it was a very relaxing stay, it does seem I was charged 100$ for a late checkout of an hour, we had over slept and didn't wake up until 11 and my card was charged for this. This was very disappointing and will prevent me from staying or referring this place to anyone. I felt this wa very excessive!!

While we can certainly understand the disappointment for having to pay this fee — it is quite common among many hotels and motels throughout the nation to charge a late check-out fee. Some establishments charge as much as a full night's stay. The reason for this fee is because if housekeeping is late accessing the guestrooms to thoroughly clean due to a late check out — the next guest who has paid to have the room available on time, will have a delayed check-in upon arrival. This isn't fair to the next guest. We're sorry that this policy was your reason for not enjoying your stay and your comments will be forwarded to management.

I had an enjoyable overnight stay. The front desk person was very friendly and knowledgeable. My room was clean, the water was hot and the bed very comfortable. I enjoyed it so much I'll be back next week for 3 nights.

Pros: close to the ocean; could see the ocean from nice deck off the room and easy access to walking path to beach, very reasonable price, room was comfy and clean. Pretty close walking distance to things. Cons: small step down into room didn’t see and almost fell, the sheet and thin blanket made it cold unless the heat turned way up hot and stuffy, a comforter would have been nice. The outside lights to the room super bright even with curtains/shades closed. We would stay again.

This was an eatly spring get away. The room served the purpose for what I wanted. Right on the ocean. Ròom was small but had everything you needed. Could use some updates but all in all a good place. Would stay again

We loved our fall beach getaway. Being steps away from the beach is so wonderful. Short little jaunt into town for a bite to eat. Wish I had brought my own pillows, but they did find me one that had a little fluff to it.

They charged us and accused us of smoking in the the room! My husband smoked in our car and emptied his ash tray in the trash. He never smoked in the room. The front desk clerk was rude and made accusations.

Our 100 damage and theft deposit is in place in case of theft, vandalism, and other damages which include smoking in the room. The only time that we keep the deposit is if there is evidence of one of these violations. In most cases, the violation costs us more than the actual deposit. Additional cleaning is necessary to remove smoke damage from a guest room, as it absorbs into the curtains, carpets, and every fabric surface incurring more cost financially to us than the 100 deposit paid by the guest. Our housekeepers require more than the standard time needed for room cleaning plus additional cleaning products, which delays our ability to make the room available to future guests and we have to pay our housekeeping staff to stay longer. We take a financial loss when a guest smokes in the room.We are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay as a result of this unfortunate issue. This will be forwarded to management.

Outdoor Spa
We have stayed here many times. In the past we could turn the outdoor spa on "high". They now leave the spa constantly going on "low" speed. The control knob is not available to the guests. That was disappointing!

We frequent see cliff at least once yearly, the owners take pride in their property with the cleanliness, and management. It's a beautiful relaxing place that is quiet, friendly, and not to mention the spectacular Sunrise and sunsets! We always look forward to Sea Cliff House. It's our home away from home.

Off season get away.
Well it was off season so we didn’t expect too much to be available, however the people at the desk gave us some great pointers. Access to beach was right there near our room. It was just a weekend getaway for my grandson and I for his 41 birthday.

The hot tub was fantastic but could have been warmer. Great location. The kitchenet was great. The bathroom need work, mostly paint. The front desk person did not smile and was not welcoming at all. We enjoyed being so close to the beach and the other guests we friendly.

I would never stay here again!
For starters the young woman at the front desk provided the most miserable welcome I've ever experienced at a motel desk. She was unfriendly, monotone, and didn't smile once. She was clearly unhappy doing her job and should not be in the hospitality industry! The unit seemed clean enough but the curtains looked like they were 20 years old and when I went to close them I could see dust and dirt in the window sills, right behind where you put your head on the bed. The jet bathtub was nice, the only enjoyable part of our stay. We left at midnight when we went to get into bed and found a dark hair on the sheets when we pulled back the blankets. Luckily we live nearby and it was only a stop to break up our trip from the airport to home. What a waste of $200!!

Great views/everything we needed!
Darling place with AMAZING views of the ocean from the Honeymoon suite. It was peaceful (even with construction on the two buildings to the south) and serene. Two different messages were ignored...but it didn't impact our stay. Love Old Orchard Beach!! Stairs might be difficult for some people.

Such a fun place to stay, and right on the beach! Our 2 nights here are a highlight of our road trip. We came during off-season so everything was quiet and uncrowded. The view from the room was beautiful, but the bathroom was a bummer.

Really the perfect place for beach activites. The hotel is literally facing the beach. 20 seconds walk. Room size was for a couple and a kid, bedroom is a separted. It's perfect !
