Not good for kids if you want the indoor pool
Really disappointed, we wouldn’t have booked this hotel had we known that kids can only use the indoor pool between 9-11am and that you get charged at the end of your stay by the day if you were able to use it!!! The hotel staff don’t really care or appreciate that your holiday isn’t what you hoped it would be - they just say they get complaints about it all the time!! Apart from that, it’s a nice hotel

Not good for children
Do not visit with children if you want to use the indoor pool. There is some small print in the policies that say that children can only use the pool 9-11am, but obviously we didn’t see it because it’s in the section that talks about fire extinguishers, not the section about children or amenities that you actually read! So we are very disappointed because the only reason we booked this hotel is for the indoor pool. Really upsetting.

Beautiful views, amazing hotel
Was a pleasurable stay. Everything was amazing. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Hotel connected to the beach, views were magnificent. The only thing is that there are not a lot of options for food nearby (by foot). You can choose to eat at the hotel or you have to drive out a bit.

This hotel is in a fantastic location with superb sea views. We loved the little coastal path that runs along the cliff which provides access to the little beaches and coves dotted along the coastline. The only thing that let it down for us was one uncooked burger at lunchtime but I wouldn't say this affected our overall experience of the hotel. If you want more hustle and bustle the town of Platya De Aro is about a 20 minute walk where you'll find more restaurants and bars. We particulary enjoyed a restaurant called Roma (Italian cuisine). The staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The hotel just feels old. Lots of things broken, shared the spa with the same discarded used plaster for three days. Parking is a problem here,, not enough spaces. Food was not good- why are the cooked breakfasts cold? My daughter has pasta for dinner one night only to find the sauce she put on it was chilled! Then the Member of staff told her off for wasting food when she couldn’t eat it- incredible. Website states staff speak English, they do not-we would have struggled if we didn’t speak French/ Spanish.

Always fabulous
We love staying at this hotel. This was probably our 7th or 8th visit and we had probably the best room we've ever had. (Ask for sea view down the hall to the left as you face the reception desk). Front desk is always incredibly helpful and good natured. Only thing that could be improved is banning infants from the pool. Hotel did a good job limiting the number of people at one time, but screaming infants in diapers running all around the pool pushing buttons on the spray jets shouldn't be allowed

Romantic getaway
Hotel has beautiful views, and sunrise (if you are an early bird) is magical. What we liked the most was having lunch and early dinner at a table next to the water in the terrace, wonderful views. Also very nice to walk around the adjacent "calas" next to the beach, which take you all the way to Platja d'Aro. The hotel is certainly dated and the decoration kind of old-school / baroque, but it is still nice and clean. One thing they could improve is WiFi and cellular reception, which was very bad. But all in all, we really enjoyed our stay. It was the revetlla de Sant Joan, so there were fireworks from Platja d'Aro, though there are some buildings blocking it, but we still got to see some private fireworks from a close "cala".

Amazing get a way!
Absolutely beautiful location of hotel! A must if you are in this area. Wonderful areas to walk around by the rocks and water. Hiking or pleasure walk. Buffet at hotel was delicious.

Worst stay ever. Room not as advertised. Kids beds. Noisy. Parking offsite. 1 hour to check in. Asked to cancel and go somewhere else but refused refund. Would not recommend to anyone. Never had an experience like this from booking using your app.

This property is in a beautiful setting high on the rocky Mediterranean coast. Exploring the beach area is fantastic Also the breakfast and dinner buffet is excellent. Overall a nice experience.

Nice vistas overlooking water. Not much around the property other than hiking trails, but very pretty coastline. Property itself is disappointing. Cheap paper thin construction, cracking and peeling walls, loud and not particularly well maintained. Staff seems mostly disinterested. Parking is a nightmare.

A great spot on the Costa Brava!!
This is a well run, friendly hotel. It has a prime spot right on the rocky coast, where the views are amazing. The food is excellent- well cooked and imaginative. Only downside is that it can be very difficult to park.

