The property was supposed to be non smoking and the room smelled really bad like smoke, also extremely dirty.

Been around a while
For the only hotel in Rockford to have a smoking room it was gorgeous. Did not even smell like a smoking room. The grounds and other parts of the business i saw looked like they sorted out the riff raff.

I enjoy staying at this motel!
Whenever I’m passing through on travels, I always stay at the Alpine Inn. It’s largely a motor inn with drive-up rooms. Free wifi works great. There are residents living in some rooms which didn’t bother me; they were friendly to me. Great mini-fridge. Clean. No clock in room. Shower, bed, and TV = great. Super location in Rockford, IL near restaurants/bars, shops, a gym, and a thrift store all within 1 block from the motel. I’ll def go back!

The front-desk clerk was friendly and helpful. The room was clean. Nothing made me say “Wow!” and nothing made me say “Eww.” It was an above average for the price experience. Good dining options within minutes, on foot or by car.

The Alpine was not as advertised. There were cigarette burn holes in the covers on my bed, the toilet seat was broken and the room was just rundown and decrepit. My Mother and I were in Rockford for a wedding and my Mother was afraid to stay in the room by herself.

The people at check in were pleasant. The condition of the room was awful. Smell was terrible. Room was dirty from top to bottum. No amenities provided except for hand soap and 2 hand towels to shower with.

Good price and the lobby is nice and the 24/7 coffee are all good things however, my room key did not work and I had to go back and thought to the lobby multiple time to try other keys and did not feel I got the proper attitude from the desk, I was told "what do you want me to do? I can't close the office and go open your door". maybe Alpine inn should guide the desk on how to overnight the door lock manually when needed so they can handle a problem like that next time, also the shower head is sad, TV is small and far away and there should be outlets to charge a phone by the bed without the need to unplug a clock of a lamp.
