"The staff was great, but the front desk attendants all seemed like they were being inconvenienced to a mild degree. I happened to have stayed down in the lobby bar area working for a few hours, while waiting for a room, and had interactions with everyone working. Oddly, they all seemed a bit annoyed or inconvenienced. Hard to explain, but their energy wasn’t inviting. Otherwise the rest of the staff was great. And while my stay was very good, the other review item I scored lower was maintenance. This is mostly the finishes in the room that require some refresh work. The wallpaper had visible lines, the bathroom needs better lighting and some TLC. The carpet and corners need to be redone (or replace with non carpeted flooring). The room was fine, but it’s showing its age. And I fully make that remark knowing NYC hotels are in old buildings that have different maintenance needs.
All in all, a good stay. Close to Central Park and all the good shopping :)"
