a bus to get back in the afternoon.

The apartment was spacious, with a nice bathroom and perfectly adequate kitchenette. If you google walking directions from the hotel to somewhere in Salzbourg altstadt, such as Motzart's Geburtshaus, it seems like a 35 minute walk. However, it's only really around 20 minutes until you hit the narrow shopping streets that Salzbourg is famous for.

I would recommend this apartment. Although out of the city it can be easy reached whether by the bus which are very reliable and frequent or on foot if you enjoy walking. We had booked for an extra adult as my son was joining us for some nights and we found it quite cramped with 3 adults but fine for 2 people. The staff are excellent and extremely helpful.

Nice apartment with this price
Really didn't expect this quality with such an affordable rate. The room is comfortable and decently decorated. Feels like home. Warm and cozy. But traffic is not very good. Quite noisy at night. Couldn't sleep well on the first night (waken up by highway cars at 2AM and couldn't sleep back). Reception is closed very early (right at the time you may check-in, so it is basically impossible to be greeted when you "check-in", you basically just pick up the key right at the door of your room...). Kind enough to provide an electrical adapter though. Many cooking utensils in kitchen. Saved us some dinner money. Overall, this is a nice apartment.

Good out of town appartment
Was a fine appartment and suited us. It was a shame that we had a room on the ground floor with no view (basement feel) - wasn't really the right environment to enjoy a nice meal cooked in the room with a glass of wine as we'd hoped. Sabine was very nice, told us about using the beach at St Wolfgansee which was great (although we felt she was quite accusing when the beach key was misplaced by the staff and she asked us more than once to return it until she realised the issue). It is a good 30 minute walk into town if you are a fast walker, obviously good busses as well but on a budget we found travel quite expensive. All in all, would recommend appartment for anyone happy to be out of town and save money cooking in-house. Was clean and comfortable. Thank you for a nice stay.
