Bathroom let down
One night stopover convenient for SDU airport (although our flight was cancelled suddenly), and our airline took us to GIG. We were given a room that was comfortable but sadly the bathroom had a snag list as long as your arm. 1 no door architrave on inside. 2 Mirror light hanging free suspended by it’s wires. 3 No vent grille on extractor, just a big hole (and the thing didn’t cut out at all. 4 Towel rail so loose we dare not hang a towel on it. 5 Shower soap dispenser completely empty. Avoid end room 470 (4th floor).

The hotel is nice, the surroundings not so much, luckyly the hotel restaurant is good. It was a good selection for a business trip.

Walking distance from SDU Airport. Great for a lay over or 2 days. Clean room. Quality linen, towels. Weekend staff limited English language. Very few eating places nearby. Breakfast price steep. But practical for a few days. Metro not close either … a good 15 min. walk .

It is not safe place I recommend not sleep in this hotel, the security guards, the hotel he was connect with a girl she is a hooked and they try to get money from me at this hotel the security was knocking my door Many time I dint open.

fairly basic hotel hence the price for Rio nicely located close to Santos Dumont airport & the tram network that links up to the Rio Metro hotel is in aquiet & safe area of Rio rooms could do with being modernised but its ok for a nights stay

Nice hotel. Good location. 4 out of 5 stars
The hotel staff is very nice and professional. Hotel is clean however the elevador, hallway and walls need maintenance. The rooms are nice however the walk to the room from elevador through the hallways needs improvement. I was happy with the breakfast and restaurant dining experience. Good food at a fair price.

The hotel is a complete dump. It is a three star hotel at best. Really disappointing. It’s so dirty and so old it should be blown up. I cannot believe that anyone would think this is a four-star hotel or better. I would avoid at all cost I would almost sleep in the street before I stayed in this dirt box.

Sleepless in Rio
The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. However we had two issues, one more concerning than the other. The restaurant wait staff was helpful although missing for long time and our orders didn’t arrive on time if they did at all. The second issue we had was the room air conditioning. The second night we were there, the AC unit started beeping in the middle of the night. After trying to turn it off and going through various settings I gave up and called the front desk. They were helpful and offered to change rooms (and offered earplugs for me. But the two kids I was traveling with were alseep so I didn’t feel comfortable leaving them alone. So I had a restless night.

I would like to start with I had a great time visiting Rio dr jan all the staff were very friendly and helpful especially Gabriel We really enjoyed the rides and all the other amenities but I was a little disappointed as soon as I entered the room I found everything very cool during the day I went to shower, hair on the shower floor, the most disappointing dirty sheet !!! was not changed from the last guest. The breakfast was good but my husband and I found dirty glasses of lipstick.the location is very good. was near everywhere we wanted to go. The great thing about this hotel is the location and the front desk staff gabriel.

You can walk here from Santos Dumont airport in less than 10 minutes without crossing a street! And the VLT street car is 4 blocks away - you can take it to the heart of downtown or the Metro (subway). Very safe during the week, quite deserted onSunday.

Return to Rio for business.
I have stayed here twice before. I keep coming back - is there a better recommendation? Very convenient to SDU airport and downtown Rio. Very good business hotel - not so good for tourism as it is away from the tourist hot spots and downtown is almost completely closed on weekends.