Old world stylish paradise
Unique. Amazing old world charm. Stylish charming hotel. Most rooms only have twin beds but very comfortable. Only difference with superior rooms is most have a jacuzzi and sea view but what a view! Lovely pool plenty of sun beds. Good air con. Lovely service.We went half board but found the bbq lunch but better than the evening buffet..Well worth the extra. superb.Reasonable wine prices for a hotel, cheapest bottle was about 9euros. Wine, water and beer same price at about €2 a glass. Parking was a real issue, just not enough space. Once parked you didn’t want to move. Although there is a lift down to beach there are still some steps. A snorklers paradise. Just love this place.

Bait and Switch for Family Room
Unfortunately, as other reviewers have posted, we experienced the same bait and switch to an apartment on a remote hill vs. the family suite reserved. Prior to our arrival, via email, we were offered the remote Miravar apartments which we politely declined due to the desire to stay in what was advertised to be a regal property on the water. The first attempt by the property placed us in an aged apartment adjacent to the property with moldy odors. Upon complaint we were informed that our reservation did not entitle us to a room in the hotel, and only on grounds owned by the hotel. These grounds included some apartments of very questionable quality with relation to the hotel status reserved. Additionally the hotel informed us that online photos form their website are not indicative of the room reserved as they have so many different types. Finally we were informed that all family rooms had been given away due to our late arrival(think 4pm). As an accommodation they placed us in Miravar Apartments, which while new, modern, and clean, are not in a convenient location nor are they what we reserved. We would also note that for our reservation we payed full high season rack rate. While the hotel attempted, through use of the remote apartment, to reconcile the situation we do not feel that we were treated as valued guests having now read stories of similar outcomes for other guests. The hotel presents itself online in a much fairer light than the reality of the status.

Thanks for your comment. We've never obliged anyone to go to Marivent apartments, that are completely new and luxury ones. We've always proposed guests if they want to go there and in your case you accepted. After coming you claim for a room in the hotel (but you previously agreed to go to the appartments) so the room for 4 persons was sold (as you agreed to go to the appartments). Now you complaint about being at Marivent Luxury Appartments, where you had breakfast served (not buffet) with very high quality products. You didn't pay more than the price of the booking you made, and accepted to go to the appartments. We don't understand now your comment.

Great sea view hotel with solid restaurant
I liked most about Cap Roig it's great location with own cozy beach , perfect views from everywhere and walking distance from Plaja d'Aro center . Very kids friendly , nice multilingual stuff and really great restaurant , especially lunch and dinner. Some minor impressions came from pool bar service (very slow + a bit arrogant) + system of checks you have to sign after any drink order seemed a bit annoying. Would also recommend to upgrade night show entertainment assortment.. most of the time reminded some amateur karaoke performance.

Nice hotel - just above the sea
Nice hotel, right above the sea - you can choose b/w the pool on the terrace (and hotel bar) or just go straight down to the beach. There is a bar/restaurant on the beach as well (doesn't belong to the hotel). Drinks reasonably priced. Excellent crew in the hotel restaurant (we had half board - breakfast + dinner - excellent food, buffet - superb selection). Very unhappy with the ladies @ the reception and the pool bar.. everybody else was good. Need a car/taxi/walk to go to Platja d'Aro or Sant Antoni (20-25min walk) if you want to go out after dinner. Not very practical with small kids - better choices available around.

Charming hotel which displayed signs of old faded grandeur. Comfortable and welcoming. Great triple rooms with a separate connecting room for our teenager daughter. Fantastic sea views from bedroom. Traditional Spanish dishes, great fish and salads available every day!-Please don't bother to go if you only eat chips and burgers and your children chicken nuggets.

Hotel in a beautiful spot above the rocky coast. Staff are nice, the rooms clean & food good. Only two significant negatives; parts of the hotel are tired especially poolside furniture some of which was not usable but seemed to just be left & the hotel parking is a problem; there seems to be about 15 parking spaces less than the hotel capacity so it's a bit of pot luck at times.

Nous venons dans cet hotel pour la seconde fois la semaine precednet Noël. Tout est parfait, la chambre est superbe, la vue sublime et la demi pension vraiment bonne. Le spa est très agréable et particulièrement le massage aux pierres chaudes, un des meilleurs que j'ai eu.

Le plus apprécier ce sont les prestations massages, spa. La vue sur la mer Le moins c'est le diner un peu classique et les plats sont froid car rien qui les garde au chaud et à la réception il faut attendre longtemps lorsqu'on arrive, pas assez de personnels .
