The price and location of the accommodation was very good, especially since it included breakfast.
However, the fridges and safes in the room did not work (in fact there were sparks coming out of the fridge plug). The staff were mostly friendly.
My room was right next to the dining room & kitchen and at times the noise was really not fun!
The rest was really good and friendly helpful service from the staff.
The place was clean.
Hotel was clean and located in a nice quiet family district of Rio. The breakfast was nice and met my expectations. The only thing I would say was that the bath towels, although perfectly clean, looked and felt a bit worn out. The paint on some surfaces (doors, door frames and walls) looked a bit tired. The staff was friendly and very helpful.
Sited 15minutes from copacabana beach. A pleasant hotel in the residential area, restaurants fairly close by, metro station about 10minutes away. One felt safe walking in this area even at 22.00 hours. The hotel is like an old mansion house and is very comfortable. Staff were always helpful. There was always an English speaking member of staff on duty, but the also spoke Portuguese and Spanish. Good value for money.

Safe, lively neighbourhood, Peixoto is 15 mins walk from the beach but that's all part of the fun. Staff were absolutely superb. Room was clean and spacious with a balcony, breakfast fine, overall a real pleasure to stay there.

Very friendly staff and good breakfast. Really liked the area with local feel and safe. About 10 mins from the beach. Rooms had tall ceilings

Breakfast is our first day meal, then he is quite important - Good you enjoyed this one.
Besides that the hotel stays in a very familiar area, so this uniqueness helps us to have a calm and peaceful environment around us.
Truly.
It's amazing how a friendly staff can really affect your overall feelings about a hotel. The guy at the front desk was great and the hotel itself is very good. Cool artwork in the lobby. I would recommend staying here. Great value.
Nice clean little hotel just over 1km from Copacabana beach. Shops, bars, restaurants are within 20-minute walks from the hotel. There is a metro station very nearby. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The furniture in the corridors and in my room was nice old solid wood, which makes this hotel standout from others in its price range. The only negative point is that the free wifi is spotty and slow. I would definitely come back!
I was here during the carnaval, so the price for the room was sky high (triple). The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast, provided. Fairly close to the beach and in a very quiet and safe neighbourhood. Room small but OK, clean and comfortable. Good WiFi. Regular price pretty high for what you get, but probably in line with Copacabana.
Stayed here for a total of 2 nights on 2 separate reservations. The hotel is located in a nice, quiet and very safe neighborhood. A bit of a walking distance to Copacabana. Our room looking at the alley was worn and damp. Thanks to my allergy, I am an iodine test for dust mites and yupp, the room had lots. The breakfast was minimal but good. The receptionists speak good English. Especially the night manager is very friendly. The toilet in the reception did not have soap, a big minus. Overall just another overpriced Rio hotel, which has a rather higher value for money compared to others I stayed in.
Enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Staff very helpful and tried to accommodate our requests. Room comfort very satisfactory, wifi in room very good. Overall very satisfactory and will recommend this hotel to my family and friends.
No negative comments.
We stayed for 3 days. Great staff, good breakfast with freshly cooked eggs, good old clean and quiet hotel that needs few minor fixes. Great location with nearby supermarket and farmer's market on Wednesdays. Also have police watch for extra park and neighborhood security. Many shops and restaurants on the way to Copacabana beach which was 10 blocks away. Good tours info.
The staff was AMAZING! Keep in mind that we went at the time of Carnival, so we would get home late and the staff would make sure that they would give us a courtesy call so we could go get breakfast in case we slept in. The rooms are a bit small but enough for what you need! I mean you are in Brazil! The beach, the parties, the places to eat and see! The only thing...i wish the beds were a bit bigger. They are twin beds and im 6'1" so you can imagine my dilemna with finding a good spot.
We stayed for New Years with a great deal (family of 3). We had a wonderful experience! The staff was amazing and accommodating and the proximity to Copacabana Beach and restaurants was great (within walking distance). Theo only downside was the size of the room/bathroom (small) but we didn't mind since we spent most of our time out and about. Will (and have) highly recommended this hotel for stays in Rio.
I stayed 20 days over Christmas and New Year 2014 at this hotel. The hotel is located in Barro Peixoto a quiet neighbourhood of Copacabana. The hotel is 10 minutes walk to the beach. The staff were amazing and the room was clean and comfortable with a balcony and air conditioning.
Breakfast was either served on a tray in the room or you can make use of the new breakfast dining room on the ground floor.
This is a great hotel if you are looking for quiet neighbourhood with easy access to Copacabana beach. You get to Ipanema via metro (2 stops) which is 5 minutes from hotel.
I will definately stay there again.
I recommend this hotel for an economic stay in Rio. It is an expensive country and city so this goes for the hotels as well. Santa Clara is located in Copacabana and is among the cheaper hotels in the area. Here you will meet a friendly staff and get a room with nice standard. Breakfast is served in your room. This might sound good, but it felt more like an inconvenience, but keep in mind that it is mostly the location you are paying for, as I said it is an expensive city. The beaches are not far away so the hotel is in a good location if that's where you are headed as you can save a few reais on taxis.
The staff were extra friendly and the hotel felt secure. The room was a bit dark but I'm not one to hang around hotel rooms. It was fairly well located - not too far from Copacabana Beach and a block or two from a Metro stop. Breakfast served in your room was a novelty too! Recommended - if budget conscious.
great place little walk to ocean but if you walk one street over many taxi avail in 1 second ride to ocean joiner fee $15 usa best in price lowest price in rio by the ocean HIGHLY RECOMEND TO QUITE SINGLE GUY or family or couples good free breakfast too! I WOULD STAY AGAIN
Terrible location in relation to beach. The confusion about my prepaid reservation who's fault is still to be determined but I had to give another credit card even though I had my email from hotels com that I was fully paid. The hotel is nothing special. No updated plugs for computer that was not good
The hotel was nice and clean. Away from the noise of copacabana at night and day. You go party at the beach and come home to sleep to a quite place!!! Breakfast in bed was so cool
Friendly staff!!!
clean, quite, semi-cheap, safe neighborhood, close to copacabana (7 blocks), metro station (3 blocks), 15-20 minutes walk to leblon and ipanema...reliable wi-fi for connection and basic communication with outside of brazil...i liked it. would book it again...thumbs and toes up
I had a great time ,sleep well hotel close to the beach .shop ,restaurants ,excellent employes always ready to help.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
Good hotel
Pros: walking distance to Copacabana beach (~15mins), fairly safe neighborhood, breakfast in room, friendly and helpful staff who speak English
Cons: could be closer to beach, shower/bathroom was adequate but could be better
Overall I would recommend this hotel. If you can, ask for a room with a balcony (e.g. Room 301) as that was very pleasant at breakfast time.
