It was our first time visiting Dominican republic, and we will definitely go back! Everything about our stay was amazing. The staff, food, cleanliness, entertainment, drinks; everything was amazing. The beach was okay. I definitely recommend doing the excursion to saona beach. If you’re thinking on going to vacation with your kids don’t doubt it, everything was super clean and save.

There was a couple of issues, our room AC was very poor, no hot shower, only warm water after opening all shower and sinks and letting run for 5 mins. It was reported but never fixed. The beach was not good at all, this is not their fault but only the pool was good to use, beach water was dirty.

Staff was excellent and very friendly and helpful. Entertainment was amazing, funny, skilled, and great dancers. Rooms and service was also amazing. Didn't like not having 24hr or later service in bars. All in all great experience!

We love our stay in bahia principe gran la romana, the rooms and the staff were amazing, arianna and genna from the entertainment team were always nice and taugth us how to dance , the entire team have excellent customer service skills .we will definitely be coming back.

we spent 6 nights in this resort. I can say that we had a good time and the food was very good. the buffet option was one of the best because of the variety and the children definitely eat something. people are sociable. the children and the husband enjoyed it more since I had a reaction from a cream used before. I want to single out one person and her name was Yissell who helped me a lot in this situation because she convinced my daughter in a good way to stay in the miniclub and she activated her in many games because my daughter is a little difficult child. While my husband took care of the son and I did not go out in the sun because of the reaction on my face, with a few words she saved our vacation and her English was very good, I was surprised. (Apologies for the long review) Stayed: 4/29-5/6 Pros: Staff: was immaculate, this is the 2nd All-inclusive resort we have been to (the other one was in Cancun) and this staff went above and beyond to ensure you were having a great time. They also learned our names and were very respectful. In particular "Joan Querillonsin" was a stand out for us. We met him on our first day and was so friendly. Every morning we had breakfast he was there and the Italian restaurant as well, very respectful. Activities: This resort has an activity board that gives details of the activities they will have in the resort. These include Volleyball, Pool Zumba, Mini golf, ping pong, etc. These activities keep the vibe alive and get all guests included and the staff is always so enthusiastic and talented as well. They also have children-specific activities like drawing and bracelet-making Cons: Pool: The time that we were there was considered Winter time so the pool was only open 8-6pm (8-7pm in summer months). I understand this is due to the children but my partner and I love swimming and this was a disappointment for us as we could not swim when it was not hot out. Food Options: The resort has a buffet, snack buffet, and 3 restaurants. The 3 restaurants are only open at night and REQUIRE reservations days in advance. Buffet has limited options and is open at weird times Room Service: There was none, no ability to get food delivered. 7.5/10: Overall had a great time!

The Bahia Principe customer service and check in was very easy and smooth; they spoke English very well and staff were very nice. The staff was nice and I was even able to check in a bit early. However! The BUFFET at Bahia principe was HORRIBLE! The worst food, worse selections, I can’t describe how bad the buffet was. Also the “ala carte restaurante dinner” you have to reserve one of those like a month before you even get there. I was able to get this one ala carte dinner reservation by asking the staff what they can do, (so you’ll have to take 30 minutes of your vacation time to do this) so they were able to get me the Pescador dinner reservation. However the dinner was so mediocre, I’d rather have had the bad buffet. In fact my wife and I went to the buffet after because the fish they served us in the pescador restaurant was so dry and salty, we were both afraid of getting sick we didn’t finish it after one bite. The Pool is very nice, probably due to the beach not being the nicest ive seen. Small beach and brown ocean water. The rooms only had 1 wall outlet. The A/C didnt work very well. Definitely not worth the price.

We flew into Santo Domingo and had a 45 minute ride to the resort. We arrived at the Grand Bahia La Romana and the staff asked us (just my boyfriend and I) if we were in the right place bc the la Romana is next to the Bouganville. The Bouganville is adults only and thr la Romana is for families. We paid to upgrade and ended up staying at the Bouganville. Whats nice is if you stay at the Bouganville, you can go to all the reataurants (at both resorts) vs if we has stayed at La.Romana, we would have only been able to eat at the la romana reataurants. Both resorts (they are next to each other) are a bit older but are clean. The food was delicious. The drinks were great and the staff were very accommodating. I would definitely go back here. The La Romana was a great place to go if you have kids and want a nice getaway.

This resort was beautiful. From the rooms to the staff it was absolutely 10/10. The food was incredible and the grounds were lovely. Not to mention the PGA golf course.. would stay here again and definitely WILL stay here again.

You need upgrade on the water pressure on the hotel I had no pressure and no hot water for 5 days no one could not switch my rooms and they try fixing it 3 times no better and bedding needs to be more comfortable other than the employees awesome

Had a great time on my bday trip with friends. Room was spacious and the hotel was beautifully done. Very Caribbean vibes with palm trees and greenery. Beach area was very nice and serene. The water was not clear like typical Caribbean Sea as it had rained a few times during stay and I believe a river flows into the area as well. It was still nice and warm and water was calm. Staff was amazing and they always had entertainment night and day. Everyone was friendly and food options were delicious. Pool area was nice and big and plenty of space for everyone. Of course swim up bar was main attraction! Definitely would come back again.

However, this does not mean that Bahia La Romana is not a clean or unsuitable beach for bathers, as a very strict cleaning routine is carried out on a constant and daily basis.

The picture is very misleading. The water is a mud pit. It is not blue or clear. A river dumps into the ocean at that resort. We lost electricity in our room about 10 times per day and couldn't get anyone to acknowledge the issue. I'm sure that it was an ongoing issue with that room, but they just danced around the problem and we gave up after 4 days. The check-in process was extremely difficult with the app. It took over 2 hours to get all the information input and saved because of the poor design. It wasn't user error - I'm a software engineer. The app sucks and they won't communicate with you until it's complete. They scheduled a bedhop to come get us at 2:30 am and take us to the lobby to check out and catch our ride to the airport for an early flight. No one showed up and the phones were not working. We had to haul our luggage down the stairs and across the property to meet our ride. We are both over 65. The adult quite pool is where we stayed for the entire vacation and it was wonderful. Great, great staff at that pool. Food was fabulous and the waiters, cleaners, and yard folks were also very nice. Some of the desk and guest services were obviously not interested in our issues with the electrical.

I dont recommend la romana area at all, there is a river that falls into the ocean around that area so the water is very dirty. The beach is dark green water. Dont recommend! DO NOT GO HERE

Really enjoyed our stay here. All inclusive buffet was 10/10 with so many options to choose from. The rooms were clean and house keeping came everyday. The only downside was the water pressure was not great, the internet in the room was inconsistent and the beach wasn’t giving tropical so we stayed by the pool the whole time. The buffet staff are amazing people, very friendly specially Jose, Hugo and the entire staff were very nice and friendly also the entertainment staff were very pleasants

The location of our room was very close to the function area of the adult only side. Music often playing late into the evening was very loud. Beach was very nice and comfortable chairs. This was close to bars and daily activities. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was very wheelchair friendly facility and the food was great with a wide variety. Overall we had a great stay!

everything available. Pools are great. All inclusive does not include some liquors. However, very poor wine quality. Large buffet but quality of food, sometimes was not ok

We loved the property and staff. Beach is relaxing and the pool area is a fun area. Always something to do! Food was good for an all inclusive too.

The surrounding property is very well kept. The grounds are cared for on a daily basis. The staff here do an excellent job in carrying out their duties. The shower in the room I stayed in was a bit small (I'm a bit over 6 feet tall).
