you get what you pay for, it’s well priced for an all inclusive, and the staff is great. really nice spot, I was able to have fun and rest without worrying about meals or anything else the rooms could use some investment which I was told is already being done. airport transfer service could be improved, mine was 2 hours late (but it’s really affordable if compared to other resorts)

Property was quiet and safe with both schedules daily activities and available snorkeling, diving, kayaks, jet skis. The snack bar was open between scheduled meal times. The breakwaters protected the beaches from waves and large sea animals, providing a calm and safe swimming experience. The cons are: The facility maintenance could be improved to provide a more finished appearance. In our room, the wall mounted fixtures were loose and hanging out from the wall. One of the two wall mounted light fixtures did not light-up. The shower which was designed for two sliding doors, only had one door installed resulting in standing water on the floor. The refrigerator had thick ice build up on the coils, resulting in limited cooling. Most of the hotel staff did not portray a welcoming demeanor. Only a few of the staff exhibited a smiling, "how may I help you?" expression.

I am so impress with this property. I read some reviews online and I was concerned coming in. I was gladly surprised. The resort is older but perfect for the rustic and natural experience. These are some of the best beaches in the world and the resort Couldn’t be better. I think many Americans that come down here don’t get the beauty and amazing opportunity to be in this location!!!

The island is incredible. The beaches are excellent with safe swimming areas on the main beach and another area separated by a wooden walkway. The diving is outstanding, Vasco runs a professional operation with high quality equipment and great staff. There is really good shore diving from the gazebo and the resort has a number of dive boats. The resort itself has such huge potential nonetheless is offer a basic level of all inclusive. The rooms are functional but basic. The food is wholesome and edible however not greatly varied.

The staff were kind, and obviously overworked. The property is in desperate need of repair. The patio doors to the balcony do not lock. That was the worst part: Having to booby trap the room and pray my teenage girls would be safe since there are no connecting rooms. The vanity was falling off the wall, the shower wouldn’t drain, while the shower head was hanging out of the wall. They are obviously making money, a little upkeep would go a long way. The beach is beautiful. Snorkeling was great!

Been traveling for 40 years plus and I cannot remember last time I saw a place so bad. It is not even possible to describe. The smell around the pool is worst then a septic tank. They shouldn’t be allowed to post the pictures they have on Expedia. Our rooms were full of mold.

We have been to Fantasy Island 5 times. The first time, it was almost perfect (the beds were brutal). There were monkeys, tons of agouti and the off shore snorkeling was amazing. Over the years and changes of ownership, this place has steadily went downhill. The food is terrible, the snorkeling off the pier makes you a little sick, seeing how much coral has disappeared, the monkeys are gone with the exception of one. The price of this place is not reflected in what they offer in services and enjoyment

First the area itself is very run down. All of the buildings are in need of repairs, as in the sidewalks are coming apart and the building has a lot of bad rot. Second the food was mediocre at best, if you want pasta 3 meals every day, this is the place. Room service was inconsistent more miss than hit. The beds are pretty well worn out and we got clean towels only by asking for them DAILY. On the plus side the dive shop was very well run, and the dive staff very knowledgeable. The staff at the entire resort is very friendly, however a working knowledge of Spanish is really really handy as most do not speak English. Bottom line is I would not recommend this place for family and friends, nor will I return.

The hotel front desk staff was very unorganized they didn’t arrange my shuttle and I missed my flight after paying for the round trip shuttle, I will never stay here again.. they need a whole new staff and management there

The location was the best part. Staff was unhelpful and only one spoke enough English to help us check in. As soon as we got into the room, we just wanted a shower. There was no hot water and the shower door and towel bar kept falling off. They managed to cover a king size bed with a queen flat sheet for linens and didn’t have enough towels for the room or the beach. Also, we had to ask for toilet paper for the bathroom.

