Great stay,friendly staff and overall experience Great. The best hospitality you can find in Oudtshoorn . Great value for money ,breakfast was included and the hot foods was made on order so everything was fresh and delish.

Very enjoyable stay. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast outstanding. The room was spacious and clean and was well equipped. The Hotel was in the city center and close to eateries and other shops

Great and friendly service from all staff throughout the entire stay. Excellent location. Very clean, but a bit tired. Great breakfast, with a fantastic selection. Not sure why it is called a boutique hotel though. Will definitely stay here again when visiting Oudtshoorn.

A place to rest your head
Rooms are small and cosy. Great for a good nights rest after a day of exploring the Karoo. Very central, Easy walk to the shops.

Fantastic Turnberry Boutique hotel.
Friendly and very inviting. They have Great service and willing to help with any queries. They arranged a shuttle to and from a great restaurant, the Black Swan.

Very dissapointed
We chose the Turnberry Boutique Hotel because we had a great experience there a few years back. Unfortunately we cannot say the same this time around. Room K8 - has a light hanging out of the ceiling, the aircon doesn't work properly - made a noise and made the room hot instead of cold, and the door frame of the bathroom is rotting away. The breakfast we looked forward to was a big let down. We had to wait almost 30 minutes for staff to clear a table for us to eat at. We had to hear how the receptionist ask a lady to clear a table and she very rudely told reception - "no I have to many orders to fill." We loved the swimming pool previously but found the art work at the pool in very poor taste and could not take our kids there to enjoy the pool. We love Oudtshoorn and go there often, unfortuntely Turnberry Boutique Hotel will not be seeing us again in future.

Awful hotel! Old and not renovated for loong time.
The hotel was old and not renovated for probably 30 years. Everything was falling apart, paint, wallpaper, toilet, etc etc. The old wall-to-wall carpet was just discusting. But worst of all, the air-conditioning didn't work wich was a bummer since it was very hot in the room. We told the reception about this 3 (!) times and after everytime they said that they had fixed it, except after the last time when they just gave up. Terrible hotel!

Disgusting rip off
From the moment I walked into the room I was disgusted. The basin was dirty and I then cleaned it. The worst shock was the shower and toilet it was in a state of disgust. The toilet was filthy and the shower has not been cleaned in a while so much so that I almost threw up at the thought of having to stand on that dirt. The basins plug did not work so washing was a nightmare. I found a used earbud under the blanket. I did not get value for my money at all and to call the place a “hotel” is shocking and 4 star is a definite lie. Daylight robbery if you ask me. I’ll never recommend this place to anyone and I don’t think this place is worth it to have on hotels.com. Worst so called hotel I’ve ever been to in my life.

Very disappointed. Toilet roll hanging off, dstv didn't work no-one fixed it. drunken party outside our bedroom window no-one stopped it 5 bottles wine 7 beers! Sink wouldn't empty. Cramped accommodation. Overpriced and over rated.

It was an amazing stop-over after a 7 hour drive. We all enjoyed the pool. The rooms were comfortable and breakfast was very good. Staff very friendly. On my next trip I will definitely stay there again.

Great stay, better than expected!
Our stay was excellent at the Turnberry Boutique Hotel! The room was very clean and very comfortable and the complimentary breakfast in the morning exceeded expectations. The property is beautiful!

Shoddy, budget rather than boutique
We were just staying one night here as a halfway point from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town. I thought the property was a little better than it was when booking. The room was very outdated. The town was little to be desired, although I am assured there is plenty to do if staying for longer than we did, in the immediate area, but personally I wouldn't stay there for longer than i needed to. A boutique Hotel is defined as follows: a stylish small hotel, typically one situated in a fashionable urban location. I would not classify any of those descriptions on either Turnberry or Oudtshoorn without being cruel but I can't say i would choose the location or the accomodation. I would pay half the price for something better here in Ireland and Ireland is very expensive. Star Ratings should be reviewed yearly in my opinion.

