was a bit misled in that only room left was a triple (3 single beds) which as the last night of our stay left us feeling a bit unhappy about - the room is ok but shower was a bit smelly and decor outdated to say the least

This hotel was wonderful. It had the best shower we experienced in Europe. It is close to the beach, dining and shopping. The train was close and we rode it to Monaco and caanes. Did I mention you could actually change the TV language to English!

Walkable to beaches and restaurants fronting the water. Very close to airport, though no airport shuttle. There is a bus that stops at the airport, though there was some confusion about which number it was. With enough questions at the stop, we finally got on the right bus.

Spent the weekend in Nice. Easy check in, friendly staff. Multi-lingual. Room was perfect for us, two adults and 16 year old son. Hotel is 5 minute walk to the beach and many beach front restaurants. Also 5 minute walk to modern shopping mall. Definitely recommend.

I spent a night there after my flight at the nearby airport was canceled. I was expecting much, I needed to be back at the airport the next morning and thought it will be your usual modest airport hotel room but for £100 odd Pounds I was expecting a bit better standard and the overall experience was quite grim. The hotel is located very close to the airport but it is away from all the other airport hotels positioned near more industrial buildings which at this time were all closed giving you a feeling of being in the middle of nowhere. I arrived very late and all downstairs reception was dark with the concierge sleeping on the sofa. He wasn’t wearing a uniform or anything indication he works for the hotel. During check in, a man walked into the reception from the outside and bought a pack of cigarettes from the concierge and walked out (seemed a bit doggy to me). The concierge was friendly but made a comment about me travelling alone which made me feel uncomfortable.I don’t want to say anything bad about him I’m sure he is a good man but the whole situation made me feel quite unsafe as a woman travelling alone. My room was ok but again for the price I paid I would expect better standard,it was in a very bad shape but I must admit it was clean. For security I wanted to bold or at least wedge the door somehow but it didn’t have any additional locks except of the key lock and the door opened outwards into the hall so o couldn’t wedge it or block it. Not the best experience.

Comfortable hotel - close to beach & airport
The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and keen to help (except for lost property - see comment below). There was a beach extremely close by with lots of lovely bars and restaurants to choose from. Huge shopping centre nearby - lots of designer brands. 5 minutes walk to railway - 30 minute train journey to Monaco, Monte Carlo. If you like English tea, this can be difficult to find - there was a great McDonalds 1 minute from the hotel who did the best tea. 10 minute bus ride to and from the airport for E1.50, so don't get a taxi. Despite close proximity to airport we did not hear any air traffic noise. Be careful not to flood the bathroom though - if shower nozzle pointing wrong way, the water will go everywhere! All in all an enjoyable stay and an excellent budget hotel. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic helpful night porter ...............
Business trip to deliver two high performance luxury cars. The night porter from Senegal was brilliant, he even got us to move both the vehicles from the hotel's car park at rear to the front so he could keep an eye on them all night. 5 minute walk to the beach and port of St Laurent du Var giving you over 50 bars and restaurants. Also good for the wife, 5 minutes to the largest shopping centre in France CAP3000! Walking distance to train station giving you access to Nice, Monaco etc..

Hotel was convenient if you want a quieter atmosphere with a good selection of restaurants nearby. Hotel breakfast was very basic, eat out.

it Was ok hotel, somehow reception staff got you A bit concerned as they were a bit too relaxed. Also taxi From hotel Was 45 euro, better to use bus, which is only 1,50 and 2 shops. Internet Was good and bensaa were ok too. Neighbourhood is good, next to beach and huge shopping Center. Beach is by the Way behind the shopping Center.

Stayed at this hotel and I don't class it as cheap but not as nice as expected. Decent enough if all you want is a bed for the night. No tea or coffee facilities in the room and a small bottle of water was 4 euros!

we enjoyed our stay there last summer it s very close to .the airport and close to the beach as well we also like browsing along in lafayette gourmet.we chose to come again as we had a flight to lille with easyjet ... cancelled unfortunately ... but we enjoyed our stay however the staff is quite friendly the .terrace is huge too i would definitely recommend the hotel

It appears to be buried in the airport clutter, but it is on the edge of a resort area -- very nice. Staff members were friendly and helpful. Everything was comfortable and convenient.

Hotel right in the town near shops and Macdonalds lol, airport is walking distance, 15 minutes tops. Train station and bus 5 minutes away. They are English speaking but had few issues explaining stuff to them. Room was decent, very friendly open 24 hours.