Disgusting place to visit. Paid almost $600 for 2 nights for the resort to lose power for 4-6 hours on my second night stay. Phones ended up dead, and the resort was very dark. The food is nasty, rice is undercooked, the only good thing about the resort is the views. Came back from driving around the island after losing power at about 11pm & went to the bathroom and had a huge cockroach by the toilet. Complained & all they offered was a new dirty room where I woke up with a rash on the side of my leg. 0/10 recommend. If visiting here. Get a daypass that they offer. The stay is not worth the money.

This place was terrible all around, except for the location. We stayed at two other lovely places on the Island so this is not normal for Roatan and this place was the most expensive. $300 for the night. We booked it on Expedia and when we arrived at the hotel they would not honor our Expedia Reservation. They made us book and pay again before they would give us a room. Believe me we would have left and went elsewhere but it was already late and pouring down rain. We got to our very dates room and there were only bottom sheets on the beds (three double beds) after we had originally booked a King room. We also only had two very small thin towels and the floors were filthy. The food at breakfast was greasy and bland. I am not one of these people who expects a 5 star experience for a 3 star price, but I definitely don’t appreciate a 0 star experience at that price point. Expedia was wonderful to work with and they were able to get our Expedia charges refunded for our reservation that was not honored at check in.

Very helpful and pleasant staff. However, the price I paid could’ve afforded me a property in the West End in better condition. From muddy and untamed driveway/roads on the resort, to trash rimmed along the beach fronts, no guestroom WiFi, and insect infested showers, I cannot recommend this as a preferred destination for my clients/followers. I have refrained from posting my detailed photos. A refund of an even partial amount will help offset the underwhelming experience.

Right at the front of the resort there was a smell… like dirty pipes and sea water. Our hotel bed had stains, the floors were dirty!! Bathroom smelled, there was only half a door in our shower, so water would get everywhere. The shower head was dirty also. Food was limited, staff was rude. When we said we were staying a week staff laughed at us. Bar closes at 10pm and they serve drinks in Pepsi cups!! The one pool was just nasty.. murky and dirty, I saw 1 person clean the pool ONCE!!! Out of my whole stay!! DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE PICTURES ONLINE. For the money we paid was definitely NOT worth it.

They don't have free parking unless you rent a car with then ,they have a lot miscommunication with xpedia some workers are rude ,i think the name is tisha ,she have a undertable business with the rent of the cars ,a lot worker's said that and the owner doesn't know ,she told me that's the manager of this place and she dont even introduced with the costumers ,a lot of flies around the food too

Views are beautiful!! Snorkeling and scuba diving in the area amazing so many things under the water to see. This is one of Roatan's older properties so.e of the amenities need some TLC. Compared to some newer resorts on the this one is less crowded better views and kind of far from airport but still around 20 mins so not too bad. Most of the staff dont speak English so you will need to know basic spanish or use you pho e to communicate. You will definitely need some bug repellant to dip yourself in because the island has biting sand flies. All and all my wife and I had great time Snorkeling and lounging with almost no crowd. Wait and Bar staff are awesome and extremly friendly and cater to you.

Very old wooden facility... Smell of rotten wood... Needs a capital restoration... No phones in the rooms... If you need talk to the reception, you have to walk all the way to there... No warm water... The staff effectively doesn't speak english... The tables under the beach's tikkies needs cleaning... Something close to the diving center (probably water recycling facility, laundry or something else) is emitting a pungent and putric smell... Alot of mosquitoes and sun flies... Very muddy dirt roads... Rooms and bathroms were clean... The staff is very friendly... Clean cute pool... Clean beach... Unique sea water! Clean, warm, soft and calm sea... No waves at all, even in a stormy weather... The boats are passing far from the beach and no noice and exohsts are disturbing the beach beauty and calmnes... Good diving... If you need your problems to be fixed fast and effectively, you will have to talk to Tisha or Sineal... Or to take a coctail and get on the beach to forget it... Alot of exotic wildlife is walking around the resort. Monkeys, humming birds, turkey vultures, aguti/sereque etc...