Suggest more maintenance be carried out particularly on air-conditioners. The filters on the air con in our room were disgusting, had not been cleaned in a long tie and the aircon was not working correctly due to this. The restaurant food is overpriced, cannot see how they can justify R285 per head including children. Really nice bar area and nice cosy feel. Would suggest maybe adding a bit more to do in the hotel itself.

Top-notch property and super friendly staff. I visited during the off season and received a wonderful and unexpected room upgrade. Many local residents congregate at the Turnberry's bar, ensuring lively conversations and plenty of laughs. Easy walking distance to Outshoorn's city attractions and well placed for driving to karoo landmarks, such as ostrich farms and Cango Cave. Book this hotel if you're visiting Outshoorn!

Perfect for 1 night stopover on the garden route.
Clean and very comfortable hotel of a good standard providing a great base for a stopover on the garden route. Good size room with 2 comfortable double beds. Friendly non intrusive staff. Off road parking. Good breakfast. Was everything we wanted!

Pulled up outside hotel and waited for over 5 minutes pressing the bell to be let in. Hotel found to be shabby and in desperate need of upgrading and redecoration. Bathroom also needs upgrading. The receptionist who finally managed to let us in proved to be very efficient in all the otherways of service. We just wished we had picked elsewhere considering the cost to quality of the hotel. Breakfast was very good. Definitely a 2* hotel.

Not a boutique hotel!
Hotel is centrally located, but more like a motel than a boutique hotel. Rooms are adequate and clean. Planned to stay 2 nights, but only stayed one.

Having looked forward to our stay at Turnberry we were very disappointed with the look feel and fit out of the whole place - while the bed was very comfortable and the room very clean the space and built in wardrobes left us feeling we were sleeping in a converted office . The decor throughout is funereal and depressing majoring in dull brown and cream . The breakfast was the next disappointment to be told it was extra for expresso/cappuccino !! Why could they not include this ?The bread was the cheapest supermarket sliced covered over by a cracked top plastic cover and a hole where the knob had broken off . A wholly inappropriate mural on the wall in the patio area outside the dining room was reminiscent of the sort of drug infused student art found in sleezy markets - The term " boutique " denotes a standard and expectation above B & B - Throughout out journey along the Garden Route and the Karoo we have found all the accommodation we booked of a consistently high standard punching frequently above expectations - This is a warthog give it a miss !

Good Hotel
Good hotel just off the Main Street with shops and restaurants close by. Off street parking available for guests. Good buffet breakfast available with plenty of choice and hot options cooked to order, though mine was overdone. Staff helpful and friendly and would stay here again though hotel bar (open "till late" according to the in-room information book) was closed when I tried to enter at 8.30 pm.

Poor service spoils otherwise decent hotel
Centrally located hotel, clean room, although with a bizarre layout (washbasin in the bedroom instead of the bathroom). Very poor breakfast (brown fruit salad, mouldy bread, burnt porridge, flies in the yoghurt). Difficult to believe this is a 4-star hotel; there were hardly any staff on hand at checkin, no porters to assist with luggage. Evening dining at the restaurant only possible if you book ahead! Ample, safe parking. Good aircon. Did not try the pool. Basic, no-frills hotel experience.

All round great hotel
We had a very nice stay at the Turnberry Boutique hotel. It was a welcome relief to enter an air conned room as Oudtshoorn was incredibly hot! Room was very clean and huge. Bed was exceedingly comfortable. We also took part in the hotel BBQ the evening that we stayed and the food was delicious, as was breakfast. All the staff were very polite and helpful and the lady at concierge helped with restaurant recommendations etc. Only a 2 second walk from the high street and 15 min drive from the Cango Caves. Would definitely recommend.

Hotel was clean, friendly and a pleasant stay. ecause we stayed on friday, the bar was even open earlier! The layout was bit odd with rooms everywhere. Breakfast was adequate but not great.

An amazing stay
An extremely warm welcome and excellent service at the hotel. Ate a traditional Braai (barbecue) at the hotel which was very good value for money and, again, wonderful service from the waiting staff. WiFi didn't work initially, but they fixed it quickly. Lovely location too! Would definitely stay at the Turnberry again.