Low cost but nice stay
Very helpful consierge. Problems with electricity blackout dealt with quickly and with respect to customers concerns. Toilet w a bit smelly and smokers left their usual scent in the room.

A Gem -- If Your Expectations Are Reasonable
We stayed at Comfort Hotel Galaxie for nine nights (with two of those nights away while traveling to Monaco and Italy). As long as you don't expect a modern property with all the latest and greatest (I have to be honest -- the place is a bit aged), you'll love the place. Be prepared for some quirks -- like the floor lights on a timer. Also, the actual keys (on a heavy key chain) stay at the front desk when you leave the building -- something an American traveler would find discomforting. Nevertheless, once you're past those "novelties," you realize that you are three minutes away from a seaside promenade full of restaurants, five minutes from the CAP3000 mall (overpriced as everything in Europe, but with a large supermarket -- quite helpful for an extended stay). The staff is personable and helpful. (Example: we needed a voltage converter and asked where we could buy one -- within five minutes of fighting the language barrier, we had one on loan from the front desk.) The highlight of each room is a massive balcony. There is a small fridge with minibar items -- but also room for your own stuff. Wi-Fi is free -- but could drop intermittently. There is a gated parking lot behind the building, which helps if you have a rental car. So, the bottom line: take Comfort Hotel Galaxie for what it is -- and love it!

Good hotel. Great location. 5 mins to grocery store, 1 minute to beach. English spoken. DO not stay here for any major event. I.e. the monaco grand prix, or the Cannes festival. You will be gouged huge for the price. Rooms are comfortable with small fridges, although you are not allowed to eat in your room. Large balconies are a bonus.

We stayed this hotel because it was closer to the promenade. When we booked, the description had said free breakfast, but the lady at the front desk was extremely rude to us and denied us the free breakfast. The hotel staff keep changing and one of the guys during the night shift was impolite. If you know, you are a tourist and a first time visitor they rip you off. So, be careful. We needed to get to the Airport in the morning. The night shift guy at the front desk said they was no public transportation at 7 AM and had us book a taxi. We find out next day morning that he had lied about public transportation and ripped us off by booking a limo service and not a regular taxi. Hence, I recommend this hotel, if you are good at french.

Unbeknownst to us ahead of time, it was Grand Prix and film festival time, so we were lucky to get any hotel. This one is in an un-inspiring neighborhood and the hotel is seedy looking. Has a good parking lot, but if you don't have a car you will need to take a bus into Cannes. We did have the only CNN we'd had anywhere in France, including Paris. (Other travelers we met had the same complaint. It seems to be a current budget-saving measure. They all tell you it's "not working". No BBC either. In other words, no English tv). And free in-room WIFI, also not readily available elsewhere. The Galleries Lafayette has a huge gourmet grocery section with all of that great French takeout food, only a couple of blocks away. This hotel is not in the beautiful part of the Cote d'Azure, and there didn't appear to be any nice restaurants nearby. Just a suburban neighborhood. If possible, stay in Cannes itself.

Walking distance from several key locations: the train station (easy for a day trip to Cannes, Nice, Monte Carlo); the beach (pleasant, lots of decent restaurants along the promenade); Cap 3000 (a super-mall, the largest in the district, where you can find anything, even the latest in graphic novels). The hotel was clean, simple, and had good service. Very close to the airport by taxi (about five or ten minutes, which unfortunately came to nearly 20 euros). Really no complaints. A very solid hotel within its category.

Hotel highly recommended as a base for a tour of the French Riviera and for visiting Nice. the hotel is not in the city center but is a short walk from both the beach and the cap3000 shopping centre. Buses leave from here for the center of Nice. The staff is kind, smiling and always available. Large and well kept room.

De accommodatie was voor mij persoonlijk goed gelegen. Er is een winkelcentrum en strand op wandelafstand (5 minuten). Om echt naar het hartje van Nice te gaan of naar de steden er naast is het openbaar vervoer handig (de bus of de trein). Onze kamer was proper en er was de mogelijkheid om het elke dag te laten poetsen.

Bra strandnära hotell i Nice
Bra hotell med mycket bra läge nära bra restauranger och beach & stenstranden i Nice. Och supernära den stora shoppingcenter CAP3000. En helt ok frukost buffé. Lite knöligt att toan var separat från badrummet, men det gick bra. Trevlig personal och bra att ha tillgång till parkering.
