The room itself was charming, I liked it a lot. There was no AC, but it was cool enough w the window open. WiFi was not the best in the room itself, but it sufficed. The bathroom smelled horribly like mildew, and the towels were super thin. Otherwise, I would say it was a good stay.

Great location and very friendly staff. The hotel is in an old building, hence if you are for a taste of old times, a little akward layouts, sometimes slightly slanted or screeching floors you wont be disappointed. BTW it was my second time staying there.

Lovely hotel
Lovely hotel with fabulous service. The receptionist was particularly service-focussed. High ceilings made the room feel very spacious and triple glazing cut out the noise 100%. Great location in the heart of the old town. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety.

Very cool and unique boutique hotel and locally owned! Ask Lev to tell the history of the building and the Gutenbergs family (still owners). Within minutes walking of old downtown square and a multitude of shops, restaurants, and nights clubs.

I would definitely stay here again. The service was completely outstanding. I felt like a made a lifetime friend with Levs. At first he seemed too good to be sincere but I learned he was absolutely top notch and went beyond any service I had encountered before. (I am an old woman so there was no reason he was doing this except being caring and excellent.) He directed me to great non-tourist happenings, looked out for a cancellation of dinner reservations at the rooftop restaurant that was otherwise always fully booked, and researched the background for something that was a concern to me.

Our stay at this property was really enjoyable. The concierge was 24/7 (I believe this is a summer thing and it is 8am-10pm otherwise - still quite good) and it was extremely convenient to come and go. Breakfast service from 8am-11am had a great selection, and being open for 3 hours gave us a ton of flexibility. We really liked this location right off one of the big squares, but a couple blocks over from the main tourist action (so much quieter than that side I imagine). Turning away from the square provided a quick shortcut to the riverside that made getting to public transportation super easy. Levs at the concierge was amazing. His personal touch was great - he knew who we were, greeted us every time we came, had lots of good stories about things going on locally, and just made us feel very welcome. There is a reason half these reviews mention him!

Wonderful localization and extraordinary servis.
The service was extremely nice. The young man at the front desk was intimidating with his kindness and willingness to help. The food at breakfast was very good and varied, there were some queues for the coffee machine but I had time. Although the rooms were cleaned every day, our room must have been unused for a long time because there was a layer of dust everywhere. However, the Art Nouveau interior design compensated for this slight inconvenience. The location in the very center of old Riga was also a great convenience. I recommend it to everyone who can turn a blind eye to dust. M

Go, even if just to meet Levs.
This hotel is worth visiting if only to experience Levs, the most incredible, enthusiastic and knowledgeable concierge I have ever met. Nothing was beyond this man. Somehow he even shut the Disco down so we could sleep better! Just incredible. Yes, there were things we could make issues out of, but more than compensated for by Levs.

Exceptional in Every Way
Gutenbergs Hotel is perfectly located to explore the city of Riga. The hotel has a wonderful old world feeling about it. However what really sets it apart from other hotels is the friendliness and efficiency of it’s staff. We were made to feel most welcome by all staff, in particular by the young man who was working reception on Saturday 3rd December. He was extremely professional. Breakfast was plentiful and excellent quality. Gutenbergs provided exceptional value for money. We will be back.

The staff qas excellent, went above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Room was super cute and I enjoyed the balcony. I slept very well in the bed, warm and cozy. Breakfast was delicious and filling. And easy to walk anywhere in old town and beyond

Good choice for weekend away
Quirky boutique hotel in Old Town. Night Manager very entertaining. Room was comfortable and spacious. Hotel had a lot of character and roof top restaurant was very good with extensive wine list

Shower drain was too slow and toilet bowl was choked and needed cleaning. Room was clean and Wi-Fi was excellent.

Very beautiful hotel with a character. Exceptional service. Great location. It was a bit stuffy in our room. It was on the last floor with small window and very limited fresh air. Air conditioner was very helpful although it was not strong enough to cool the room fast. Overall I recommend this hotel.

We felt very special at this hotel. The reception team is fantastic, very friendly & knowledgeable. The hotel is great and you feel that you are a king at a royal palace. The location is very central in the old town, but on a quiet street.

Hotel is central to the old town . We stayed in the old part of the hotel which had lots of original features. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly.

Hotel Gutenberg Riga
Our stay was mixed with the restaurant waiter rude and the breakfast for three days being cold due to the warming trays not being switched on. Cold meats and cakes were limited and not refreshed. Had it been near breakfast closing I would understand. Room was not cleaned and cups left by room service. The main reason that made our stay pleasant was due to Leif on reception. A very knowledgeable person having been teacher and archaeologist. Nothing was not to much trouble to make our stay very memorable. An asset to the hotel.
