This was a very clean and safe place to stay. The staff was helpful with arranging transportation to the airport. The only bad thing was the garage. Difficult to enter. Paul B

Great spot to stay with access to all Foz do Douro has to offer, and easy access to central Porto. Breakfast was fresh and had a lot of options. Rooms were small but comfortable with nicely updated bathrooms.

Very good value. Lovely hotel in superb location by the River. Friendly and polite reception staff. Room is small but very clean and comfortable. The only disappointment was the breakfast, no service from waiter, rotten fruit, old scrambled egg and disappointing Pastel de Nata. Better to go out for breakfast at a cafe.

Big room - they do not all have a view; lovely view from the rooftop bar area and swimming area. All surround restaurants need reservations to eat unless you go before 8 pm.

Disappointing
A decent hotel in a good location. However there was a property next door being renovated which meant there was banging,drilling going on all day. The staff were generally sullen and uninterested in the guests, you were left feeling not welcome. Good breakfast. Bus stop opposite the hotel for Porto. The experience could have been so much better with a more positive attitude from staff.

They gave us a very small room with little air flow and the air conditioning not working properly. The manager said there was no solution and that we could look for another hotel. Basically, take it or leave it. Very incompetent person. We suggested if it was possible to get another room but they said they had no rooms available. We got a different room the next day that was ok.

Arrived very late but check in was smooth and quick. A good sized very clean room . Breakfast service friendky and efficient with ok choices...dont let put you off. Great location and all staff helpful and friendly.

The hotel is in a great location for sea views. But... there is A LOT of building work going on around it, so it's dusty & noisy. We paid extra for a suite, only to discover that there was a building site right the other side of our bedroom wall. There was drilling and hammering shuddering through the wall into the evening & starting up again early in the morning. It was also situated immediately under the rooftop terrace with metal chairs scraping on the hard floor until the early hours. Not exactly relaxing! We asked to downgrade our room & to move elsewhere in the hotel but the staff were not prepared to do this. We weren't exactly happy to have paid extra for 'the best room' only to discover it was far from that!! The room was a little dated, but OK apart from the noise... and breakfast was pretty good.

Pretty but old fashioned beach side hotel. Pluses Are location,view and rooftop pool. Minuses are small rooms, not very friendly staff and the rooms have no soundproofing so you can hear other guests coming and going

Hotel by the Sea
The hotel is one of few in Porto which is on the sea front, so is the hotel of choice for this consideration only. The rooftop terrace has exceptional views, however, it was most disappointing that the pool wasn't open, despite the relaxation in guidelines the previous week. We paid the full price and there was no mention on the website that it was closed. The pool was open at our next Porto hotel, for example. The breakfast doesn't vary, and the beans went missing for two days, and the sausages completely after a couple of days. The coffee and fruit juice were good. A little variety would add a great deal to the offering, especially breads and cold plate. The rooms were comfortable and the choice of TV channels was good.

Nice Short break
Hotel is in a good location, Only a bus ride from outside hotel #500 to the centre of Porto, nice well kept accommodation, breakfast has a great selection. There’s a covered pool on the roof terrace not heated would be great in the summer. Along with a bar on the roof terrace. Parking is a little bit first come first served. The perfect place for a sunset. Plenty of bars and restaurants near by. 100 yards from a great beach, there’s a old fort/ castle Just in front of the hotel worth a visit. All In all a good stay

We were absolutely gutted when we saw our room.So so disappointing. So overpriced and staff unhelpful and one receptionist incredibly rude. We booked a twin room at the front of the property which we paid a supplement for. However we got a room looking directly at a brick wall and the rooms opposite. However the management insisted that it was a room at the front and insulted our intelligence be not taking our complaint seriously. . Do not believe the photos on the website. We had to keep the net curtains closed to give a little privacy. The view from the terrace is good but this property is very outdated. Horrible dark,dingy room. Had to have the lamps on in the middle of the day. Bathrooms have mouldy grouting and the pool has a thick scum layer around the walls. We didn't venture in. Supposed to have tea and coffee making facilities but we got one teabag and one sachet of coffee and no milk per day. Too bad if you both want tea!!

Location right at the ocean was great. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and Porto in general. Breakfast and in hotel bar and dining options were very nice. Loved the rooftop view.
