Excellent accommodations with a most caring staff. Owner Jan goes out of her way to ensure you have everything you need and want. Provided a light snack to take to the airport for an early morning flight. Not in the touristy part of Rabat and you really get the feel of the local residents.

Amazing!!
There aren’t enough stars or words to describe how exceptional our experience was at The Repose! I could go on and on about it all. The themed rooms are perfect and so fun. The beds and pillows are more comfortable than my own. The meals! Oh the meals! But what really makes the whole thing an experience instead of just a place to stay are the hosts. Morocco has a gift in Jan and Rachid. They are the best advertisement for Salé and Morocco and made our first trip here comfortable and inviting. They go above and beyond constantly. We are sad to leave.

Wonderful hosts and staff. Clean gorgeous room equipped with an AC and a mini-bar. They were kind enough to order us taxi to the airport at 3AM and provide us with breakfast goody bags. Close to the beach and the medina market.

Lovely Traditional Riad
This was a lovely retreat in Sale, across the water from Rabat. It was great for a couple of days before starting our longer Moroccan tour. The rooms were all delightful and we stayed in the Mango Suite which was beautifully decorated as each the rooms were. Our host, Jan, was extremely helpful and friendly. We ate a delicious vegetarian meal at the riad on our first night - great cooking - and breakfast was amazing.

Amazing experience!
The Riad is beautiful and the staff were wonderful. We were welcomed with tea and homemade cookies and then shown to our suite. We ordered the dinner the first night and the food and service were outstanding. Breakfast was delicious and very plentiful. Jan and her staff have thought of everything to make your stay relaxing and fun (including a tortoise on the terrace which our 5 year loved to feed).

Charming stay and helpful staff
Small idiosyncratically decorated riad with lots of charm and decent comfort. Owner Jan and her staff do everything to help guests enjoy Rabat-Sale (fantastic house made cookies to greet you on arrival, wonderful and very reasonable massage service). Rooms are a good size and comfortabe, showers a bit feeble. Easy 200 meter walk from nearest point accessible to a taxi.

Excellent Riad in Sale MA
It was an excellent stay. They gave us a free upgrade and the staff were very helpful. It was a 3 minutes walk to the main street. Very clean room and faculty.

Lovely!
Very solicitous staff in a beautifully restored building in the heart of Sale. Not far from transport to the touristy parts of Rabat, too. We'd definitely stay here again!

I didn’t stay the the full term,as the area felt very old and run down. Didn’t feel safe there attall. Also I felt the the owners could of given me back a small refund,rather than saying I booked through Expedia so this can’t happen. I’m sure they could off,as I only stayed 3 days out of the 9 days.Disapointing.

Great Riad ,but we paid what we were quoted
The Riad is really pretty and the service is very friendly. Unfortunately there is some confusion with the payment. We booked the room for 50euro on hotel.com and agreed with the owner on email that they will use xe.com exchange rate on the check-in date minus 0.5 to calculate the local currency payment payment. However, when we checked out we are informed that there is a local price they charge and the 50 euro quote on hotel.com is irrelevant, so in the end we paid more then what we were quoted. The payment we paid(cash) is more then the 50euro times agreed exchange rate. Not very honest business

From food to service, it was simply amazing!
This was my second stay here and again was only here for an evening prior to an early morning flight. Again they met every expectation - From food and drink upon our arrival, to a tour of the riad. The driver coming at 4:45 in the morning was no problem and completely on time. It was an amazing place to stay but it was the food that exceeded expectations on this visit - The food was simply amazing. Differed so much from traditional moroccan food, yet kept the moroccan vibe all the same. It was vegitarian, and my parents were raving about it. The pate will make me come back to dine again!

