The staff is nice, the room was good for the value. Roosters crow every morning at 4:30am. Your options is a room with no windows or a room on the mainstreet that is also loud. It is the owners responsibility to make a deal with a guy that has 10 chickens and 5 roosters. Hire him, buy his chickens or buy the property that has the roosters. Go to the city and complain This area is not zoned as a farm. Or your ratings will suffer. I complained to Expedia and they called the hotel and no one responded to Exoedia. This poor customer experience and noise level will get you bad reviews.

It is really close to the Bay Walk - spent a few nights there and just walked back. Close to most things that a visitor might need. Some great views too as advertised...it is called Sunlight Hotel afterall.

A diamond in the rough
Not so nice outside but very nice inside. They were doing lots of renovation in the building and had a strong paint smell but overall i was very happy with it

Sun light is a very nice place to stay. Big rooms also. Nice air conditioning that’s really cold. Shower is really great. I’ll stay there again. Don’t mess up the bed sheets that will cost you $40.00. Haha

Near Bayview Park [popular eateries, evening walks, etc.] Spacious Bath and separate tub CONS: WI-FI: Fair-Poor Ping:115-300ms; Download:15.66mbps Upload:7.8mbps "Ocean View" rooms, however, ALL come with not-the-nicest backyard view directly below at ground-level, as well as [possibly] THREE (3) Roosters that crow non-stop! Loud Karaoke bar nearby ... even on SUNDAY night. OBSERVATIONS: Gym is extra fee Hotel is ONLY the TOP (4th) floor of the large/expansive MegaMall; There are many rooms, but only "Ocean Views" (really "Bay View") have OUTSIDE views. Others are 'Superior Room' type, meaning 'windows' to hallways. Hotel is under airport/flight path. However, there are FEW flights daily. Firm/Hard Bed/bedding No internet when on the rooftop Deck. In the busiest part of the 'old' town/waterfront.

Don’t let the front entrance fool you. The street side is extremely busy, noisy, and rather dirty. Once inside the hotel the small lobby is quite nice. The rooms are above are quiet and it feels completely different from outside. Two of us shared a room with two large beds quite spacious. We had a balcony with a commanding view of the bay. Breakfast buffet was enough mostly Filipino foods but did have toast and buns, oatmeal, cold cereals. The only complaint was the TV did not get any stations. Also the obscured glass enclosure for bathroom is not very private, especially with light on in bathroom. You can definitely see shadows of person inside and noise was not insulated. Parts of the glass covering were peeling so it was clear. Close to everything the SM Mall is 10 minutes away by walking also the bay front walk is around the corner. There is pharmacy downstairs as well as a supermarket and local department store

Located on the 4th floor above a multi-level mall, the room floor is bright, clean and modern. The rooms are big and the balcony is lovely. Puerto Princessa is loud and busy but being on the 4th floor puts you a bit above everything. Great location right in a busy shopping area with lots of restaurants and a short walk to the Baywalk area. The free, yes FREE airport shuttle was great and ready exactly when requested. The hotel provided us with a full to-go traditional Filipino style breakfast since we had to check out before breakfast started, it was a lot of food and very good. The only thin I can thin of was that the bed was pretty firm, a bit too firm for me but that is subjective of course.

Overall I enjoyed my stay... my only serious gripe would be the mattress.. hard as the floor...please upgrade to more plush and softer bedding for future guests... I know their backs would appreciate it.. mine unfortunately did not..

Unattentive front desk and dirty bathroom
The place needs general cleaning and a bit of renovation. The bathroom and tub was dirty, they need to clean the place even if it a bit old. During check in, we were sitting in the sofa at the receptions area, waiting for like 30 minutes. If I didn't ask for an update we wouldn't know that we are already done checking in. The lady staff said oh you're already checked in! I was like oh nobody informed us.

Great stay
My stay at the sunlight guest hotel was nice...they have a free shuttle service from the airport arrived a little early room wasn't ready but it was ok..the rooms are super big with a balcony. My wife loved the tub in the bathroom. I loved the roof top bar. .nice view. The front desk was very friendly they even helped us to book a tour. Overall enjoyed our stay. .

