As this accommodation was inexpensive we were pleasantly surprised by our nice room and the breakfast being included. We would recommend dinner at The Crow tavern.

This property needs a total makeover, cracked window in our bathroom, needed a good clean. Stains on bedding and walls need painting.

The room was not very clean - it badly needed a vacuum and a through clean of the bathroom which amongst other things had a long hair just left on the sink. And my bed's mattress was lumpy and well past the point where it needed to be replaced. The sheets were clean, though, even if not much else was. The location was convenient to taking the ferry back north, and too shopping and food.

As a family we have stayed here a number of times because of its location and the friendly staff. This time it was looking very tired and grotty. Also I booked a 4 bed family suite. I did not realise this meant 1 small room with bunks and single bed. No bathroom. We will probably stay again because of the location and price.

This is the best hostel we stayed in in NZ. Wonderfully clean and comfortable, large common room with comfy couches and a friendly staff. Kitchen well stocked.

The manager was very caring and helpful. Room tidy and was great to have linen. Loved having our own ensuite kids enjoyed the 1 night stay and everyone very friendly.

I have never receive a reservation confirmation in spite the fact that I had paid in advance. I had to book in the other Backpackers, Atlantis where I also paid Sequoia never gave me an answer neither the rembousemt of what I had paid.

You booked with expedia not with sequoia and they would've sent you a confirmation and you paid to them not to us so you need to sort your facts out before criticize and give a damaging rating of 1 that was nothing to do with us

This was ok for the price. The room was a little cold. Turn on the heater early. I couldn't shut and secure the bathroom windows because the clasp was broken so that contributed to the cold I think.

Comfortable and charming. Lovely host who shared his own milk with me- thank you. I had a simple double room with its own bathroom. No tv but I watched Netflix infested on very good wifi.

Location, self-catering facilities, outdoor area, family room, spacious bathroom, helpful staff. Heater in unit. also toaster and electric jug. We were happy with the facilities. There was condensation and the bed sheets felt itchy but we did not find any insect bites.