Fine for an overnight stay.
The hotel is nice and the owners making a good job in turning the place into a nice place. The place is quite and the staff is very helpful. The location is in the old town of Sale which is away from Rabat around 3mi, but the taxi drivers won't accept go there for safety and regulations reasons. So, if you decided to book here, just make sure to get to the Sale train station and contact the hotel to arrange for a pickup and drop off. Also, make sure to contact the hotel about your arrival time to have your room ready upon your arrival. The place is not family-friendly

Lovely Riad
The Repose is located in Sale, not Rabat. Rabat is across the bay. This riad was in a nice local area and it was not touristy. Very local experience! Hosts, Jan & Rachid are fantastic hosts! They were very attentive to all our needs and extremely accommodating. Rooms were clean, comfortable and cool despite the heat. The only negative is that the Riad is located next to a noisy street and a mosque so it can be loud at times. The dinners are fantastic and all food is locally sourced. Mint tea is amazing! Staff were helpful and fluent in English. Highly recommend this place.

Beautiful riad in residential medina
Beautiful riad; attentive staff; excellent welcome tea and breakfast; spacious and beautiful room; gorgeous, spacious and comfortable terrace; great location if you're up to winding your way through the medina: walk to the beach, take a rowboat across the river, and visit the Rabat Kasbah and souq. Great value!

Unforgettable Service
I have stayed in many hotels, but this has been FAR above and beyond the greatest experience I have ever had and opened my eyes to what a true 5-star experience should be. Every small detail was accounted for, from remembering our coffee preferences to running our bags into the room without prompting. We had a massage in the riad and a beautifully prepared romantic dinner during our stay and both were absolutely amazing (and reasonably priced). Jan, the owner and manager, made us feel welcome and gave us some great tips before we even checked in. For the rest of our trip we compared all our stays, many of which were double or triple the price, and none came even close to the experience at The Repose. I cannot say enough good things about our experience and will recommend it to everyone who even mentions they will be travelling to Morocco.

The hotel is located deep in the Sale old town, and if you arrive by private car, you can just navigate to the nearest road and park along the road side just like what local people do, free of charge. The service is good, and they seems to provide SPA service, although I didn't try. I actually forgot this reservation is payment on arrival, because all my other reservations are fully prepaid. Therefore when I left in hurry, as no one was in the courtyard, I just left the key in the room. Thankfully the hotel is able to charge me with the credit card info provided to guarantee the reservation. Hope this did not bother anyone.

Perfect Retreat
We spent a few days in Fez and had one night in Rabat before flying out of Casablanca. We were so pleased with our choice of stay for our one night in the city. It's a great location in the medina, very convenient to get to and from without having to get caught up in the winding neighborhood. Our hosts were extremely welcoming and generous. The dinner and service are fabulous and the place is absolutely gorgeous. When my partner and I checked in and toured the place, our bedroom had a queen bed. When we returned we were surprised to find the staff had decided to change us to two twin beds. Regardless, it was a pleasant stay with great atmosphere and we would recommend it to others.

Repose will be a highlight of your Morocco trip
My husband and I had the best stay imaginable at The Repose. We booked last minute via hotels.com and were treated with a fabulous stay in the African Suite. Do not miss out on having dinner at The Repose - you're in for a homemade Moroccan cuisine dinner, sure to be a highlight of your stay. Breakfast was fantastic - everything was homemade and fresh. Jan is an absolute sweetheart - she made sure to check in with us personally multiple times during our short one-night stay, making us feel right at home and welcome. Will surely be returning to The Repose :)

Beautifully decorated! Wonderful hospitality.
I was there to visit my boyfriend and stayed elsewhere until my last night. I chose this hotel on reviews, appearance, and close to airport (since I had a very early flight). One thing that I don't like, is that unless you can prove you are married, you can't stay in the same room, therefore my boyfriend had a separate room. Personally, I think that rule is ridiculous, but very common apparently. I suppose my main complaint would be....I woke up early in the morning to shower and head to the airport, and my room didn't have hot water! I tried for about 10 minutes to get hot water, then finally gave up. So I was a little upset. Other than that, the room is beautifully decorated, and the hospitality was great. Definitely need to contact them when you arrive, otherwise it is very difficult to find.

