Be prepared,if you arrive after 5:00pm the front desk is gone. They have a sign on the door to call them, and then they guide you through a door code to enter the main lobby,of which might be the entry to your room,& might not due to the hotel has two entrances to two different sections of the hotel.There are four rooms from the lobby entrance,& 8-9 in the other building which is literally a 40 second walk.They’ll tell you where to find your room key at the front desk,& you’ll use this code to enter the doorway to the hotel whenever the front desk is closed. always after 5:00pm.The envelope with the key,also has instructions for WiFi, which only works in your room,not elevator & not in the lobby. It also explains where your room is exactly.Very easy to get in & out,location is the BEST! Rooms are clean,some bigger than others.I had a French bed, was firm, but slept well on it.Some rooms have a balcony,some a view of piazza Venezia.There are restaurants surrounding the hotel,snack shops,& the ancient Roman forum, & colesseo are within a 3 minute walk.Price very reasonable,noise Level was so so.Depends on what side of the hotel you’re on. Mine faced the outdoor restaurants area facing piazza Venezia.But I always sleep with ear plugs & It was perfect.But the windows keep the noise level way down anyway. Air condition was the best!Easy check In,I came down next day, gave them my passport and all. I recommend this place to couples and or if you’re solo. I was amazed. I’ll return

The room that allocated for me from Hotel front desk was really bad location , it’s like totally separated from the hotel itself with bad view and even was so dark at night and feeling not safe

Comfortable and where you want to be!
With no reception after 4.30pm it was difficult to find the room but once in all good. The room is basic but comfortable but the location is the best! Right outside the door you have a choice of 10 places to eat within 50 metres. The best is you are right where you need to be for the history, turn left and left again and you will say wow!

Fantastic hotel near the Coliseum!
We were so pleased with our stay! The attention from the staff was outstanding always wanting to help. The wifii didn’t work well in our room but we could work with the one from the lobby area.

The hotel was kind of hidden. Excellent location next to the colloseum and the Roman Forum. Dining right around the corner. The room was great. Modern amenities and the staff was very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

The room had quite clearly suffered from flooding in the past. The plaster was coming away from the wall above the skirting board, the skirting boards were showing signs of water damage and were split and rotting. One of the doors into the courtyard was hung on only one hinge, the locking mechanism was also damaged so it wouldn't properly lock / seal, the outside of the doors needed a coat of varnish to restore them (though this is a minor detail). The bathroom door had clearly been forced back in the past and the bottom hinge had been torn out of the door. The hotel has invested in proximity fobs for unlocking doors and controlling the electrical circuits in the rooms, whilst I fully support this as a measure to ensure we are all more environmentally friendly and a measure to avoid price rises, I feel that the fridge being turned on and off by this system has not been considered as it prevents the fridge from working effectively. Despite my above observations I've thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel (again) and find it to be reasonably priced. The hotel is in a superb location and its staff really are its greatest asset. The hotel will hopefully experience some maintenance works by its parent company in the near future as it doesn't seem to have had any for some time (a coat of paint and weeding of the garden would work wonders).

Amazing location, friendly staffs, super clean and modern, just one major negative this is that the Spanish restaurant downstairs is super loud, noises through out the night, even shutting the door, notices are still loud, very difficult to sleep. Recommend earplugs

Hotel is in a fab location right by the Roman Forum. Myself and my husband were given room 203 on the 2nd floor which had an amazing view right on to the Forum. We also had a spiral staircase in our room which led up to the biggest bath tub I’ve ever seen. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed for our long weekend in Rome. The room and bathroom just needed a lick of paint to freshen it up however this is only a 3 star hotel and is definitely value for money. The main plus point about this hotel is the location. When you leave the hotel and walk to the main road by the forum, you can see the Colosseum at the end of the street. The staff were also very friendly and helpful, they had no problem with letting us check in a few hours early so we could then go out and explore. I would definitely return here.

The new rooms they have are so much better than the older ones. Once we were moved after 2 days to the newer once it was amazing. Maria Vittoria was incredible receptionist. She helped us with everything. Thank You

Good location to focus on the Forum and Coliseum
Beautiful shower but not practical because water ALWAYS soaked rest of bathroom floor. Unexpected upper loft with bathtub and 2nd TV, empty minibar....again not practical, but nice-looking. Surprised we had a room in another building separated from lobby area by a half-block.

Very well placed hotel for visiting all the sights of Rome - two minutes from the Colosseum and the Forum. The room was a bit on the small side but very clean and modern with a very nice bathroom. Helpful staff who pointed out places to visit and eat that were off the beaten track. Downside no amenities in the room so could not make a cup of tea/coffee which would have been nice.

The location of this hotel is excellent. 5 minute walk from the Colosseum and some excellent places to eat on your doorstep. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The reception staff are very hospitable and cannot do enough for you. The only area lacking is tea and coffee facilities. All you need from a city type hotel.

Entrance is hard to find, and it's not the usual hotel format. Staff very friendly and helpful, good wifi, rooms seemed clean. Location, great! But woke up to find our bodied covered with bites, my husband and I over 20 bites each from room 404. Also the breakfast buffet is no buffet. We each got a croissant and a coffee. Second coffee not available without buying.

Excellent view from the window. Reception isn't connected to the rooms (rooms are located in other part of building and has separate entrance). It wasn't easy to find reception, because of it is invisible.

Well located and clean hotel.
We had a good stay here. The staff were friendly and the room was of a good size with a balcony door leading to an outdoor seating area. Restaurants close by and not far from the Colosseum.

