Not expensive so don't expect frills or a big room or air conditioning - but it is good value for money. Great central location yet set behind the main drag in Reims so quieter as a result. Very friendly staff.

The hotel has historic charm--like the quaint lift. It is in a great location in Reims on a lively pedestrian street close to sights and connections. It is across the street from an underground city parking service. There are a variety of restaurants for all budgets in the area (but make reservations for the better ones). The breakfast is good if you want something substantial, otherwise there are a couple coffee shops down the block. We stayed in November and it was quiet. Some may find the old hotel a bit cramped a worn here and there, but the TV and plumbing worked well and the beds were comfortable.

Hotel Crystal is a quiet haven only five minutes walk from the train station. The property is very clean and I love the terrace in front. The staff is wonderful, and I recommend the breakfast! Thanks for a great stay in Reims!

Nice hotel in a really good position with a street full of restaurants outside and it looks decent. Polite staff, decent breakfast and we enjoyed our stay. Parking - nightmare. You have to park in the public car park which is underground so you've got to lug your cases up a lot of steps before you get to reception

Does the job
For one night or two the hotel is fine. It's extremely well located, clean and does the job. Paid underground parking out front (great for the hot summer months). It's a little dated, and didn't have any air con in the room, but what it lacked it made up for in price - we enjoyed a delicious meal on the same street with the money we saved by staying here. We were, however, awoken around 11pm by reception due to some administrative error.

Pleasant hotel in a good location
The hotel is in a really good position next to an underground car park. The courtyard is a very picturesque place to sit out, and the dining room and reception areas have a very classic french hotel feel to them. The bathroom and shower were clean and recently refurbished. Unfortunately there was no hot water on the evening when we arrived. There was hot water in the morning

Loved stay.
Had a great stay. Close to metro and great location by the Louve and shopping. Had extra pillows and a comfy bed. The staff was super helpful, the metro and bus stations went on strike half way through our stay (taxis almost impossible too) but the woman at the front desk was diligent and helped us with transport so we didn’t miss a thing. So grateful !

Cute Hotel in the Centre of Reims
Very cute hotel in the centre of Reims just a couple minutes walk to the central train station. Awesome linens. Small but cute room and a very cute patio with flowers.

A lovely little hotel off the main street. Pretty basic, but has everything you need. Location is perfect as relatively quiet yet only 50m from one of the main streets with an easy walk to the Notre Dame, etc. and an underground (public) car park about 100m away. The courtyard is a lovely little gem. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

I stayed one night in Reims and this was all that I needed: a clean, safe hotel. Staff was great. Rooms weren’t huge but the bathroom and shower were actually bigger than in other places.

A very nice, convenient hotel in the middle of everything. An older hotel, the elevator doesn’t go all the way up to the 5th floor. Also, the doors don’t filter outside sounds. Staff was awesome, and it is a cute hotel.

24 hour check in is a lie, which is my biggest complaint. Also the breakfast was expensive, but really the only breakfast available before 11 am in the area, soooo...I don't know. Otherwise, the location was AMAZING and the room was clean. Beds were uncomfortable.

Staff were excellent and very helpful with advice. Room clean and hotel well positioned in centre of town with cheapish parking nearby. Inside a bit dated and tired but reflective of the price. Only down was a lukewarm to cold shower (this is winter too) that due to the shortness of our stay - one night - I didn't make an issue of with the front desk. Hopefully it's a one off thing or they read the reviews and remedy the problem.

Four Days in Reims
Hotel is superbly situated just behind the main road and has the underground car park very close by. There is a good selection of restaurants and bars all around, so Reims is a great place to visit. Unfortunately the Crystal is an old building and the rooms generally are very small and poorly furnished. My wife and I had to ask for a bigger room, which wasn’t much better. There was one small wardrobe and no drawer or shelves anywhere, genuinely living out of a suitcase. Breakfast is typically French, and pretty good, but there are no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms. Staff were friendly and the place was adequately clean, if old and well worn.

Quaint little slice of France
The hotel looked very quaint, with chandeliers and a classic ancient elevator. A little eating/smoking/drinking courtyard just added to its charm. The room was recently renovated and while well appointed, was very small. There was no air conditioning, nor free coffee - not only in the room but in the whole hotel. When we opened one of the large windows for air, it nearly fell off its hinges. The elevator, which barely fits two people with luggage, broke down just before we left and lugging two suitcases down a spiral staircase four floors up was no fun. Staff were friendly.

We arrived at the Hotel Crystal to be told that our pre- booked room was not available, due to overbooking! The Hotel Cecil was offered as a substitute; one star less,further from our car parking location and no outer garden area to relax in, so not a fair substitution. Reception staff at both hotels were very polite and helpful.

DO NOT STAY at this hotel if traveling with more than two people. We booked and paid for a triple room, however, it was a double room with a single bed squeezed in somehow. It was so cramped we could hardly see the carpet. We had been traveling around northern France for sometime and every other hotel provided good size triple rooms, however, not this one. DO NOT STAY at this hotel if traveling in the hottest 9 months of the year. All rooms face west and without air conditioning almost impossible to sleep in.

Nice stay in the town centre
The stay was okay. I was slightly shocked by the reception, they needed quite some time to find us on their system. We had two rooms, so in the end, they at least were able to put us on the same floor. And no internet information until asked specifically the next day. Nothing in the room: no kettle, etc. The bathroom was nice, especially the family room. And hot as no air con. But overall, beautiful old style furniture. For one night, perfect, but wouldn't want to stay longer.

Great little character hotel. Very close to train station. Very close to food, shops, mall and tourist places. Good food. Staff excellent to help with anything. Very friendly and helpful. Great place to stay. Loved it.

We will come back!
We really enjoyed our stay and loved the view of the rooftops from our room. The room was comfortable and the staff were helpful. There was a water leak at the hotel, requiring water to be shut off intermittently and the staff went out of their way to provide water bottles and ensure our comfort.

I Can See It Has Potential
We could notice room remodeling to modernize, which was nice, but sometimes old is just old. For example, upon first entry the room smelled very musty, though opening the windows immediately masked that issue. But we had no water from 11 pm to 7 am due to some issue with the pipes. That is rather constricting, and there is no way I can say I liked a hotel with that issue, so glad we were only there 1 night. The hotel has a nice location, easy walk from the gare and right behind a main row of restaurants. Room was among smallest we’ve had on a long trip through France.

The hotel is well located and clean but the room we had was very small and the beds are not very comfortable. Reims is lovely though, so we didn't want to spend much time in the room anyway.