With regard Moroccan nationals having to be married to stay in the same room (the law only applies to Moroccans), this is the law throughout the whole of Morocco and, any hotel which tells you otherwise, is breaking the law, so this is out of our control. We are very sorry you did not appear to have hot water early in the morning - I suspect this was due to the gas bottle running out. Mains gas does not exist in Morocco and so we have gas bottles, but we have a bottle and spare for each room so, had you alerted us, we could have flipped the switch and you would have had ample hot water. We apologise for any inconvenience and we hope you enjoyed your stay in Morocco.

We had stayed in Rabat early in our trip and decided to try the other side of the river- Sale. This is the most wonderful place in Sale or Rabat. The beauty of the space requires photos to send home to make all jealous. Jan recommended we take a row boat taxi over the river and that was a blast! the Mosaic and school are just down the street and worth a peek into. We had dinner for 4 on the outdoor terrace which as visually stunning and gastronomically 5 stars! vegetarian/moroccan fusion perhaps? Home made with love for sure. Host assisted in our very early departure so we left on time and got to the airport before 6am with packed breakfasts in hand. Do go to Sale. Do stay at The Repose. We did take the tram a couple times and it is at most a 15 minute walk that you won't get lost doing!

Jan is an excellent host with the fine attention she shows to her visitors. She welcomes you with pastries, places chocolate on your pillow and best of all she has a map of the medina, Sale and Rabat.It was a good stay. A Must Stay!
It is worth it to visit Rabat/Sale just to stay at this place! The owner is absolutely amazing. We walked in the door, tired from our travels and she immediately took us up to the roof (which is amazing!) for tea, cookies and fruit. She gave us a tour of the place and gave us some very helpful and insider tips on visiting the cities. The rooms are quite fun and unique. Our bed was firm and the room very clean. The only downside was the shower, where you have to drain the water yourself and the water temp changes quickly (but hey, its in an ancient city!) and also perhaps the street noise at night. We were served dinner and breakfast on the roof terrace by the extremely hardworking staff and both meals were absolutely delicious. Both meals were perhaps the best we had during our week in Morocco and were very reasonably priced. Everyone there was so friendly that I was sad we only had one night there.

Vivid and serene, perfection!
This riad is phenomenal. The room was beautifully decorated and the service was warm and diligent. Jan arranged train station pickup, provided a thorough itinerary for my explorations of Sale and Rabat, and was generally very knowledgeable. Do have the evening meal, it was delicious! (The best produce I've had thus far in Morocco.

the Repose is a small & lovely riad in Sale, a town across the river from Rabat. The owner is a lovely person who made sure all our needs were attended to. The room was very clean & quite nice but because we were there in December, it tended to be chilly. We(my husband & I) were provided with a heater but it still was a bit colder than comfortable. Lovely breakfast & we also took dinner there which was satisfactory. In order to get to Rabat you must take a small boat which easy to walk to. I would recommend a stay there at a warmer time of year.

Flawless service in a beautiful road
I can't say enough good things about this lovely riad. I heard from the owner as soon as I'd completed my booking and she and her staff conitinued to provide wonderful service from that point on. The riad is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean and the food prepared by the staff was excellent.

The Repose and Jan are AMAZING
If you don't stay at The Repose you are missing out. The Riad is great, beautifully decorated, clean, quiet and the staff is welcoming and friendly. But what makes The Repose truly special is Jan, the owner. She goes above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and comfortable. The information she gave us about Sale' and Rabat was very detailed with many options. She even gave us a cell phone so we could call her if we needed to. All our questions were answered with honesty and thoughtfulness. I also have to mention the delicious vegetarian food served. We arranged to have a driver take us to Fes and during the drive she called to make sure everything was ok. Above and beyond!!!! During our 2 week stay in Morocco, we wished Jan and The Repose was in every city we visited. I highly recommend booking here, you will not be disappointed.