Don't stay here!
First of all...good point about this hotel.. good location if you want to shop at a huge modern mall.. Also there is some souvenir shopping and groceries nearby. okay.. on to not so good points. Bed is as hard as a rock. Would be great if you were a dog. Almost like sleeping on the floor! Carpets are dirty. Shower sucks.. just a trickle. Internet is not good. Always off and on. Also, only works on the 4th floor which is where the hotel is. This is not a hotel building. It's one floor. Pay extra for the view or you will get a view of a wall. There is no beach nearby. You can take the tours from the hotel but if I had to do it again, I would stay about 45 minutes from this hotel and the airport on one of the beautiful beaches. There is really not a lot of beautiful things around this hotel. It's in the middle of a crowded downtown with lots of traffic. The breakfast is horrible. It was so bad that even though it was free, we didn't want it. Sometimes they had eggs to order and sometimes they had cold scrambled eggs. Everything else looked really scary. You had to hunt someone down to get anything extra like tea or salt. Staff was fairly friendly but not very helpful. They didn't seem to know a whole lot about anything. Price was not good for what you could get in other parts of Palawan. There is no pool, no beach, no relaxation. Just one floor of a building with a hard bed. That's all.

Four days in a decent jumping point
The room was spacious and part of a free upgrade, so I was definitely pleased with that. The location was convenient, with the waterfront, SM and many restaurants nearby, even if the adjacent street was often crowded and a bit of a rough road. The staff were good at helping me with concerns, such as making sure I had a pre-packed breakfast since I had to check out before the breakfast buffet opened. They arranged for me to get a tricycle to the beach and helped me schedule a few tours. Good job.

Change there restaurant!
This hotel has nice rooms if you get a bay view room it’s problems are all about the terrible restaurant Ricardos group run this buffet rubbish it’s all Chinese cheap food yes it’s cheap to eat there to but you can have water or camansi juice which is also your welcome drink choice there is no restaurant within walking distance hiking maybe I bought my own coffee for my room so I didn’t even use the included breakfast again buffet I can’t have water that’s not bottled as I have a condition and the water is not safe in there restaurant. I can’t comment on the spa or gym as i didn’t use them. The place is still having work done the staff are great though my advice there’s better in peurto Princesa. WiFi is only on 4th floor ok as so was my room if they had a good international restaurant I’d recommend it but it’s not it’s all about profit buffets are aren’t they.

Nice hotel with very awesome staff willing to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Hotel is good for the price, it is located very close to airport and everything you need is right around you. I would recommend upgrading or getting the deluxe room for the extra bucks so you can get the view of the ocean with your own balcony.

A Diamond in the Rough
For the rates we were charged this hotel was fantastic. Facilities were plush, my view of the harbor was great, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The included breakfast was a full hot and cold buffet line. The rooftop lounge was great in the evening. I was truly surprised at the quality of the hotel, which would probably rate five stars in any major city. I stayed in about a dozen different hotels throughout the Philippines during my trip, but this was by far the best, given quality and cost.

Clean and comfortable; crowded surroundings
Hotel lobby and room is generally clean and service is good. Location of hotel is also very good as it is within a short walking distance to SM City Puerto Princesa. Downside is that the hotel is in a very crowded area with heavy human and vehicle traffic.

A nice hotel but breakfast could be improved as each morning they always seamed to run out of choices regardless of how early you arrived. Also try not to get a room near the elevator as it chimes every time it stops.

Beautiful hotel. Very large room. Location was good and bad. Close to a modern shopping mall but quite smelly and dirty across the street. That doesn’t bother us but may bother some. Staff was very friendly.

The hotel is central and close to things and the staff are very good The food was my only disappointment as it was always cold and filipino only Pork belly was great Maybe add one chicken curry or something It was nice looking at the bay during meals The attractions are great the underground river then we went to el nido and that was fantastic Palawan a must see destination

The hotel is close to the new SM mall so we figured it would be convenient. The internet never worked, the room was right by the upper level lobby and the noise was terrible. The mattress was... cant even think of a description as it was that bad. Very disappoonting

1)Hotel location is walking distance to City Baywalk park which is a tourist spot and best visited during dinner time where there are variety of restaurants. 2) They offer free airport shuttle when checking out. 3) Free breakfast is good. 4) Hotel is somewhat a little older but maintained. Rooms are big and clean for the price. 5) Will comeback if in Puerto Princesa.

Terrible Hotel & Staff
Booked this hotel for 2 days. 1. Got single bed room despite request for a 2 twin bed in the booking 2. Room was dirty, (stained carpet & sofa) 3. Things in the room was terrible, shampoo diluted and doesnt smell good, containers are old seemingly re-used and importantly, towels are stinky 4. Staff service is worst ever. a. asking me to pay for 3rd person despite the fact that they did not provide anmy extra for the 3rd person, b. after calling their attention on the first 3, no one resolved it at all c. no one settled with me the question on payment for the 3rd person in the 2 days stay and they held me during check out where i almost miss my flight