I couldn’t even stay 1 night … I lost my money , but there was no way for me and my family to sty in a unsafe and unhealthy environment. No Ac , dirty, old , smell like mold , they said it was all inclusive (NOPE) they had a plastic container with some type of bread for you to grab and eat! It look like a horror movie- This is not a hotel , is a Motel of the worse. ALL I WANT IS FOR EXPEDIA TO REMOVE THIS “HOTEL FROM RIPPING OTHER PEOPLE TO BUY something that is unacceptable. Pictures are not accurate!!! Please take this hotel out from any selling sources.. I ONLY SPEND THERE minimum 2 hours.

Horrible experience. It was a room for three females. We only got two old towels. Not enough toilet paper. When we went for reception to ask for an extra towel and toilet paper we were told there wasn’t any. Not even toilet paper!!!!!!!!! Receptionists are not welcoming at all. They’re rude. The buildings have cracks on it. Property needs maintenance. Food was ok. Don’t waste your money there. Very disappointed and frustrated

The worst property we have ever seen for a Caribbean resort, and we have been to many in 25 years. The beach and snorkeling were very good. The owner has done no upkeep on any of the resort. Food is very limited for choice. The owner doesn't realize that this property is a goldmine that he is not tapping into.

Fantasy island has soooo much potential. The location for the beach can’t be beat. You open the door of your room and you’re pretty much on the beach. It’s beautiful. We were just there. September 2023. There was one person from the front desk who was amazing. Her name was Deisy. The men were pretty nice too. But everyone else was rude. They couldn’t be bothered. The tv in our room didn’t work. No wifi. The door broke like the second day in so we didn’t need the key to get in the rest of our stay. There isn’t really any hot water and 2 out of the 6 days we were there, we didn’t get the room serviced. There is no AC in the restaurant when you’re getting your food it’s an oven, and the food itself is only ok. They’re not close to any store or gas station or anything so we had to get a taxi for everything and if it wasn’t time to eat, you couldn’t just get snacks or (non-alcoholic) drinks… unless the snack bar was open their 2 hours of the day. Also the wifi doesn’t work anywhere other than the lobby. The pool was hot, and the water in the rooms was cold until it felt like it was warming up. The owners need to invest in this place because the marketing for it got us. That’s not what it looks like in real life.

This property would be awsome if the owners invest on it. The location and beach are great, but everything is old and in bad condition. Air conditioning has fungus everywhere! You could smell it in the room. Towels are old!, the floor needs restoring, NO WIFI, transportation is horrible!, the shuttle never picked us up at the airport, had to pay for taxi. This was an all inclusive trip and it was supposed to be covered. The food was grease, ssrvice was so so, they tried. But management needs to make adjustments.

When I got to the airport I was trying to get in touch with the hotel because I didn’t see my cab which had been arranged but they never answered me Luckily I was able to locate my cab but this could of resulted differently and I didn’t feel safe or secure. Another thing is they didn’t give us the control to the AC and TV until 3 days after arriving. They didn’t clean the room everyday only once every 2 days.Also a receptionist tried to rip us off with a cab service and expected us to take him with us and buy him food since he was “hooking us up” with the cab. Again I didn’t feel safe or secure the customer service was terrible. At the bar I bought a bottle I saw they had that was $40 and they had to switch out the bottle twice because it was not alcohol one tasted like vinegar and the other like dirty water. I also left my necklace in my purse in the closet and when I went to go look for it it was gone. My boyfriend lost his phone and no one tried to help us find it they said they checked the cameras and couldn’t locate where it was last seen but that’s impossible because he lost it at the resort. On the other hand all the other staff members were very humble and nice they were generous with us and tried to help us. The beach was beautiful as well as the pool it was clean. The food was good and we were able to do all the activities we wanted.

Is in a very bad condition, looks like iits abandoned, horrible mold smells, a lot of insects and i don't even know how the authorities haven't close this property. I make a 6 day reservation and couldn't stay no longer than 1 hour. I lost my money and had to make a diferent reservation at another hotel.
