"I didn’t stay at the property. I intended to make a reservation for four nights at Hotel Plaza Mayor in Madrid, but mistakenly reserved for four nights at the unrelated Hotel Plaza Mayor in Toledo. "This is not a traditional hotel. You check in at a hostel (which was challenging to find, even with GPS), but if you have one of the apartments booked, it is not at that same location. In fact, our apartment was quite far from the hostel, and from friends of ours who we were traveling with - their apartment was also not in the same location as the hostel where we checked in. The hostel staff did not speak English, which was confusing when we were being told to follow a guy to the other part...

"We booked a one night stay. The room was like a sauna, no AC. I inquired and was told they had no idea when it would be fixed. The hall was cool??? No effort to move us, stated the problem was with all rooms. The entry area was cool??? We did not stay, the temperature was stuck on 31.5C°. Do not recommend this hotel, they could have notified us about the problem as we booked it several days in advance. Very unprofessional, did not offer any compensation. Never use this hotel chain again."

"Friendly welcome. Apartment had air-con which was good and basic cooking equipment. Could not find a kettle or a tea towel for drying pots. Slightly out from the centre of town but only a 5 min downhill walk to central plaza. Parking was harder than anticipated as free car park opposite was full due to local fiesta. We were lucky and spotted a car leaving so grabbed it quickly from the disabled spot we had temporarily taken up to unpack. Did not take up the breakfast option as made our own....
