Low quality rooms , great staff
When I arrived I was put on a lower floor , it was disgusting and wasn’t prepared to sleep dirt bed and bathroom, it was like 1920 . The reception staff were amazing and moved me to a better room ( average) but better. Breakfast was great and the top floor views

Being in Ipanema with sea view is great! Hotel located close to Nice restaurants, bars and shopping. Big rooms with sea view. Small pool area. Towels need mayor upgrade.

Awesome location, but needs to be remodeled now!
Location is great. Our room was not oceanfront but had lateral view to the ocean. The hotel is one block to Ipanema beach (the best beach in Rio de Janeiro).

An Amazing Staff in an Outstading Hotel
I cannot recommend the staff of this hotel enough… After losing my wallet on the way to the hotel, they truly went above and beyond what was necessary to make sure that I was taken care of. The room was clean, the food was great, their concern for my well-being was outstanding. It felt like I was staying with a friend. I will definitely be returning to Rio… And when I do this is the place where I will stay!!! (Update: As I was leaving Rio, the embassy called with news that a kind Samaritan had actually found and returned iwith everything inside to them !!)

It was an ok hotel, don't expect 3 stars, barely 2. Bathroom ceiling was all cracked up. Bathroom is tiny. Room is very old and needs some serious renovation. Staff was friendly and helpful though.

Great location near to Ipanema beach. We had 2 rooms for our family. The first on the 12th floor had been renovated and quite acceptable whilst my room was on 21 st floor and was tired and creaking! Great buffet breakfast on 23rd floor with panoramic 360 views. Reasonable price for such a good location.

Location of the hotel is perfect. Just one block from the best point of Ipanema beach. View from rooftop restaurant is amazing. Can see both Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas and Ipanema beach. Nevertheless, hotel condition is really bad for the price. Staff had not informed us about beach service during checkin. Aisle was smelling cigarette all the time, even for non smoking. Great location!
The Everest Rio has a wonderful location. Just a few minutes walk to the beach. It is located in a residential neighborhood that is peaceful and close to many restaurants, bars and shops. Staff was helpful. I'd definitely consider staying again.

Hotel is stuck in the 1970s
The room they put me in was old and smelled of urine no matter how many times the maids cleaned the bathroom. The bathroom was creepy with brown toilets and terrible lighting. Overall the hotel needs major renovations but the staff is very friendly and helpful. Also they don’t offer great cable or provide you with an iron to press your clothes.

Close to Ipanema Beach, convenient
Everest Rio is a very convenient hotel located 1 block away from Ipanema beach. However, the rooms are in need of serious repair and upgrading. The room I stayed in does NOT look anything like the photo posted on Expedia's website. Also, the price for each room is the same (according to the front desk clerk) so make sure and request a room with a beach view on a high floor. We had a lagoon view, which was nice, but I could imagine the ones with the street view weren't too nice.

Nice Location, one quarter off the beach
The nicest thing is the view from the roof top restaurant with lovely 360 degrees view. The hotel itself is solala, but ok for that price. The elecators don't indicate if they go up or down, so they may waste your time making you going into the wrong direction.

Only I block from Ipanema Beach
We had a renovated room which was large, comfy & Great A/C & strong shower. Hotel needs better Satellite TV-very few English stations. Bkfst Buffet was quite good with lots of fresh choices. I was disappointed that I was promised a hotel Carnivale T-shirt, but never rcvd. Good service & security during Carnivale Block & Trucko parties. We had so much fun! Abregado! Liked small rooftop pool & the outdoor seating @ roof top restaurant.