Lovely hotel I've used for three years. It's recently undergone a change in ownership and some of the charm has been lost. On the whole I had yet another pleasant experience and doubt I could find anywhere else in the location for the price that would be of the same standard.

Disappointingly unhelpful.
The room was tiny, however it was very clean and the location was amazing. We had a few issues the toilet constantly running, the hot tap handle falling off and the wardrobe door not closing, most of which were fixed promptly (by day 2) but unfortunately the wardrobe door was not which doesn't sound like a big deal but in such a small room it did make an annoying difference. Having said this after the initial disappointment we did agree that we would stay again if ever in rome again, the staff were friendly the breakfast great and the hotel very clean. On the day before our departure we asked the reception to order us a taxi for the airport which they said would be no problem and would cost us €50 which surprised us as we had read previously that authorities in rome have set a flat rate of €30 for a taxi fare to the airport and is also advertised on the side of all the taxis we had seen, when we asked about this the hotel refused to book us one of these insisting that the taxi they would book us would be bigger and better, we didn't need bigger as only two of us and we did not want better, whatever that meant! As a result of this we managed to find our own way using the metro and airport bus and it only cost us €11 euros for the two of us. We found this to be a very disappointing end to our stay it felt dishonest and shady and as a result I would not recommend to others and would not stay again.

Great location. This will be nice when they finish the building works, which were not mentioned when this hotel was booked through hotels.com! There were a number of 'issues' on my arrival but the staff were good and I was only there for a few hours (late night arrival, early morning start), I would not have been so pleased if I was staying longer. The room was OK but there are clearly building works going on and the room was not finished completely. Room was very bare but the shower worked and bed was OK, which are the main things. Struggled with the WIFI as there were about 15 ones to choose from and late at night I gave up. Not the worst place but not the best either. however for the cost and the location I would visit again but would check it was finished first.

Lovely hotel. Reception is around the corner from the entrance bit it didn't bother us. Staff were lovely and always able to help. The room was lovely with a mezzanine level with a giant bath and TV. Bed was comfy and rooms were cleaned daily. Location was ideal opposite collesseum and Roman forum. Plenty of places to eat right outside the door.

Fantastic location
A little tricky to find as it's hidden behind restaurants and a petrol forecourt. The staff were helpful and very friendly. The only let down was there was no wifi available in the room.

The best location and price in Rome
The best location in Rome. Cheap for where it is but it's a samll hotel so no luxuries. You get what you pay for and its perfect! I recommended it to my parents after our visit and they loved it too!

Centrally located hotel
Small hotel in process of moving round corner so minor hiccups with facilities. However, hotel is in excellent location for Colisseum and Forum. Also many restaurants nearby. Metro is five minutes walk( next to Colisseum) and is ten minutes from Termini railway station.

I loved the location and one of the front desk personal, a lovely lady was fantastic at offering suggestions for restaurants, what to see and do. The other 2 gentleman not so helpful in fact one one no English. The room was cleaned okay but the bathroom was a big problem some mildew on the curtain. Hard to have a proper shower when the water runs out of the area onto to the floor. Small room but okay. I think I would not stay again and definitely not recommending it.

Hotel is very modern and in a great spot steps from the colosseum. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms are very spacious and air conditioning is ice cold. I would have no problem staying there again.

Hotel De Rome - Can't get any closer.
VERY CLOSE to the Forum and the Coliseum! any closer and you would be IN THE FORUM!! Stayed in a nice two room suite plenty of room for three or four! Breakfast was not elaborate but more than adequate even for our gluten free traveler. Front desk (Fabio!) was wonderful in providing unsolicited advice for making the most out of our stay with tips on transportation, safety, and events in the area. He was also very accommodating on storing our luggage and allowing us to come back to the hotel to stage for our final by train departure. I would highly recommend this hotel and their staff. Tip: it is hard to see the hotel when your cab pulls up, plus two doors away is the Hotel Roma - which can be confusing. So, when you pull up to the curb there are several large outdoor cafes, then behind that the Hotel Roma, Hotel Richmond and then your Hotel de Rome. Tip2: Save tour of Forum/Palentine Hill/Coliseum for day you travel out of hotel with afternoon transport. after your 3 hour tour you can easily refresh, get lunch, gather baggage and head out!

When we first looked at it online we thought it was going to be a cool place to stay. When we arrived, we had a hard time finding it behind the strip of restaurants. We walked in and it wasn't anything like we expected. The lobby was dark and dingy with cracks in the ceiling and walls. The concierge wasn't at the desk and we had to call into the back for him. He still didn't come out for a few minutes following that. Once he finally did, we felt like we were inconveniencing him by needing to check in. We had to wait for about 45 minutes for our room to be ready even though we had told Expedia to tell the hotel we would have to check in earlier than 2pm. Finally got our room, walked down the hallway and the ceiling lights were an awful yellow that hurt our eyes. There were missing ceiling tiles and it seemed like the whole place was under construction. Our room was odd but it worked fine for one night. I felt uncomfortable with the window and door leading to the patio because there was no extra lock on it to ensure that nobody could get into our room since we were on the first floor. They advertise free wifi, which doesn't reach to the room. So we were only able to connect to wifi (which was extremely slow) when sitting in the lobby which wasn't ok for us because we needed to check into our flight and reach our families in the US. Overall, I don't recommend this hotel at all. We wanted to leave as soon as we arrived. Stay somewhere else!
